Description

CAR AIR SEAT
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to a car air seat, and more specifically to an air seat to enhance the safety of driver and passengers by exhausting the air in air seat of car seat so that the driver or passenger could retreat backward in case of car crash accident.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The conventional car seats are attached on the floor of car body and they are generally slidable forward and backward. Therefore, a driver and a front passenger can adjust the location and height of the seats in conformity to their body shapes, and then fix the seats at proper position. But, once the position of car seats are adjusted, the car seats are fixed by locking device. Therefore, in case of car crash accident, the instrument panel and steering wheel would rush into the driver and front passenger, who could not retreat backward owing to the fixed car seats. As a result, the driver and front passenger may be pressed into injury between car seat and instrument panel or steering wheel.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The invention is suggested to solve the above mentioned problem, and the object of the invention is to provide the space to which the driver or front passenger could retreat in case of car crash accident, so that the danger for the driver or front passenger to be pressed between car seat and instrument panel or steering wheel should be reduced. According to the invention, there is provided a car air seat system which is composed of an inflated air tube(8) built in cushion(6) of car seat(2), collision detection sensors(20) disposed at front or rear portion of car body, an electronic control unit(18) which is electrically connected to the collision detection sensors(20), and air exhausting unit(lθ) which is connected to and controlled by the electronic control unit(18) and capable of exhausting off the air or gas in air tube(8) when the collision detection sensors(20) detect the impact of car crash.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Figure 1 shows a view of a preferred embodiment of the invention
Figure 2 shows a schematic view of the invention
Figure 3 show a operational view of the invention in car crash accident
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
A preferred embodiment of the invention will be explained below in connection with the attached drawings. Figure 1 and Figure 2 show the air seat according to the invention. Air tubes(8) are built in cushions(6) mounted on frame(4) of car seat(2), especially in seat back. The air tubes(8) are preferably an inflated plastic tubes in which the compressed air is contained, and they are shaped similar to the cushions(6) of car seats.
At a side of air tubes(8) is provided an air exhausting unit(lθ) which is capable of exhausting the air or gas in air tubes(8). This air exhausting unit(lθ) will instantly exhaust off the air in air tubes(8) in case of car crash. The exemplary air exhausting unit(lθ) has a container(12) containing an explosive(lβ) and has an opening(12) faced toward inside of air tubes(8). The explosive(lβ) is explodable by means of ignitor(19). The explosive force will tear the weak point of air tubes(8) so that the air in air tubes(8) could be instantly exhausted. At this time, the explosive(lβ) will be exploded toward inside of air tubes(8) via opening(12) of container(14) that the cushion(β) may not be damaged. And the mixture and amount of explosive(8) are appropriately determined enough to tear the air tubes(8) but not to hurt the cushion(6) and the driver or passenger.
In addition, the air tubes(8) preferably has weak line(17) near the air exhausting unit(lθ) which is easily breakable than any other part of air tubes(8) so that the air tubes(8) could be torn according to the predetermined way. The air exhausting unit(lθ) may employ a mechanical device such as a valve mechanism capable of exhausting gases instantly instead of chemical device utilizing of explosive as mentioned above.
The air exhausting unit(lθ) is electrically connected to an electronic control unit(18), and the electronic control unit(18) is connected to collision detection sensors(20) disposed on the front and rear portion of car body. The collision detection sensors(20) may measure or detect the collision pressure of car crash or the deformation of car body and transfer the data or informations to the electronic control unit(18). The electronic control unit(18) processes the inputted data or informations. If the collision pressure is above the preset value, the electronic control unit(18) may operate the ignitor(19) of air exhausting unit(lθ) to tear the air tubes(8) and exhaust off the air.
If the air in the air tubes(8) in Figure 2 be exhausted off, the cushion(β) may get flat and the volume of cushion(6) and seat(8) will be reduced. So the distance between the instrument panel or steering wheel and driver or passenger will increased. Therefore, the driver or the passenger could be retreated backward as much, which may reduce the possibility of the driver or passenger's being damaged between them.
If the car is equipped with air bag module including collision detection sensors and an electronic control unit in order to avoid the driver's collision into steering wheel or instrument panel, the collision detection sensor(20) and the electronic control unit(18) of the invention may utilize or share the collision detection sensors and electronic control unit of the air bag module. In this occasion, the air seat of the invention will be operated at the same time when the conventional air bag is inflated at the car crash accident, which will enhance the safety of driver and passenger.
In the preferred embodiment, the air tube(8) of the air seat according to the invention may be partitioned into several sections, and volume of each section of air tube(8) may be individually adjusted in conformity to user's body shape or user's tastes.
As described above, according to the invention, there is provided an car air seat which has an air tube(8) built in a cushion of seat which is exhaustible in case of car crash accident, so that the space between instrument panel and seat should be widen and the driver or the passenger could retreat backward to reduce the damage of car crash.
