Résumé
System for replaying visual and/or acoustic signals in means of transport and locomotion (10, 7), comprising a wireless transmitter (11), positioned in proximity of the source of said signals, and a container (20), provided with fixing means (21), which houses in the inside a receiver (12), at least a visual signalling device (15) and a supply source (13). The system is applicable to motorcycles and to transport vehicles for goods in general.

1. System for replaying visual and/or acoustic signals on means of transport and locomotion (10), characterised in that it comprises a wireless transmitter (11), positioned in proximity of the source of said signals, and a container (20), provided with fixing means (21), which houses in the inside a receiver (12), at least a visual signalling device (15) and a supply source (13) .
2. System according to claim 1, characterised in that it comprises furthermore an acoustic signaller (16) connected to said receiver.
3. System according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that it comprises furthermore a driving unit (14) connected between said receiver and said visual signalling device (15) .
4. System according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that said visual signalling device (15) comprises a stop light.
5. System according to claim 4, characterised in that said means of locomotion is a motorcycle (7) .
6. System according to claim 5, characterised in that said container (20) consists of an aerodynamic container exteriorly securable to a motorcycle helmet by means of a micro-hooked or double-adhesive tape.
7. System according to claim 6, characterised in that said wireless transmitter (11) is connected in parallel to the brake light of the motorcycle (7) .
8. System according to claim 5, characterised in that said container (20) is applicable to a rear trunk of the motorcycle.
9. System according to claim 8, characterised in that said container has a semi-curved or rounded profile.
10. System according to claim 4, characterised in that said means of locomotion is a lorry.
11. System according to claim 4, characterised in that said means of locomotion is a locomotive for hauled trolleys .
12. System according to claim 4, characterised in that said means of locomotion is a boat.

"SYSTEM FOR REPLAYING A PLURALITY OF VISUAL AND/OR ACOUSTIC SIGNALS IN ME.ANS OF TRANSPORT AND LOCOMOTION"

The present invention refers to a system for replaying visual and/or acoustic signals on means of transport and locomotion.

In several means of transport for people or goods, it is necessary or desirable to make visible the vehicle's visual or acoustic signals in additional positions besides usual positions. Examples of those applications are replicas of tail and brake lights that are mounted in an upper portion of an automobile, in order to increase their visibility to other rear vehicles.

US 4 760 373 describes moreover a motorcycle helmet containing an auxiliary brake light and a receiver which activates the light when it receives a properly coded signal from a transmitter coupled to the motorcycle's brake.

However known devices are limited to the use on automobiles with a wired connection, or on motorcycles, and are able to signal only their braking. Moreover, in the case of an auxiliary signalling device to be mounted on a motorcycle helmet, it is necessary to modify the helmet jeopardising its safety characteristics. It is an object of the present invention to overcome the above mentioned limitations and defects of prior art devices, and in particular to realise a polyvalent system applicable to different types of vehicles, without modifying the vehicle's structure, and with the possibility of adapting the receiving portion to the characteristics and dimensions of the part to which it is applied.

/Another object of the invention is to obtain a cheaper system construction, with a signal repeater which functions can be adapted to different requirements .

These objects are reached from the invention that consists in a system for replaying visual and/or acoustic signals in means of locomotion or transport according to claim 1.

Further advantageous constructive and operative characteristics of the invention are object of dependent claims.

The invention will result more clear from the description with reference to the accompanying drawings, pertinent to preferred embodiments, but not limiting the invention, in which: figure 1 shows schematically the structure of a replaying system according to the invention; figure 2 shows the system according to the invention applied to a motorcycle; figures 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 show the system according to the invention applied to a helmet; figure 8 shows the system according to the invention applied to a motorcycle trunk; figures 9, 10 and 11 show the system according to the invention applied to means of transport for goods; and figure 12 and 13 show respectively a radio transmitter and a radio receiver suitable for the system according to the invention.

In the drawings same reference numbers have been used to mark same or substantially equivalent parts.

