Abstract

Building a data service (108) for transmission to a selected type of data display platform (121). Such data services generally comprise a data component and a software component. The software application component executes on a data display platform (121) to display elements of the data component, in response to commands generated by a user. In the present disclosure an application data model (112) is used to build a software application component, which is able to access data configured to conform to the application data model (112). Service data in a first configuration generic to a variety of data display platform types (104) is then converted to a second configuration conforming to the application data model (112), in order to provide the data component. The use of a content data model (106) intermediate to the raw formats of the service content data (102) and the application data model (112) is disclosed.
