Abstract

A method and apparatus for providing enhanced accessory support in a portable communication apparatus (10) primarily adapted for telecommunication is disclosed. An external accessory device (22) is attached to the portable communication apparatus (10) having a display (12) with a visual presentation area. Accessory information is sent from the external accessory device (22) to the portable communication apparatus (10) and the received accessory information is displayed in a subarea (54) of the display (12).
