Abstract

An on demand media rental system (10) includes a plurality of media devices (15, 17, 19) where an individual rented one of the media devices (15, 17, 19) is responsive to a user controlled remote control device (27) that facilitates the accessing and controlling of the playback of a user selected media source that is disposed in the individual rented one of the media devices (15, 17, 19).
