Abstract

An error correction amplifier (20) includes a main amplifier (30), a second amplifier (58) coupled in a feed-forward arrangement to the main amplifier (30), and a balancing network (38). The main amplifier (30) receives an input signal (IN) and generates an amplified signal (32) having a main component (Gsin) and an error component (N). The balancing network (38) isolates a sample of the amplified signal (32), inverts the sample, and combines the sample with a signal (Sin(2+1/L^2)) to produce the signal (Sin-(N/G)(1+1/L^2)) to be amplified by the second amplifier (58). The second amplifier (58) generates an output signal (60) having a main component (GSin) and an error component (-N/L^2). A summing point (70) combines the output signals from the main amplifier (30) and the second amplifier (58) in an unequal manner such that the error components substantially cancel each other and the main components are added to one another.
