Abstract
The invention relates to a stackable container, especially for storing and transporting food rations for flight passengers, comprising a base shell (3) and a cover (5) which can be placed on the base shell and removed therefrom (3). The invention also includes joints and fasteners (13, 15) which can be used to fasten the base shell (3) to the cover (5) of an identical container located thereunder. The invention further relates to a method for using the stackable container.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen stapelbaren Behälter, insbesondere für die Aufbewahrung und den Transport von Verpflegungsrationen für Flugpassagiere, mit einer Bodenschale und einer auf die Bodenschale aufsetzbaren und abnehmbaren Abdeckung. Es sind stapelbare Behälter dieser Art bekannt, bei denen die Bodenschale durch ein Tablett gebildet wird, auf welchem eine Abdeckung aufgesetzt werden kann. Durch die Abdeckung wird ein zu transportierendes Gut vor schädlichen Umwelteinflüssen geschützt. Weit verbreitet werden solche Behälter zum Transport von Speisen genutzt, die durch die Abdeckung länger warm bleiben und nicht so schnell austrocknen sollen. Ein wiederkehrendes Problem stellt dabei die Lagerung der Abdeckung dar, wenn diese vom Tablett abgenommen wird. Diese Unzulänglichkeit tritt besonders hervor, wenn eine Vielzahl von Behältern nahezu zur gleichen Zeit geöffnet und ausgegeben werden, wie es beispielsweise bei einer Verköstigung von Passagieren in Flugzeugen der Fall ist.
Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung ist es, den stapelbaren Behälter der eingangs genannten Art derart weiterzubilden, daß die Behälter beim Entnehmen aus dem Stapel leicht geöffnet werden können und eine feste, vorgegebene Lagezuordnung von jeweils einer Bodenschale und einer Abdeckung erhalten bleibt.Stackable containers of this type are known in which the bottom shell is formed by a tray on which a cover can be placed. Die Vorteile der Erfindung liegen insbesondere darin, daß beim oder nach dem Öffnen eine Abdeckung raumsparend mit einer Bodenschale verbunden werden kann. Darüberhinaus benötigt der Behälter sowohl in einem geschlossenen, als auch im geöffnetem Zustand die gleiche Stellfäche, da Bodenschale und Abdeckung in beiden Fällen übereinander liegend angeordnet sind. Beide Merkmale tragen in erheblichem Maße dazu bei, daß der Behälter leicht gehandhabt und raumsparend eingesetzt werden kann. Beim stapeln des erfindungsgemäßen Behälters, insbesondere bei der Durchführung des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens, läßt sich jeweils die Bodnschale eines Behälters auch mit der Abdeckung des unmittelbar darunter befindlichen Behälters verbinden und dann als Einheit aus dem Stapel entnehmen. Bei Entnehmen eines geöffneten Behälters aus dem Stapel wird dann der folgende Behälter gleichzeitig geöffnet, ohne daß in einem zusätzlichen Schritt dessen Abdeckung entfernt oder verstaut werden muß. Es wird demnach die raumsparende Verbindung von Bodenschale mit darunterliegender Abdeckung, ohne einen weiteren Arbeitsschritt, ermöglicht. Ein

Fig. 1 zeigt einen geschlossenen, stapelbaren Behälter 1 mit einer Bodenschale 3 und einer Abdeckung 5. An dem Behälter 1 ist an der Unterseite der Bodenschale 3 in Längsrichtung eine flache Verbindungsnut 1 3 vorgesehen, die sich nahezu über die gesamte Breite des Behälters 1 erstreckt. Auf einem Grundflächenabschnitt der Verbindungsnut stehende Nutenwände begrenzen die Verbindungsnut 1 3 seitlich. Die Nutenwände bilden mit dem Grundflächenabschnitt einen spitzen Winkel und definieren dadurch Hinterschneidungen, mit denen ein komplementärer Verbindungsansatz 1 5, der auf der äußeren Oberfläche der Abdeckung 5 vorgesehen ist, in Eingriff stehen kann. Die Bodenschale 3 und die Abdeckung 5 können somit durch die Verbindungsmittel 1 3 und 1 5 miteinander verbunden werden, indem der Verbindungsansatz 1 5 und die Verbindungsnut 1 3 in Längsrichtung ineinander geschoben werden. Durch diesen Schutz ist es ebenfalls möglich, das Menue bei Temperaturen unterhalb des Gefrierpunktes zu lagern, ohne daß es zu einem Austrocknen der Nahrung kommt. Die geschlossenen Behälter 1 können einzeln oder zu Stapel zusammengeschoben zu einem Flugzeug transportiert werden. Wegen des guten Schutzes der Nahrung ist es möglich, die Behälter 1 mit den Menues in einem Frachtraum des Flugzeugs zu lagern, in dem sehr niedrige Temperaturen herrschen können. Ein automatisches Transportsystem transportiert - bei dieser Verwendungsform - die Behälter 1 während eines Fluges aus dem Frachtraum in einen Passagierbereich, in dem sie vom Flugpersonal in Empfang genommen werden. Auf dem Weg dorthin wird aas Menue auf die Temperatur gebracht, die für den Verzehr vorgesehen ist. Dem Gast wird das Menue in einem bereits geöffneten Behälter 1 serviert und der folgende Behälter 1 im Stapel ist ebenfalls geöffnet und kann in gleicher Weise dem nächsten Gast serviert werden. Nach dem Verzehr wird in umgekehrter Reihenfolge der Stapel wieder aufgebaut und somit ein Stapel von geschlossenen Behältern 1 erzeugt. Die geschlossenen Behälter 1 können anschließend wieder dem automatischen Transportsystem übergeben und in den Frachtraum des Flugzeugs transportiert werden.
