Abstract

L'invention concerne un projet de gestionnaire couplé à un réseau informatique, tel qu'Internet. Dans un mode de réalisation, l'environnement de la gestion de projet comprend également un serveur spec pour compléter des spécifications, établir des demandes de prix, effectuer des ordres d'achat, etc. Un projet d'arborescence représente des objets de gestion de projet, lesquels peuvent être de toute sorte. Les types d'objets sont définis pour chaque implantation particulière du système. Des entités organisationnelles, groupes de travail, individus, projets, budgets, tâches, coûts, feuilles de temps, spécifications, réquisitions, ordres d'achat, listes 'à faire', etc., sont notamment des exemples caractéristiques de types d'objets de gestion de projet. Les objets sont organisés en structure hiérarchique de données, dite arborescence de gestion de projet ou arborescence de projet. Dans chaque arborescence de projet, chaque objet renferme plusieurs procédés qui décrivent le comportement dudit objet. Ces procédés comprennent, par exemple, des procédés qui décrivent comment ajouter l'objet à l'arborescence, le réviser et le supprimer de l'arborescence et l'archiver. Une classe infinie d'objets est documentée, ce qui permet de personnaliser les systèmes, quel que soit le type d'environnement. Dans un mode de réalisation type, l'utilisateur principal configure l'environnement initial du système de gestion de projet comprenant la mise en place de la structure de l'entreprise, la définition des utilisateurs, la spécification des groupes d'utilisateurs, les droits d'accès des utilisateurs, les mots de passe, etc. Une fois le système initial configuré, les utilisateurs se connectent au système de gestion de projet, qu'ils soient à l'intérieur ou à l'extérieur de l'entreprise. Le système détermine l'identité de l'utilisateur et, sur la base de son identité et de ses droits d'accès, lui présente une vue particulière de l'arborescence de gestion de projet personnalisée qui lui est destinée. L'utilisateur peut alors naviguer à travers les sections de l'arborescence de projet auxquelles il a droit. Il peut interagir avec le système de gestion de projet en exécutant des fonctions sur la partie de l'arborescence de projet dans laquelle il est autorisé à exécuter des fonctions, lesquelles sont notamment l'adjonction, la révision, la suppression et l'archivage d'objets de gestion de projet.
