Description

METHOD OF CORRECTING TIME IN INTERNET AND TRADING TIME MANAGEMENT METHOD USING THEREOF
TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to a method for correcting times on the internet and a commercial trading technology using the same.
BACKGROUND ART
In recent, the internet is widely used, which consists of plural computers connected through communication links and a computer network. Computers connected one another can exchange information through the use of diverse services such as electronic mails, gopher, FTP, and World Wide Web(WWW). The World Wide Web(WWW) service is a service which enables a server computer system, that is, a web server to transfer web page information written in the HTML to client systems remote far away. Each resource, that is, each computer or each homepage, on the world wide web is given a uniform resource locator(URL) which is unique to it, and, if a client system requires a transfer of a specific web page by designating a URL of the corresponding web page to view the web page, a server system transfers the corresponding web page information in response to the request according to the HTTP protocol. Further, if the client system receives the web page, the system displays it on the monitor through a browser in general.
In the meantime, in various electronic devices including computers at present, time-managing methods are classified into a method in which a user manually sets corresponding timer and present time upon turning on main electric power, and a method for managing times regardless of the turning on and off of the main electric power after storing time data in a memory. In the former case, there exists a problem in that precise time setting is difficult due to the obscurity of the reference time, an error resulting from user's eye measurements, a delay resulting from user's manipulation period of time, and so on, and, in the latter case, there exists a problem that time is not precisely set due to the inaccuracy of an initial time and the like. In particular, since an internal clock which operates for time is not accurate, errors can occur in a range from several seconds to minutes a day.
Despite the occurrence of such time errors, critical problems have not been risen since the time information in general electronic appliances is used in fields such as video reservation records, alarms, automatic power-on and power-off, and so on, which not relatively require accurate time.
However, commercial trading using the internet are actively being done with the developments of the internet and various fields in science and technology require more precise time, so that the conventional inaccurate time needs to be corrected. That is, in the electronic commerce business, in case of financial services, trading times are very critical. For example, in the home trading system(HTS) using the internet which is activated, a financial loss may occur according to trading times, and the liability party to the loss may be determined by the trading times. In case that customers suffer losses due to the incompletion of buying and selling with an order system breakdown of a security institution in recent, the arbitration decision has been made public that the security institution is liable for the losses. At this time, in order for the customers to get compensations, accurate time records for trading orders inputted are required. However, order times and order logs do not remain at the sides of the customers in the present trading system. Although remained, the customers are likely to suffer losses since the accuracy of times is not secured.
DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION In order to fulfill the necessity as stated above, it is an object of the present invention to provide a method for correcting times on the internet and managing commercial trading times by using the corrected times, capable of correcting system times by using the internet and carrying out commercial trading by using the corrected times.
In order to achieve the above object, a method for correcting times according to the present invention, in a method for correcting times on the internet, comprises steps of producing a certain standard time and providing the produced time through the internet; and downloading the standard time through a user computer and correcting a computer time. Further, in order to achieve the above object, a method for managing commercial trading times in the electronic commerce business according to the present invention, in an electronic commerce business method using the internet, comprises steps of correcting a time of a user computer to a certain standard time; connecting and transferring the user computer time to a commercial trading site; comparing the time transferred from a user with a time of a commercial trading system and providing certain time authentication information if the times coincide; and executing the commercial trading according to the authenticated time, and storing and managing respective trading logs.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The above object and other advantages of the present invention will become more apparent by describing in detail a preferred embodiment thereof with reference to the attached drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a view for showing an internet system structure according to an embodiment of the present invention;
FIG. 2 is a flow chart for showing procedures a time server goes through according to an embodiment of the present invention;
FIG. 3 is a flow chart for showing procedures for correcting times in a user computer according to the present invention; and
FIG. 4 is a flow chart for showing stock trading procedures for a commercial trading example according to an embodiment of the present invention.
