Abstract

Decorative and warning lamp consisting of a base (1), a shaft (2) made of insulating material, and an upper part which forms a flower made up of a central part (10) and an appropriate number of petals (7), characterised in that the central part (10) consists of a bulbous component (10) inside of which there are two suitable light bulbs (8 and 9), the petal-shaped elements (7), on a sliding ring (4) on the shaft which acts as its support, being able to move by virtue of said supporting ring (4), so that they close or open respectively, in order to cover or uncover the bulbous component, thus allowing different colours to be obtained depending on the colour of the material that forms the central component, the material used for the petals (7) and for the light bulbs.

Description

DESCRIPTION
DECORATIVE AND WARNING LAMP"
The present invention relates to a decorative and warning lamp.
Lamps are already known which are composed of artificial flowers and may contain electrical elements such as light bulbs and whose flowers consist of various parts, for example petals which can move in order to cover or uncover the light bulb.
Of these lamps, mention must be made of the subject-matter of the document US 4910647 which specifically describes a lamp consisting of a base, a shaft and a light bulb at the top, which can be enveloped by petals activated by the user.
Luminous warning devices for use in restaurants and similar places are also known, such as the one described in the document US 5489887.
However, the present invention is different from the known lamps and warning lights.
For an easier understanding of the invention, the description given below makes reference to the sheet of drawings attached hereto, in which:
Figure 1 represents a main elevation of the lamp showing the electrical component; Figure 2 represents the lamp with the petals open and the yellow light bulb 8 switched on;
Figure 3 represents a similar view to figure 2 with the red light bulb 9 switched on;
Figure 4 also represents a main elevation but with the petals in the closed position.
As can be seen in the attached drawings, the lamp which is the subject of the invention consists essentially of a base 1 from which a shaft 2 projects, at the top of which there is a component made of a suitable material with a bulbous shape 10 containing inside two light bulbs 8 and 9. On top of the shaft 2 a ring 4 is fitted which can move up and down a particular path along the shaft 2. Arms 5 are mounted on the ring 4 which support petal-shaped components 7 at their top end. As can be seen, said arms 5 consist of two sections 11 and 12 which articulate with each other and also with the ring 4 and each petal 7 respectively. As can be understood from the drawings, the upward movement of the ring pushes the petals 7, which move in such a way as to envelop the bulbous component 10 that contains the red and yellow light bulbs 8 and 9.
The control switch 3 for the light bulbs 8 and 9 is mounted on the inside or outside of the shaft 2, as well as the electrical wires connected to the light bulbs 8 and 9.
The functioning of this lamp is extremely simple, as described above. If the petals 7 are open (figures 2 and 3), the user moves the abovementioned πng upwards in order to push the petals so that they envelop the bulbous component 10 (figure 4). In order to open the petals 7 the ring is moved in the opposite direction.
The colours of the bulbous component 10 and the petals 7 can be chosen in such a way as to create a decorative and warning effect respectively. The bulbous component 10 is preferably a yellow colour, the petals 7 a red colour, one of the light bulbs being yellow 8 and the other red 9.
Therefore, if the user wishes to warn a restaurant worker, for example, by closing the petals 7 around the bulbous component 10, this will give the lamp a red warning colour, or the user could simply switch on the red light bulb 9 (figure 3).
The electrical component, which can be fed by an alternating or continuous current, is preferably placed inside the shaft 2 of the lamp. The light bulbs 8 and 9 can therefore be switched on or off by moving the ring 4, if the switch 6 is positioned inside the shaft, or by the actual user if the switch 6 is positioned on the outside.
Different colours can be obtained either by virtue of the materials used for the bulbous component 10 and the petals 7, or by virtue of the colours of the actual light bulbs 8 and 9.
As will be obvious to any person skilled in the art, numerous modifications are possible, which should nevertheless be considered as falling within the scope of the following claims.

Claims

1. Decorative and warning lamp consisting of a base 1, a shaft 2 made of insulating material, and an upper part which forms a flower made up of a central part 10 and an appropriate number of petals 7, characterised in that the central part 10 consists of a bulbous component 10 inside of which there are two suitable light bulbs 8 and 9, the petal-shaped elements 7, on a sliding ring 4 on the shaft which acts as its support, being able to move by virtue of said supporting ring 4, so that they close or open respectively, in order to cover (figure 4) or uncover (figures 2 and 3) the bulbous component, thus allowing different colours to be obtained depending on the colour of the material that forms the central component, the material used for the petals 7 and for the light bulbs.
2. Decorative and warning lamp according to the previous claim, characterised in that each of the aforementioned petals 7 is duly supported by an arm 5 consisting of two separate sections 11 and 12, which articulate with each other and articulate with the petals 7 and the aforementioned supporting ring 4.
3. Decorative and warning lamp according to the previous claims, characterised in that the aforementioned shaft 2 is equipped with the electrical connections necessary for the light bulbs 8 and 9 to function and a switch 3 with one or more positions for controlling said functioning.
4. Decorative and warning lamp according to the previous claims, characterised in that the light bulbs 8 and 9 are activated by alternating or continuous current.
