Abstract

The invention relates to a method for the automatic creation and maintenance of e-mail information services.

So far, e-mail directory services have depended on the participants entering themselves in the corresponding databases. This affects both the entry with your own e-mail provider and the entry with third-party providers and directories.

As a result, it often happens that you urgently need the email address of a certain person, but you cannot find it because the subscriber in question has not registered in any email directory.

The object of the invention is to propose a method for the automatic creation and maintenance of e-mail information services with which extensive directories can be created and made accessible to the participants.

This object is achieved by the features of patent claim 1.

According to the invention, e-mail subscriber data are automatically recorded in at least one freely accessible information database with the consent of the subscriber. Each participant's email data is stored in a participant database at the email provider. In order for the data to be entered into the information database, the consent of the participants must first be obtained.

This can be done automatically, for example, by contacting the participants with a mailing campaign (letter, e.g. with the invoice) or an e-mail campaign (confirmation or rejection by the customer by email) and asked for their consent. The latter can be done internally and automated.

A flag can then be set in the subscriber database, which indicates whether the subscriber has consented to the inclusion of his e-mail address in the information database or not.

The subscriber database and the information database can be one and the same database, the flag indicating whether the subscriber has released his subscriber data record for third-party access or not.

On this basis, requests for information can take place, or automated queries of new participants as well as participants who have previously refused to publish their email address.

For new participants, it is of course alternatively possible to specify in the participant contract that they consent to the publication of the email address.

Optionally, passwords for changing the addresses can be automatically sent to the participants.

An alternative automatic change procedure is that the subscriber can call up a change page at the provider and can optionally block or release his address. There is no password absolutely necessary if he can only call up his own change page and this is protected by the access data (change as a personalized service).

All participant data records of the participants that have agreed to the publication of their participant data are then automatically transferred to the information database.

The email information can thus be made much more efficient.

A further development of the invention consists in the fact that as many domestic and foreign participants as possible from other network operators or providers are included in this. Directory can be entered.

This can be done by creating comparable databases for network operators and providers and having the same branching options. Alternatively, this can be done; that agreements on the delivery of addresses are made with other operators / providers.

4. The method according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the third party access to the corresponding subscriber date is released or blocked by setting or deleting the flag.
