Abstract

Method and apparatus for a direct ring system configured to provide a telephone extesion number and an outpulse character string to an automated telephone answering system so that an incoming call is directly connected to the telephone corresponding to the telephone extension number. The outpulse character string and extension number automatically navigates through the prompts requred by the automated telephone answering system transparent to the caller so that a caller is in effect 'directly' connected to a person they wish to reach.
