Abstract

A system allowing the exact knowledge of the position taken in the uterus of all the types of loops existing actually on the market. It comprises a marking device consisting in a centimetric coloring of the thread or threads which are affixed on all the types of loops. The invention can be utilised at the time when the loop is placed in position, to verify its location after its introduction, to cut the thread at the proper length with certitude and, at each of the periodic controls, to know exactly the positionning of the loop in the uterus.

La présente invention concerne tous les types de stérilet existant sur le marché et permet de connaître avec certitude la place de ce dispositif intra-utérin après le retrait de l'appareil introducteur.The present invention relates to all types of IUD existing on the market and allows to know with certainty the place of this intrauterine device after removal of the introducer.
Lors de la pose d'un stérilet, il est nécessaire d'effectuer une hystérométrie qui permet de connaître la distance précise de l'orifice externe du col de l'utérus à la paroi du fond utérin (figure I). Cette distance varie de 6 à IO cm et se décompose en deux parties : la cavité utérine où l'on doit déposer le stérilet et le col utérin (figure 2). La plupart des stérilets sont vendus avec de petits appareils introducteurs qui permettent de reporter les données de l'hystérométrie et de déposer le stérilet dans la cavité utérine. Tous les types de stérilet existant sur le marché sont terminés par un ou deux fils ne présentant aucun marquage. De tels dispositifs présentent l'inconvénient, après le retrait de l'appareil introducteur, de ne plus permettre de connaître avec exactitude la position du stérilet dans l'utérus. Such devices have the disadvantage, after the removal of the introducer, to no longer allow to know exactly the position of the IUD in the uterus. At this time, the data of the initial hysterometry is lost.

Le dispositif, objet de l'invention, consiste à insérer sur l'extrémité inférieure des différents types de stérilet existant sur le marché en remplacement des fils d'origine, un ou plusieurs fils présentant un marquage et notamment par une graduation colorimétrique. Le système de graduation peut être réalisé notamment grâce à un changement de couleur chaque centimètre sur le ou les fils fixés sur tous les types de stérilet. Il peut être utilisé ensuite lors de la pose du stérilet pour couper le ou les fils avec certitude à une longueur satisfaisante. Ceci est particulièrement intéressant car le fil ne doit pas être trop long car il risque d'entraîner une gêne, ni trop court car cela peut entraîner une disparition du fil dans l'utérus, ce qui nécessitera souvent une anésthésie générale pour enlever le stérilet. Dans ce cas, le système de graduation permet de tenir compte des données de l 'hystérométrie initiale. Enfin, le dispositif, objet de l'invention, peut être utilisé lors des contrôles périodiques car il permet avec certitude de connaître la place du stérilet. Ainsi, avec un stérilet de telle longueur et un utérus de telle profondeur, données connues au départ, si le fil sortant de l'orifice externe du col de l'utérus est bleu, le stérilet est en bonne place (figure 3), s'il est noir ou rouge, le stérilet est engagé dans le col de l'utérus et il est inefficace (figure 4), s'il est vert ou orange, il y a perforation de la paroi du fond utérin (figure 5). Ceci est évidemment très important car cela permet de savoir immédiatement si le stérilet est en place ou s'il est engagé dans le col utérin, auquel cas il n'est plus efficace. Si le stérilet s'est déplacé dans le col utérin, ce système permet de le replacer en le repoussant avec exactitude sans risque de perforation du fond utérin. Thus, with an IUD of such length and a uterus of such depth, data known at the outset, if the wire coming out of the external orifice of the cervix is blue, the IUD is in a good place (Figure 3), s 'it is black or red, the IUD is engaged in the cervix and it is ineffective (figure 4), if it is green or orange, there is perforation of the wall of the uterine fundus (figure 5). This is obviously very important because it allows you to know immediately if the IUD is in place or if it is engaged in the cervix, in which case it is no longer effective. If the IUD has moved into the cervix, this system allows it to be replaced by pushing it back exactly without the risk of perforation of the uterine fundus.
