Abstract

The invention relates to a packaging (1) comprising an insertable cover (4) having at least one insertable tongue which can be inserted into a receiving opening (5) in order to close the packaging. In order to render the packaging childproof, said insertable tongue comprises a blocking means, preferably in the form of a blocking strip (7) which engages behind a blocking ledge (10) when the cover is closed. A targeted force must be exerted on the blocking strip in order to open the insertable cover, to which end a releasing opening (14) is provided.

Description

PACKING, IN PARTICULAR FOLDING CARTON OR CARDBOARD LAMINATE

The invention relates to a packaging, in particular a folding box made from cardboard or from cardboard laminate, according to the preamble of claim 1.

Packaging of this type is used for various purposes, including in the pharmaceutical industry for the packaging of medicines. They are easy to manufacture, fill and close on automatic packaging lines and are also user-friendly. Until the contents of the package are finally used up, the packaging can be closed again and again with the insert lid.

It is already known to provide comparable packaging of the same type with a guarantee function which indicates the first opening. These are, for example, tearable perforations, security bands or security seals. Once opened, the contents of the package are easily accessible for children because the insert lid can be opened easily. Such easy access is evident, in particular for pharmaceutical products, but also for other goods such as Insecticides, plant fertilizers, etc. undesirable because of their toxic effects. Child-safe packaging is already known, in which a slide with the packaged goods can be pulled out of an outer wrapper. This is only possible after appropriate manipulation of the outer casing. An example of such packaging is described in US-A 6 047 829.

It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a packaging of the type mentioned, which does not affect the other functions are also childproof, ie which can only be opened by knowing certain manipulations. The term child safety is defined by relevant guidelines known to the person skilled in the art. According to this, the packaging must not be able to be opened within a certain time within a randomly selected group of children of a certain age group.

The object is achieved by a packaging which has the features in claim 1. The arrangement of the locking means on the tongue ensures in the simplest way that a properly closed packaging is secured and that no additional manipulations are required for the securing. The locking can only be released by a targeted force on the locking means, this function is not visible to children. Nevertheless, the packaging is also user-friendly for older people and opening it does not require any complicated manipulations. The force on the locking means and the opening of the plug-in lid are preferably carried out simultaneously in order to achieve a high degree of security. The need for children to perform two movements simultaneously is not apparent. In certain cases, however, it would be conceivable for the locking means to remain in a released position after the force has been applied and for the cover to be opened later. The locking device only snaps back into place after reclosing.

The locking means is particularly advantageously a locking strip arranged on the insertion tongue, which forms a V-shaped element with the insertion tongue in cross section, the tip of which is directed towards the bottom and the end facing the insertion lid can be locked behind a locking edge in the region of the receiving opening. With such a barrier strip, rela- tiv large forces are absorbed, the lock can be released by low pressure. The locking strip forms a kind of pawl that does not offer any great resistance to closing the lid.

The receiving opening for the insertion tongue can be arranged at least partially in an additional wall section, which is connected to an end wall section and which, when the packaging is closed, runs parallel to the floor, the blocking edge being formed by an edge region of the receiving opening in the additional wall section. However, it would also be conceivable that the receiving opening is arranged exclusively on an end wall section or even on the bottom of the packaging.

The locking strip can face the end wall section, at least one unlocking opening being arranged in the end wall section, through which a force can be exerted on the locking strip to release the locking. Alternatively, however, the locking strip can also face away from the end wall section, at least one unlocking opening being arranged in the plug-in cover, through which a force can be exerted on the locking strip to release the locking. Finally, it is also conceivable that the locking strip faces away from the end wall section and that at least one unlocking opening is arranged in the bottom through which a force can be exerted on the locking strip to release the locking. The unlocking opening basically allows access to the blocking strip, although this is not necessarily sufficient for opening the cover. In addition, it must be known in what way a force must be exerted on the barrier strip in order to release the barrier. In certain cases, however, it is also conceivable that the locking is not released by direct action on the blocking strip, but by a relative displacement between the plug-in cover and the end wall section or the additional wall section. This can be done only by appropriate deformation of the closed package, the required pressure points must be known. However, it is also conceivable for at least one handle opening to be arranged in the bottom and / or in the plug-in cover in an area facing the rear wall section, through which the extended additional wall section can be displaced relative to the plug-in cover.

