Abstract

Improved techniques to record a broadcasted program for later viewing are disclosed. According to one aspect of the invention, a system and method are able to pause an ongoing program that is being broadcasted upon a receiving a pause request from a subscriber. According to a second aspect of the invention, a system and method are able to replay a previously paused program to permit later viewing by a subscriber.
