Abstract

The present invention pertains to the field of aeronautics and more precisely to equipment for the in-flight refuelling of a an aircraft. This invention relates to an in-flight aircraft refuelling system that performs the autonomous search and guidance towards the meeting point of the tanker aeroplane and the aircraft to be refuelled in the absence of any ground navigation system. This system further ensures reliability and security when docking and refuelling in any weather conditions. The refuelling system of the present invention comprises a refuelling boom fitted with a cone and mounted on the tanker aeroplane as well as a refuelling boom onboard the aircraft to be refuelled. This system also uses satellite navigation system (SNS) receivers provided with SNS antennas, UHF radio stations, an additional SNS antenna mounted on the cone as well as a switch.