A support wall section can be arranged on the additional wall section, which is arranged approximately parallel to the end wall section next to the locking edge. The additional wall section ensures that the locking strip is always held in the correct locking position. This is particularly important if the blocking strip is not fixed, but is designed to be freely resilient. In such a case, the support wall section limits the maximum possible opening angle of the barrier strip. The stability of the packaging is also increased by the additional wall section.

Before opening the packaging for the first time, the unlocking openings can be closed with a break-out guarantee section to ensure a guarantee function. Access to the barrier strip and thus opening the packaging is therefore not possible at all without removing the guarantee section, which means that a first-time opening is also indicated in the simplest way. Such a guarantee section can of course also close the handle openings mentioned above in the bottom and / or in the insert lid. In the case of an additional or an alternative guarantee function, the additional wall section can extend as far as the rear wall section, with a guarantee opening closed by a guarantee section being arranged in the latter. The outer edge of the additional wall section facing the rear wall section also has a guarantee tongue which penetrates the guarantee opening when the latching is released for the first time. This guarantee function is particularly suitable for those catches that can be released by relational sliding between the cover and the front wall section or additional wall section.

As already mentioned, the end of the locking strip can be designed to be freely resilient. This has the advantage that no additional gluing operations or the like are required. However, it is also possible for the end of the locking strip to be connected to the plug-in cover or to the plug-in tongue via a connecting section. The blocking strip together with the tongue always form a stable wedge with a constant wedge angle.

Further advantages can be achieved if the above-mentioned additional wall section is designed as a fold-out carrier section on which a packaged product is held captively. For example, the carrier section can carry a blister film with welded-in packaging material, it having openings through which the packaging material can be pressed out of the blister film. The carrier section mentioned can be formed in two layers, the blister film being held between the two layers. Instead of a blister film, the carrier section could also be equipped with other packaged goods, such as tear-off individual containers or the like. A bli- ster film can also be sealed freely pivoted on the additional wall section.

The packaging is particularly advantageously made from a single blank, which can be erected into a stable box by folding and gluing operations.

It is also advantageous if the packaging is approximately cuboid in shape and if it has two hollow side walls running at right angles to the rear wall section, each with an outer wall and an inner wall, which can be erected like a parallellogram from the plane of the floor. The hollow side walls result in a particularly advantageous stability, the packaging being particularly resistant to pressure. Nevertheless, the prefabricated blank can be delivered in a flat state, this blank being easy to handle on the packaging line.

Finally, the side wall of the packaging can have four fold-out side wall sections which are connected at the ends that abut each other via a joint fold. As a result, each side wall section can be folded out into the plane of the floor on its own, which, depending on the type of packaging, has advantages in filling the packaging. On the other hand, a dustproof and access-proof connection is also guaranteed at the corners of the packaging. Of course, the side wall of the packaging or the floor plan of the floor could also be polygonal or curved. Only in the area of the insertion tongue should a straight side wall section be arranged over a certain distance in order to ensure secure locking. The packaging can be made from cardboard or from a laminate. A cardboard polymer laminate, in particular a cardboard nylon laminate with a particularly smooth and tear-resistant surface, has proven to be particularly advantageous. Such a laminate is practically impossible to tear manually. The smooth surface makes inadmissible manipulation of the outside difficult and the packaging is also water-repellent.

Further advantages can be achieved if the plug-in lid is at least partially glued to another section of the packaging, for example to an additional wall section below, before it is opened for the first time. The gluing points can be separated from the hinged part of the plug-in cover by predetermined tear lines, so that opening for the first time is indicated.

FIG. 1 shows a blank 28 made of cardboard, for example, which was punched out with a corresponding tool. Adjacent sections which are not later on the same plane are separated from one another by fold lines 29. A rectangular rear wall section 3 and a plug-in cover 4 are connected to a rectangular floor 2 on one side. An end wall section 12, a first support section 20 and a second support section 21 are arranged on the opposite side. On the two parallel narrow sides, an outer wall 18 is first followed by a connecting web 31, then an inner wall 19 and finally an adhesive tab 30.

