PATENT OFFICE.
ADOLPH H. COHN, on NEW YORK, N. Y.
HOSE-SUPPORTER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 746,677, dated December 15, 1903.
Application filed July 3, 1903. Serial No. 164,106. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ADOLPH H. Cons, of the city of New York, borough of Manhattan, in the county and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Hose-Supporter, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
My invention relates to hose-supporters; and it consists of certain novel parts and combination of parts, particularly pointed out in the claims concluding this specification;
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 shows a hose-supporter involving my invention. Figs. 2, 3, and 4. are modifications thereof. Fig. 5 shows the application of the device illustrated in Fig. 1.
The following is a description of the con striiction shown in the drawings, which illustrate my invention in the forms in which I at present prefer to embody it; but it will be understood that various modifications and changes may be made in details without departing from the invention and without exceeding the scope of the concluding claims. Reference being had to Fig. 1, A A are tapes, preferably composed of elastic material and made adjustable in length by means of the slides B B. At one end of each tape are secured the cords D D, to which are attached the fasteners E E. These fasteners may be of any suitable type, of which several are now well known and three diEerent forms of which are shown in Figs. 2, and 3, respectively. To the other end of each tape A are secured the hooks O, to which the cord D of the other tape may be fastened.
The modification shown in Fig. 2 differs from that described in Fig. 1 only in the fact that the hooks O O are made adjustable on the tapes by means of the slide F F, forming part of the hooks.
Fig. 3 illustrates a modification in which A A are the tapes, adjustable by means of the slides B B. C C are loops secured to the tapes at one end. E E are the fasteners attached to the other end of the tapes. Upon the tapes are adjustable slides F F, affixed to which are the studs G G. These studs engage with theloops O G.
In Fig.4, A A designate the tapes; B Bathe means for adjusting them. At one end each of these tapes is secured to the ring H. The
' tape A has secured to its other end the ring H, while the tape A has secured toits other end the book 6*. The fasteners E E are attached to the rings H and H.
I will now describe the method of applying my invention with its several modifications.
The devices shown in Figs. 1 and 2 being in two parts, the cord D of one part may be first attached to the hook Gof the other part. The device may then be placed about the leg and the other cord D attached to the other hook C. The entire device may be then adjusted to the desired size by means of the slides B B and, in'Fig. 2, also by means of the slides F .F. The fasteners E E are then secured to the hose.
In the device of Fig.v 3 there are also two parts. The loop C of one part may be first attached to the stud G of the other. The device may then be placed about the leg and the other loop and stud secured together. The whole device may then be adjusted to the desired size by means of the slides B B and F F. It may then be fastened to the hose by means of the fasteners E E.
The device of Fig. 4 is placed about the leg, and the hook C is attached to the ring H. The hose are then secured to the fasteners E E 7 'Having thus fully described myinvention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is- 1 Lin ahose-supporter the combination of a plurality of detachable tapes having hosesupporting clasps attached to each of said tapes.
2. In a hose-snpporter the combination of a plurality of detachable elastic tapes with hose-supporting clasps attached to each of said tapes.
3. In a hose-supporter the combination of a plurality of detachable tapes with hosesupporting clasps attached to each ofsaid tapes and means for attaching said tapes together. s
4. In a hose-supporter the combination of a plurality of tapes having hose-supporting clasps attached to each of said tapes, means for adjusting said tapes and means fendetachably securing said tapes together.
5. In a hose-supporter the combination of a plurality of adjustable tapes, a plurality of hose-supporting clasps attached thereto and detachable means for attaching said tapes together.
6. In combination in a hose-supporter, a plurality of tapes, each tape having a hosesupporting clasp attached thereto, and means for detachably securing said tapes together.
7. In combination in a hose-supporter a plurality of tapes, each tape being adjustable and having a hose-supporting clasp attached thereto and detachable means for attaching said tapes together.
8. In combination in a hose-supporter a plurality of adjustable elastic tapes, each tape having a hose-supporting clasp attached thereto and means for detachably securing either tape to the other.
