CURTAIN-POLE HANGER.

Be it known that we, CHARLES L. SHARP and JOHN R. WVILLIAMS, citizens of the United States, residing at Sharon, in the county of Mercer and State of' Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and usefullmprovements in Curtain-Pole Hangers; and we do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

The invention relates to curtain pole hangers. a

The object of the invention is to provide curtain-pole hanger which shall be simple of construction, durable in use, comparatively inexpensive'of production,and easily attached to window-frames without marring or defacing the same.

With this and other objects in View the invention consists of certain novel features of construction, combination, and arrangement of parts, which will be hereinafter more fully described, and particularlypointed out in the appended claims.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view showing the invention applied. Fig. 2 is a top plan view. Fig. 3 is a side View, and Fig. 4 is a front view.

Referring to the drawings, 1 denotes the bracket-arm having its outer end constructed to receive and support a curtain-pole and provided at its rear end with an angular frame 2, the horizontal arm of the angular frame being adapted to be secured to the upper edge of the window frame or casing and the vertical arm of the angular frame being adapted to engage the front side of the casing.

The hanger may be made of any suitable material, but as shown in the present in stance consists of a single piece of wire,which is doubled upon itself and twisted to form the arm and bent to'for'm the angular frame. It will be observed that the horizontal portion of the angular frame is provided with an eye 3, through which is adapted to be driven a nail or screw for supporting the hanger in place. It will also be observed that the twisted sections of the wire constituting the arm are separated at the inner end of the arm and extend downwardly at right angles to the arm and diverge one with respect to the other and terminate in eyes 7, which terminate in upwardly-extending portions 8,

which terminate injnwardly-projecting portions 9, which in turn terminate in the horizontal portion in which the eye is formed. By referring to Fig. 1 it- Will be noticed that at that point where the two sections of the wire forming the arm diverge they are supported by the inwardly-projecting portions 9, thus materially bracing the arm.

From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, the construction, mode of operation, and advantages of the invention will be readily understood without requiring an extended explanation. I

Various changes in the form, proportion, and details of construction may be made with in the scope of the invention without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages thereof.

Having thus described our invention, what we claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. A curtain-pole hanger comprising an angular frame, consisting of a piece of wire bent to form a horizontal portion of the frame and vertical portions of the frame, said horizontalportion being provided with a nail or screw receiving eye,and said vertical portions having laterally-projecting members at their upper ends which are joined to said horizontal portion, and also having upwardly-converging members which are bent over said lastnamed members and then twisted together to form a pole-supporting arm, substantially as set forth.

2. A curtain-pole hanger comprising an angular frame, consisting of a piece of wire bentto form a horizontal portion of the frame and vertical portions of the frame, said vertical portions having laterally projecting members at theirupper ends which are joined to said horizontal portion, and also having upwardly converging members which are bent over said last-named members and then twisted together to form a pole-supporting arm, substantially as set forth.
