Abstract

The invention relates to a server system and a method for automatically determining, monitoring and transmitting data relating to the current value of individual portfolios of products whose market values change over time, such as especially, stocks and shares, future contracts, derivatives and other products traded on stock exchanges and futures exchanges; between a client system comprising at least one signal generating unit and a loudspeaker, and a server system comprising at least one data processing unit, a memory and means of producing announcements that are output on a loudspeaker. Said server system can directly or indirectly consult market value tables which are continually or intermediately updated. The portfolio data and an identification code identifying the portfolio or the user are stored in the memory of the server system. The invention enables a client to receive data relating to the value of any portfolio created by himself with a single request. This request can be made at the clients leisure, for example by telephone. It is therefore no longer necessary to dial into a bank or broker house computer via the Internet.
