Description
Apparat zur äußeren Behandlung von Körperteilen mit akustischen Wellen Apparatus for the external treatment of parts of the body with acoustic waves
Treatment of body parts with acoustic waves, in particular for the treatment of body parts with congestion, vasoconstriction and / or for the irritation of nerve centers. Acoustic waves have so far been used in therapy exclusively in the area of ultrasound frequencies, primarily for the healing treatment of rheumatic and joint diseases. To date, only medicinal treatments have been used to treat circulatory disorders, particularly for the treatment of vasoconstrictions occurring in limbs or for parts of the body which are unsatisfactorily provided with blood for other reasons. In more severe cases, the disorders could only be treated by surgery. In many cases, the surgical procedure meant amputation of the limb that had died as a result of the narrowing of the vessels. Researchers around the world are working intensively on developing a more effective method for healing circulatory disorders and diseases of the vein system. The aim of the invention was to develop a solution by means of which the diseases mentioned can be cured with an increased effectiveness compared to the earlier methods.
The invention is based on the finding that the acoustic waves can be used with the best success for the treatment of congested parts of the body suffering from vasoconstriction. It was also recognized that a further healing effect can be achieved if the acoustic waves are directed at the nerve centers located on the body surface. The set goal is achieved with the apparatus according to the invention, or through its therapeutic application, in such a way that an apparatus is provided which has a treatment head connected to the sound frequency generator, a housing and an acoustic signal source arranged in the housing - which connects to the sound frequency generator - Has, further on one side of the housing, expediently in the axis of the acoustic signal source, an opening directed to the body part to be treated is designed. With the aid of the treatment head, it can be realized that the acoustic sound frequency waves emerging through the opening can be directed directly at the sick part of the body, which suffers from congestion or vasoconstriction.
The housing of the treatment head is advantageously designed as a cylindrical tube, in the axis of which the acoustic signal source is arranged.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the acoustic signal source within the housing can be adjusted in the direction of the cylinder axis, the acoustic signal source sealingly adapting to the inner surface of the housing. The advantage of this embodiment is that the adjustment of the acoustic signal source within the cylindrical tube offers the possibility that nodes of the acoustic waves can develop at predetermined points in front of the opening to be directed onto the body part to be treated, which makes the treatment even more effective which enables sick parts of the body.
A loudspeaker is preferably used as the acoustic signal source. The advantage of a loudspeaker is that it can be used extremely simply and cheaply as an acoustic signal source. The housing of the treatment head is expediently provided with attachments with openings of different sizes, which are placed depending on the size of the body area to be treated. The attachments are advantageously connected to the housing with a flanged clamping ring.
In a further embodiment of the invention, a switch connecting the acoustic signal source to the sound frequency generator is arranged in the room behind the acoustic signal source; the switch can be operated by hand, but it seems to be a more convenient solution to use a timer holder on which the duration of the treatment can be set in advance. The sound frequency generator is a square wave generator with variable frequency. Experience has shown that the body part to be treated can be treated with the steeply rising square wave signals with increased effectiveness; the reason is that during the steep ascent, the organism's response to the sinusoidal stimulus is unable to develop.
The tests have shown that the most suitable frequencies for the treatment of the diseased parts of the body are in the range between 1 Hz and 1000 Hz, accordingly the frequency of the sound frequency generator of the apparatus according to the invention can be changed in the range between 1 Hz and 1000 Hz.
Sollte der Thermometer eine Abkühlung zeigen, ist dieWe have also observed that the temperature of the treated parts of the body and the sensation of heat by the patient may vary during the treatment period. In some cases, the patient finds the part of the body cold, in other cases warm, sometimes the patient has a tingling sensation. Our experience has shown that the treatment is effective when the patient feels warm on the treated part of the body or at the same time has a tingling sensation. This sensation of heat can be demonstrated on the skin surface, on the treated part of the body or in the immediate vicinity of the treatment site with a thermometer. Accordingly, the apparatus includes a thermometer which is placed on the body part treated or in the immediate vicinity thereof. If the thermometer shows cooling, it is
Change the frequency of the treatment and / or the intensity of the acoustic waves until heat or tingling sensation is felt in the treated part of the body. A possible embodiment of the treatment head of the apparatus according to the invention is explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing. The figure shows the half-view half-section of the treatment head of the apparatus according to the invention.
The operating head has a housing 1, which in our exemplary embodiment is a cylindrical tube, the rear end of which is closed by a closure plate 9, while an attachment 3, which is fastened to the housing by a clamping ring 4, is arranged at the front end. An opening 14 is formed on the attachment 3, which is directed onto the body part to be treated.
The acoustic signal source is formed in the housing 1 by a loudspeaker 5. The loudspeaker 5 is mounted in the housing on an axially displaceable piston 2. The position of the piston 2 in the housing 1 can be fixed with the aid of a screw 8; the screw 8 moves in an axial groove 7 configured on the housing 1. The piston 2 adapts to the inner wall of the housing 1 with the aid of a seal 11, completely sealed.
In the interior of the housing 1, in the space behind the piston 2, a switch 12 is arranged, which connects the sound frequency generator (not shown here) to the loudspeaker 5 via a cable 13. The switch 12 can be operated by hand, but a timer switch - on which the duration of the treatment is set - can also be used. The attachment 3 on the housing 1 / as can be seen from the left side of the figure / can be replaced. The treatment head includes an attachment set consisting of attachments 3 with openings 14 of different sizes. If necessary, the attachment 3 - which can be removed by removing the clamping ring 4 - can be omitted, in this case the size of the opening corresponds essentially to the cross section of the housing 1.
