.TOI-IN G. POWELL, OF NORRIS CITY, ILLINOIS.
DENTAL FINGER-TRAY.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Oct. 27, 1908.
Application led February 6, 1908. Serial No. 414,609.
T coll whom it may concern.'
te Be it known that I JOI-IN G. POWELL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Norris City, in the county of White and State of Illinois, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Dental Finger-Trays, of which the following is a speciiication.
This invention relates to a tray especially adapted for the use oi dentists for the purpose of holding coment while mixing, and which can also be used ior holding cleaning material, etc.
The invention consists of a iinger ring, a tray holder carried by said ring, and a circular concavo-convex tray carried by said holder.
In the drawings forming a part of this speciicatio1'i1-Figure l is a perspective view illustrating the practical application of the invention. Fig. 2 is a plan view. Fig. 3 is a sectional View, a portion of the ring being shown in elevation.
In constructingr the device I employ a ring A, which, if desired, may be split so as to accommodate fingers of diilerent sizes, and a star-shaped holder B is formed upon this ring and when the ring is in position upon the index inger the holder B will rest substantially parallel to the back of the nger. Resting upon this holder is a small circular tray O concave-convex in form, and the tray is held in position upon the holder D, by bending the projecting points B, of the star-shaped holder upwardly and inwardly over the edgev of the tray, as is very clearly shown in all of the iigures of the drawing. The ring A and the holder B may be of any desired metal such as gold or silver, or of hard rubber or of any other material suitable for such use.
The tray O is preferably of glass and is so shown in the drawings but it may be made of porcelain, celluloid aluminum or any other suitable material. A tray of this kind will take the place of the usual slab upon which the cement is mixed and will be very convenient as it is always at hand and can be held Vlirmly in the desired position while the 'cement is being worked which is not always the case with the loose slab resting upon the table. The device will also be very convenient for holding cleaning material or other substances While the dentist is operating at the dental chair thus avoiding continual turning from the chair to an adjacent stand or table.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. A device of the kind described comprising a ring, a circular tray and means for holding the tray upon the ring.
2. A device of the kind described comprising a ring, a tray holder formed integral with the ring, and a concavo-convex tray carried by said holder.
3. A device of the kind described comprising a ring, a holder mounted upon the ring, and a tray carried by the holder, and projecting points carried by the holder and bent over the tray edges.
