- Electric hair dryers are designed to produce a flow of air which is heated by an electrical resistance and which is supplied by the hair dryer which is equipped with a fan for this purpose.
- the very design of the hair dryer in particular its cylindrical geometry of round section which must include a rotary fan, leads to the creation of an air flow with round section.
- a nozzle of this type can be fixedly mounted on the outlet opening of the hair dryer, but most often it is a removable nozzle.
- French patent 2,640,857 to BONTOUX illustrates an arrangement of nozzles configured in a deformable material. The rotation of the nozzle generates a mechanism for modeling the cylindrical opening of the nozzle in a rectangular configuration so as to generate a laminar air flow.
- the present invention aims to provide a nozzle, removable or not, for a hair dryer, which can be easily modified from a first configuration providing a flow of hot air having a round section, until a air flow with substantially rectangular section, that is to say wide and flat.
- the term "rectangular” should of course be understood to include shapes having slightly rounded or even ovalized corners or sides. Similarly the term “round” can apply to slightly ovalized shapes.
- the invention more specifically aims to provide a mechanism, which is adaptable or integrated into the hair dryer, in order to easily allow a variable shape of the nozzle so that it is capable of delivering an air flow section round as well as a broad, flat air flow.

- the flaps 9 are parallel to the axis of the air flow corresponding to the shape of the shell 3, and the drawers 5 are returned. As shown, the upper walls 5A of the two drawers slide under the upper flap and the lower walls 5B of these same drawers cover the lower flap.
- the flow of hot air continues to maintain a round section which is simply divided into three longitudinal sections in the shell 3.
- the configuration of the lateral face of the drawers can of course be adapted to be slightly rounded, so as to conform, in the folded position, to the generally circular shape of the ferrule 3.
- pivots or any suitable equivalent means can be provided.
- the drawers 5 can be pivoted relative to the geometric axes 7 so as to flatten the outlet orifice until reaching the position shown in FIGS. 2 and 4.
- the flaps 9 are raised so as to come to be applied, by pivoting with respect to the geometric axes 11, on the inner part of the ferrule 3.
- the air flow at the start of the round section, therefore strikes the flaps 9 and is directed towards the axis of the ferrule 3.
- the air flow can also deviate to the left and to the right by following the lateral face of the drawers 5 now deployed, so as to obtain an air flow which is of substantially rectangular shape such as which represents. All appropriate means can be provided to achieve this transformation.
- Springs can for example be provided so that the flaps 9 and the drawers 5 are biased so as to maintain the position shown in Figures 2 and 4.
- a force for example using a ring (not shown) slightly larger in diameter than the ferrule 3 and which is slid so as to gradually cover the drawers 5 from the rear to the front, it becomes possible, against the force of the spring, to retract the drawer towards the position of FIGS. 1 and 3.
- the flaps 9 can be brought back in alignment with the axis of the ferrule 3.
- the drawers can also be easily folded back, practically without interference with the movement of the flaps 9.
- a slight leave may be provided, either at the level of the drawers (ends of the upper face or the lower face) or at the flaps if necessary.