With reference to the block diagram of Fig. 1, the system according to the invention is arranged for the application on a vehicle, or more generally on a means of locomotion and/or transport, marked by reference 10 in Fig. 1. Aforesaid vehicle comprises a signalling part 9, typically consisting in acoustic and/or visual signallers, as for example the electric horn or a buzzer coupled to the backing light and/or the set of tail, brake and direction lights, etc. In the more general form, the system according to the invention comprises a wireless transmitter 11, provided with means 8 for fixing to the vehicle 10, and a container 20 for containing: a receiver 12, at least a visual signaller 15 and a power supply unit 13. In the embodiment of Fig. 1, it is moreover provided a unit 14 which receives logic control signals from receiver 12 and drives visual signaller 15, and an acoustic signaller 16.

Moreover, the container 20 comprises means 21 for non permanent fixing to a vehicle's body part or to an other part in a well visible position.

Transmitter 11 can be a radio-frequency or infrared transmitter, able to generate signals recognised by the receiver 12, typically impulsive signals. The power supply unit 13 is preferably a long lasting rechargeable battery. The visual signaller 15 can include one or more lamps, or preferably electroluminescent elements, as LED diodes in a suitable configuration.

The acoustic signaller 16 could be activated together with the buzzer coupled to backing lights of some vehicles, such as lift trucks, diggers or other construction vehicles, boats, or alternatively could be activated by the direction lights of a motorcycle.

Fig. 2 shows the system applied to a motorcycle 7. More precisely, on the motorcycle 7 is mounted the transmitter 11 connected, for example, to tail, brake and direction lights of the vehicle, able to transmit radio-frequency or infrared impulses to a receiver housed in container 20A secured to a motorcycle helmet or, alternatively or in addition, in a container 20B applicable to a motorcycle rear trunk 19.

Figs. 3 and 4 show, in lateral and rear views, an aerodynamic container 20A applicable on an helmet 5.

As shown in Fig. 5, the aerodynamic container 20A can be applied to the rear part of an helmet 5 by means of a micro-hooked strip, or Velcro™, or a double adhesive tape.

Figs. 6 and 7 are respectively a lateral view and a rear view of a container 20B, having a semi-curved or rounded profile, housing a signalling device 15 to be applied to an open type helmet.

Fig. 8 shows a trunk or travelling bag 19 for motorcycle, which can be mounted permanently or temporarily, provided with a container 20B according to the invention, with a linear profile. Fig. 9 shows the system according to the invention applied to a lorry, in particular a curtain covered lorry, in which two containers 20 according to the invention are applied in correspondence of top rear corners of the curtain. In this embodiment, each container 20 comprises only one direction light, which is driven by the receiver selecting the received impulses.

In Fig. 10 a system according to the invention has been applied to the projecting part of a load on a mini- truck for goods transport, while Fig. 11 shows a system according to the invention applied to the last trolley of a trolley train hauled by a locomotive.

7Λn actually preferred embodiment of a radio transmitter and receiver for replaying brake lights of a vehicle, for example a motorcycle, is shown on Figs. 12 and 13, respectively.

The transmitter (whose electric diagram is illustrated in Fig. 12) has an oscillating circuit consisting in a coil Lll, a transistor Qll, resistors R11-R14, capacitors Cll and C12. This stage drives a power stage consisting in transistor Q22, resistors R15 and R16, capacitors C13-C15, a LED Dll and coils L12 and L13. The electric diagram of receiver is shown in Fig. 13 and comprises a tuned circuit consisting in coil LI, transistor Ql, resistors R1-R3, and capacitors C1-C5. The stage that drives four LED' s D1-D4 comprises transistors Q2 and Q3, resistors R4, R5 and R15, capacitors C6-C10, and two diodes D5 and D6. Although the invention has been shown with reference to preferred embodiments, it is susceptible of improvements, modifications or different applications, for example for the use on boats, that are comprised in the protection sphere, as will be evident to a skilled man.