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION Hereinafter, a preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
FIG. 1 is a view for showing an internet system structure according to an embodiment of the present invention, which has a user computer 102 connected to the internet, a time information providing site 120, and a security site 130. As shown in FIG. 1, the user computer 102 is installed with a web browser for connecting to the internet 110 and software for the electronic commerce business. Therefore, if the user computer 102 downloads time information by connecting to the time information providing site 120 through the internet 110, the user computer 102 can correct time through its internal setting procedure. In usual, time information in a computer system can be set in the CMOS RAM, EEPROM, or the like. Further, the time information-providing site 120 includes a standard time-generating unit 124 and a time server 122, which can provide time information through the internet, and the security site 130 provides cyber security trading services(home trading services) by using time the time information-providing site 120 provides or the standard time therein. The standard time-generating unit 124 of the time information-providing site
120 generates the standard time by using GPS and the like, and the time server 122 receives the accurate standard time from the standard time-generating unit 124 and then provides the received time to those who connect to the internet. At this time, the time information can be provided to all people who connect to the internet freely or in limited conditions such as only for members, with payments, and so on.
As an example of the electronic commerce business, the security site 130 which supports cyber stock trading is a computer system for stock trading in the cyber space, which includes a web server, a database system, and so on. Further, an internal clock a computer system in a security institution can be used for the time information of the security site 130, and time information provided from the time information- providing site 120 can be used for the time information of the security site 130.
Next, descriptions will be made on time settings and stock trading executions by using the set time according to an embodiment of the present invention.
FIG. 2 is a flow chart for showing procedures a time server goes through according to an embodiment of the present invention.
As shown in FIG. 2, the time information-providing site 120 produces accurate standard times by using a GPS system and the like, and provides standard time information to internet-connecting users(201 and 202). At this time, the providing of the standard times may be limited to members or those who pay fees or be free to all people that connect to the internet.
FIG. 3 is a flow chart for showing procedures for correcting times in a user computer according to the present invention. As shown in FIG. 3, the user computer 102 is connected upon power-on or periodically to the time server to update its time. That is, when the system is turned on or when the system determines a predetermined time period lapses through the counting of time after a time correction, the system connects to the time server(301 and 302).
Next, the system downloads a standard time from the time server 122 and calculates a network delay time(303 and 304). The delay time calculating technology used for internet phones and the like can be employed for the calculation of the network delay time, which can precisely calculate a delay time based on a traffic amount and the like.
Next, the system corrects the standard time by taking into consideration the network delay time and a delay time for setting, and sets the time information of the user computer to the corrected standard time(305 and 306). Accordingly, the user computer 102 operates with accurate standard times. Further, the system periodically repeats such time correction procedures(307).
Accordingly, all electronic commerce businesses can be executed as well as logs can be managed by using user computers corrected in the standard times according to the present invention as stated above.
FIG. 4 is a flow chart for showing stock trading procedures for a commercial trading example according to an embodiment of the present invention.
As shown in FIG. 4, the user computer system 102 is connected to the cyber security site 130(401). At this time, the user computer 102 transfers the time information of the user computer system to the security site.
The security site 130 corrects the time information received from the user computer in consideration of a network delay time and the like, and compares the corrected time with an internal time(402). As a result of the comparison, if the times coincide with a certain tolerance error range, the security site 130 provides time authentication information to a corresponding user(404). The user executes stock trading with the authenticated time, and manages trading logs with the time authentication information by himself or herself.
If the times do not coincide in the step 403, the time information of the security site is downloaded to the user computer 102 to correct the time of the user computer 102, the corrected time information of the user information is transferred to'-! the security site 103, and the procedures are repeated from the step 402(406 and 407). At this time, the user computer 102 downloads the time information not from the security site 130, but from the time server 122 of the time information-providing site 120 of providing the time information according to the present invention, and then the above steps can be repeated.
With the present invention as stated above, times can be corrected by downloading time information from a standard time-providing site on the internet, so the times of respective subjects are in synchronization on the internet, to thereby enable the commercial trading times to be more accurately managed.
As stated above, the present invention has an effect in that, since a service site for providing standard times on the internet provides accurate standard times to members or those who connect to the internet, accurate times can be provided to sites or users that need precise times, and, in case that the users who use the accurate times carry out electronic commerce businesses, commercial trading times can be precisely managed by synchronizing times. In particular, the present invention has an advantage in that, since users have precise trading times and logs as well in case of a stock trading system, a liability party can be definitely judged in case that trading is not completed properly due to an error of a security institution.
