Abstract

A novel laundry-carrying case for carrying clothes to and from a LAUNDROMAT or laundry room, where laundry is brought to be washed and dried or cleaned, the carrying case comprising hinged sections formed of plastic coated webbing with the hinged sections latched or locked together and provided with a handle, at least one of the sections having pockets or compartments for receiving soap or detergent, bleach, fabric softener or the like, used in laundering or cleaning of the clothes.

[57] ABSTRACT A novel laundry-carrying case for carrying clothes to and from a LAUNDROMAT or laundry room, where laundry is brought to be washed and dried or cleaned, the carrying case comprising hinged sections formed of plastic coated webbing with the hinged sections latched or locked together and provided with a handle, at least one of the sections having pockets or compartments for receiving soap or detergent, bleach, fabric softener or the like, used in laundering or cleaning of the clothes.

3 Claims, 6 Drawing Figures LAUNDRY-CARRYING CASE The present invention relates to a novel laundrycarrying case for use in conveniently carrying or transporting soiled laundry to a LAUNDROMAT or laundry room for washing and drying or cleaning and subsequently returning therein the cleaned laundry to the home or apartment.

Presently used laundry baskets are bulky, difficult to carry and handle and require more trips to and from an automobile or apartment to the laundry room and back. Also they have no provision for retaining the soap or detergent, bleach, fabric softener and other washing and cleaning supplies from spillage in transporting these to and from the laundry room.

A further object of the present invention is the provision of a novel laundry-carrying case comprising hinged and latched sections for receiving the soiled laundry, at least one of the hinged sections having pockets for receiving and transporting therewith soap or detergents, bleach, bluing, fabric softener and/or other cleaning substance used in the washing and cleaning of soiled laundry or clothing.

The present invention further comprehends the provision of a novel carrying case for receiving and transporting soiled laundry to and from a laundry room or commercial establishment where a customer brings laundry to be washed and dried in coin-operated automatic machines.

The novel laundry-carrying case comprises hinged sections each formed of a frame section with crossed plastic coated spaced strips of flexible webbing permitting ventilation of the contained laundry or clothing.

Further objects are to provide a laundry-carrying case of maximum simplicity, efficiency, economy and ease of production and use, and such further objects, advantages and capabilities as will later more fully appear and are inherently possessed thereby.

Referring more particularly to the novel illustrative embodiment shown in the drawing, the novel laundrycarrying case 10 for carrying the laundry to the laundry room for washing and returning the cleansed laundry after washing and drying, comprises two complementary hinged

11 and 12 having spaced hinges l3 and 14 at the base and spaced latching means 15 and 16 at the division of the abutting

11 and 12 has an encompassing skeleton frame 21 with a covering comprising spaced strips 22 of flexible plastic coated interlaced webbing, the two frame sections providing unobstructed interior space for enclosing soiled laundry to be washed or cleansed and dried, and for enclosing and transporting such laundry after washing or cleansing and drying has been completed.

On the exterior surface of at least one of the frame sections of the case are provided multiple pockets or

compartments

23 and 24, one of which is adapted to receive soap, detergent or other washing compound and another bleach, bluing, fabric softener and/or other substance employed in the launderingor cleansing operation.

The interior of the frame sections being unobstructed provides substantial interior space for transporting the soiled laundry as well as for returning the laundry after washing has been accomplished.

I claim:

1. A laundry-carrying case comprising connected sections for receiving laundry to be washed and after washing, each section having a frame and a covering of spaced strips of interlaced webbing, hinges for connecting the base of these sections, a handle and latching means on the top of these frame sections for retaining said sections in closed relation, and one or more pockets on the exterior of the case for receiving and transporting soap or detergent, bleach, fabric softener or other washing substance for use in washing the contained laundry.

2. A laundry case as set forth in claim 1, in which the strips of webbing are plastic coated.

3. A laundry-carrying case as set forth in claim 2, in which the carrying case comprises complementary sections with one of the sections having the exterior pockets for receiving and transporting the washing substance for use in the washing operation.
