The invention relates to a dual-mode mobile radio device with a GSM radio device and a DECT radio device for wireless connection to a GSM and a DECT mobile radio system.
Zwischen den Teilnehmern eines Mobilfunknetzeε bzw. Mobil- funksystems können digitale Daten ausgetauscht werden. Das Mobilfunksystem kann gemäß dem GSM-Standard (FunkübertragungsSystem gemäß den Empfehlungen des CEPT-Un- terausschusses Group Special Mobile oder Global System for Mobile Communication, GSM) oder gemäß dem DECT-Standard (Digital European Cordless Telecommunication, DECT) ausgebildet sein.Digital data can be exchanged between the subscribers of a mobile radio network or mobile radio system. The mobile radio system can be designed in accordance with the GSM standard (radio transmission system in accordance with the recommendations of the CEPT subcommittee Group Special Mobile or Global System for Mobile Communication, GSM) or in accordance with the DECT standard (Digital European Cordless Telecommunication, DECT).
The exchanged digital data can be digitized voice signals, data for fax communication or more generally data for stationary or mobile data processing systems, such as personal computers or notebooks.
For optional connection to the GSM and the DECT mobile radio system, a so-called dual mode mobile radio device can have a GSM and a DECT system. The radio traffic is currently carried out with a GSM mobile radio system in the frequency band from 890 to 950 MHz with a cell size from 1 to 30 km and with a DECT mobile radio system in the frequency band from 1880 to 1900 MHz with a cell size of up to 500 meters. The small cell system of the DECT mobile radio system is preferably operated inside buildings.
In a dual-mode mobile device, two antennas with different lengths are installed. The advantage of using two antennas is that there is little mutual interference between the two antenna connections. The optimal antenna length can also be provided for each mobile radio system. The invention is based on the object of specifying a dual-mode mobile radio device in which the costs and the space required for accommodating the antennas are reduced.
This object is achieved by the features specified in claim 1.
The mobile radio device according to the invention allows a cheaper device design. In addition, mutual field influence when using a single antenna is excluded.
Dabei zei- gen:The invention is described below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing. Show:
Figur 1 das erfindungεgemäße Dual-Mode-Mobilfunkgerät, und die Figuren 2 und 3 die Abstrahlcharakteristiken im GSM und im DECT-Mobilfunksystem.1 shows the dual-mode mobile radio device according to the invention, and FIGS. 2 and 3 show the radiation characteristics in the GSM and in the DECT mobile radio system.
In Figur 1 sind die für das Verständnis der Erfindung notwendigen Schaltungsblöcke eines Dual-Mode-Mobilfunkgerätes MF dargestellt.FIG. 1 shows the circuit blocks of a dual-mode mobile radio MF necessary for understanding the invention.
To connect to the GSM and the DECT mobile radio system, the mobile radio device MF has a GSM system GS and a DECT system DS. In the case of a hybrid construction of the mobile radio MF, these two systems GS and DS are accommodated, for example, on two separate modules. The GSM system GS has a GSM radio device GFE. Analogously to this, the DECT system DS has a DECT radio device DFE. Further circuit blocks of a mobile radio device, such as the logic circuit for signal processing and control of the mobile radio device MF, a user interface with a keyboard and a display device are of secondary importance for the invention and are not shown in the drawing. According to the invention, the dual-mode mobile radio MF has a single antenna A. The antenna A is arranged, for example, between the two modules for the GSM system GS and the DECT system DS.
A is connected via two networks, a so-called duplexer, to the GSM radio device GFE and to the DECT radio device DFE. For the GSM system GS, the duplexer DP has a GSM adapter circuit GAS and a DECT blocking circuit DSS. The GS radio device GFE is connected to the base point of the antenna A via these two networks. On the DECT system DS side, the duplexer DP has a DECT adapter circuit DAS and a GSM blocking circuit GSS. Is over these two networks
DECT-Funkeinrichtung DFE mit dem Fußpunkt der Antenne A verbunden.DECT radio device DFE connected to the base of antenna A.
In a further development of the invention, the antenna adaptation of the DECT output of antenna A, i.e. the GSM blocking circuit DSS and the DECT adapter circuit DAS are arranged on the module of the DECT system DS. Analogue are the antenna adaptation of the GSM output of antenna A, i.e. the DECT blocking circuit DSS and the GSM adapter circuit GAS are arranged on the module of the GSM system GS.
The antenna A has a length of λ / 2 for the GSM system. The radiation characteristic of the λ / 2 antenna A for the GSM system GS is shown in FIG. 2.
For the DECT system DS, this results in a length of λ for the antenna A. The radiation characteristic of the λ antenna A in the DECT range is shown in FIG. 3. Since the DECT mobile radio system is mainly used in closed rooms, more reflections can be expected, which compensate for the unfavorable radiation characteristics of the λ antenna A. The length of the antenna A of the dual-mode mobile device MF is therefore optimized for the 900 MHz range of the GSM mobile radio system, with hardly any losses being incurred in the 1900 MHz range of the DECT mobile radio system due to the spatial reflections that occur.
