Description

Mobiltelefon mit einer FlachantenneMobile phone with a flat antenna
The invention relates to a mobile phone (cell phone) with a flat antenna provided in the housing of the cell phone.
Andere Mobilfunknetze arbeiten in anderen Frequenzbereichen.Mobile phones are designed for either a single frequency band or for different frequency bands. For example, the so-called D network operates in the frequency range between 880 and 960 MHz and the so-called E network in the frequency range between 1710 and 1880 MHz. Other cellular networks operate in other frequency ranges.
Mobiltelefone mit einer Stabantenne besitzen eine gleichmäßigeCell phones with a rod antenna have a uniform one
Radiation characteristics of the rod antenna. A considerable amount of energy is absorbed by the body or, in particular, the head of the cell phone user. This share is of the order of 38% of the input power. Approximately 12% of the power fed in is absorbed by the hand of the mobile phone user. Since neither line losses nor dielectric losses occur, approximately 50% of the radiated power is consequently absorbed or approximately 50% of the power fed into such a rod antenna of a mobile telephone is actually radiated.
The influence of electromagnetic waves on the head of a cell phone user has not yet been clarified or controversial, but an improvement in the antenna characteristics leads to less stress on the head of a cell phone user and a simultaneous improvement in the transmission quality because, with the same electrical energy, the transmission quality of the corresponding cell phone ' s is improved. For this purpose, ie to improve the antenna characteristics with regard to a reduction in the load on the head of the cell phone user while improving the transmission quality, flat antennas are known which are arranged on the inside of the rear wall of the cell phone housing. Such flat antennas result in a reduction in the power absorbed in the head of the mobile phone user from the above-mentioned order of magnitude 38% to approx. 7%. However, the power absorbed in the hand of the mobile phone user increases from the approx. 12% mentioned to an order of magnitude of 23%. With such flat antennas, approximately 70% of the electrical power is actually radiated.
Die Metallbeschichtung bedingt einenIn the known cell phones, the flat antenna arranged on the inside of the rear wall of the cell phone housing has so far been realized in 2-component technology. The areas corresponding to the flat antenna structure consist of a metallizable plastic. The metallization of these surface areas is done by galvanic or chemical means. The metal coating requires one
Manufacturing expenses that affect manufacturing costs accordingly. Another shortcoming of flat antennas manufactured in this way in 2-component technology is that design changes to the flat antenna are hardly possible or only with considerable effort.
The invention has for its object to provide a mobile phone with a flat antenna that is simple and inexpensive to implement.
This object is achieved by the features of claim 1, that is, in that the flat antenna consists of an embossed metal foil. Such an embossed flat antenna is simple and inexpensive to manufacture. Another advantage of such a flat antenna is that design changes to the flat antenna are comparatively simple because only the stamping die has to be modified accordingly. According to the invention, the metal foil of the flat antenna can be embossed on an antenna substrate arranged in the mobile phone housing. Such a design has the advantage that the flat antenna embossed on the antenna substrate can be used without problems in various mobile telephones. The respective antenna substrate can be, for example, a plate made of a plastic material.
Another possibility is that the metal foil of the flat antenna is embossed on the inside of a housing shell of the mobile phone housing.
Regardless of whether the flat antenna is embossed on an antenna substrate or on the inside of a housing shell of the mobile phone housing, care must of course be taken to ensure that the flat antenna is contacted with the electronic circuit of the mobile phone.
Metal foils as used according to the invention are described, for example, in patent applications 198 57 157, 199 32 597 and 199 37 843.
