Abstract

According to the invention, the finger of the person to be examined or identified is rolled over a fingerprint surface (4), during which an undistorted contrasty fingerprint is produced in an optical fingerprint device (17). Next, the picture of the fingerprint is directly digitalized, or first recorded by a video camera (6) and then digitalized. From the digitalized data of the finger print picture a grey scale value picture is produced which is then converted into a binary picture and after that is displayed on a monitor (11) and/or stored in a memory (7).

Description

Verfahren zur verzerrungsfreien Erfassung, Untersuchung und Identifikation von Fingerabdrücken und Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des Verfahrens Process for the distortion-free acquisition, examination and identification of fingerprints and device for carrying out the process
The invention relates to a method for distortion-free detection, examination and identification of fingerprints and a device for carrying out the method.
According to DE-OS 34 21 220, a device for imaging objects which are arranged at an oblique angle to the imaging plane using a reflection prism is known, which is acted upon by a light source and is assigned to the object to be imaged. This device has the disadvantage that with a concavely curved design of the contact surface to produce a "rolled" impression, in particular due to a strong astigmatism, even with a large number of optical correction elements such as prisms and lenses, distortion-free image field flattening cannot be achieved. In addition to the high manufacturing costs, the large number of error-prone correction elements results in high maintenance and operating costs.
The object of the invention is to demonstrate a method and a device for carrying out the method with which, in particular, simple and secure identification of "rolled" fingerprints is possible.
According to the invention, the object is achieved in that the finger of the person to be identified is rolled on a fingerprint surface, an undistorted, high-contrast impression image being generated in an optical impression device, in that the impression image is then adapted to the rolling movement of the finger while adapting the digitization process directly digitized or first recorded by a video camera and then digitally lized, then a gray-scale image is generated from the digitized data of the print image, which is then converted into a binary image and then displayed on a monitor and / or stored in a memory and / or printed out and / or forwarded by remote data transmission.
Nach einem weiteren Merkmal der Erfindung weist die Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des Verfahrens eine op- tische Einrichtung mit einem reflektierenden Prisma auf, das von eine Lichtquelle beaufschlagt wird und dem abzubildenden Gegenstand zugeordnet ist, wobei zwischen dem Reflektionsprisma und dem abbildungsseitigen Endab¬ schnitt der optischen Einrichtung Ablenkprismen oder Ablenkkeile zur anamorphotischen Vergrößerung des abzu¬ bildenden Gegenstandes sowie zum Ausgleich des Astigma¬ tismus und eine optische Linse angeordnet ist und wobei die optische Einrichtung mit einer Fingerabrollfläche ausgangsseitig mit einer Zwischenoptik verbunden ist, an die eine Videokamera angeschlossen ist, die mit einemAccording to a further feature of the invention, the device for carrying out the method has an optical device with a reflecting prism, which is acted upon by a light source and is assigned to the object to be imaged, between the reflection prism and the imaging-side end section of the optical device Deflection prisms or deflection wedges for anamorphic enlargement of the object to be imaged and for compensating for astigmatism and an optical lens are arranged, and the optical device is connected on the output side to a finger rolling surface with an intermediate optic to which a video camera is connected, which is connected to a

As shown in FIG. 2, the control monitor 11 and / or the monitor 15 can be arranged in the device housing 3 of the impression device 17. In addition to the finger roll surface 4, a hand rest surface 12 is provided for obtaining the impression (FIG. 2). On the output side, the impression device 17 is connected to a computer unit 18. whose computer 9 can be designed as a microcomputer 13. The microcomputer 13 is connected to a diskette and / or disk memory and / or streamer 14 and / or optical memory and possibly a video recorder 7. The printer 10 connected to the computer unit 18 can be designed as a matrix printer. However, it is advantageous to use a laser printer, LCS printer or LED printer, since these can be used to achieve finer graphic images. It is also possible to use a thermal printer or an inkjet printer.
It is possible to connect different impression devices 17 each with a computer unit 18, several computer units 18 being connected to a common printer 10 (FIG. 4).
The print image is produced on the finger roll surface 4 by rolling the finger of the person to be identified on the finger roll surface 4, the print image being generated by scanning when the finger rolls off. The scanning takes place synchronized to the rolling movement of the finger. For this purpose, the scanning speed can be controlled by a programmed computer. It is also possible to control the scanning speed by means of a special measuring device measuring the rolling movement of the finger. In addition, mechanical mechanical guidance can also be provided, by means of which the rolling movement of the finger is adapted to the scanning speed. The digitization process is adapted to the rolling motion of the finger. 5 shows the processes when acquiring an impression image with the device 1, for example a flow chart. After starting at 20, the finger is rolled on the finger rolling surface 4 (21). Sections of the hand and fingers lying next to one another are placed on the hand support surface 12.
