Letters Patent No. 73,490, dated January 21, 1868.
MPROVEMENT IN TUYERB-IRON.
TO ALL WHOM IT MAY OONCERN:
Be it known that I, LYMAN' M. BAILEY, of Landgrove, in the county of Bennington, and State of Vermont, have invented a new and improved Tuyere-Iron; and I do hereby ldeclare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the lart to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification..
This invention relates to an improvement in what is known as theeoncave tuyere-iron for blaeksmiths fires; and it consists in the arrangement of a valve whereby the' fire may he regulated to suit the work in hand, as may be desired, and in combination therewith a door or aperture for clearing the air-chamber of ashes or cinders, the object being to control the current of air and eeonoxnize coal.
