Abstract

The invention relates to an agent for preventing post-operative inflammations, especially following the implantation of objects, particularly stents and pacemakers. The agent is for use in the field of medicine and in the pharmaceutical industry and is characterised in that it contains fullerenes as antioxidative free-radical scavengers. These are preferably fullerenes with 60-100 C-atoms, derivatised fullerenes and high molecular fullerene nanofibres. The agent can also contain a resorbable layer consisting of biodegradable polymers or antiproliferative substances.
