Abstract

A method for attaching a reclosable zipper fastener (12) to a flexible material (24) from which a container is made to provide a tamper-evident reclosable seal. A plurality of cuts (30, 32) are formed through a segment of the flexible material to form a removable portion (28). The reclosable zipper fastener is cut to a length sufficient to overly the removable portion. A splotch seal is formed at the ends of the reclosable zipper by applying heat and pressure to yield a flattened, broadened segment at each of said opposed distal ends. The splotch sealed fastener is attached to the flexible material by forming a continuous perimeter seal (26) around the removable portion between the fastener and the flexible material.