The rear wall section 3 and the front wall section 12 are connected to the two outer walls 18 via a joint fold 27, which is folded inwards when the side wall sections are raised. A receiving opening 5 is punched out in the area between the end wall section 12 and the first carrier section 20. In the first carrier section 20 there is also a handle section 33 by means of a predetermined breaking line 32 recessed, but which could also be punched out completely like the receiving opening 5.

An insertion tongue 6 is articulated on the insertion cover 4. This is followed by a locking strip 7. An unlocking opening 14 is provided in the joint area of the insertion tongue 6, but is closed with a guarantee section 16.

The first carrier section 20 is provided with openings 25, which, however, are likewise closed with a guarantee section 26 via perforation lines. A product to be packaged can later be pressed out of a blister film through these openings, but only after the guarantee sections 26 have been torn away.

At the second carrier section 21 openings 24 are also punched out completely, which are slightly larger than the openings 25 and which are arranged in mirror image to the latter. The openings 24 later enable the packaging material to be pressed out of the blister film. A supporting wall section 15 is also arranged on a longitudinal side of the second support section 21.

As shown in FIG. 2, the two adhesive tabs 30 are glued to the base 2, so that hollow side walls 17 and 17 ^{Λ which} can be erected in the manner of a parallelogram are formed. The locking strip 7 is already angled to the insertion tongue 6 on the insertion cover 4. The second carrier section 21 was folded over onto the first carrier section 20, a blister film 22 being glued in between these two sections. Packaged goods 23 are welded into the blister film and extend through the free openings 24. The support wall section 15 is angled at approximately a right angle to the second support section 21. As shown, the hinge folds 27 allow the carrier to be folded out. Cut pairs 20, 21 in the plane of the bottom 2 with the hollow side walls 17, 17 ^{λ erected} .

According to FIG. 3, the pair of carrier sections 20, 21 with the blister film is folded into the packaging so that it rests on the webs 31 (FIG. 2). In this position, the receiving opening 5 can receive the insertion tongue 6 with the angled locking strip 7, the pair of carrier sections 20, 21 forming an additional wall section 11 in which the receiving opening is arranged. An edge region of this opening forms a blocking edge 10. The support wall section 15 runs set back somewhat behind the edge region, approximately parallel to the end wall section 12. As is evident, the additional wall section 11 does not necessarily have to be part of a carrier section for blister films or the like. A strip of material that is of sufficient width would also be sufficient to form a stable locking edge 10.

Once the packaging 1 according to FIG. 3 is closed, it cannot be opened without being destroyed before the guarantee section 16 and the handle section 33 have been removed. Otherwise, access to the locking mechanism is not possible. The plug-in cover can then be opened and closed as often as desired, the locking strip 7 having to be moved to open it. Details of this are shown in Figure 4.

As shown, the insertion tongue 6 forms an acute angle with the locking strip 7, the tip 8 of which is directed against the bottom 2 when the insertion cover 4 is closed. The free end 9 of the locking strip 7 is latched under the locking edge 10, the maximum opening movement being limited by the support wall section 15. When inserted through the receiving opening 5, however, the free end 9 can be resilient against the insertion tongue 6 be pressed. The unlocking opening 14 is now exposed so that, for example, a fingernail can be inserted behind the free end 9 in order to press it away from the area of the locking edge 10 against the insertion tongue 6.

In an alternative exemplary embodiment, the blank 28 according to FIG. 5 is constructed essentially similarly to that according to FIG. 1. However, not only the insertion tongue 6 and the locking strip 7, but also the receiving opening 5 have a different configuration. The insertion tongue 6 is not articulated on the outer edge of the insertion cover 4, but rather is set back somewhat, for which incisions 35 are required. The unlocking opening 13 is fully integrated in the end wall section 12 here. Here, too, however, this opening is closed with a guarantee section 16. The receiving opening 5 extends exclusively in the first carrier section 20, it being designed as a narrow rectangular slot. The cutout 34 on the second carrier section 21 corresponds to the opening 5 after the two carrier sections have been folded together. As can be seen from FIG. 6, the locking strip 7 is bent here towards the outside of the plug-in cover 4. The sandwich-like clamping of the blister film, however, is the same as in the previous embodiment.

As shown in FIG. 7, the blocking edge 10 is formed by a material section that remains between the receiving opening 5 and the end wall 12.

Details of the locking of the packaging 1 according to FIG. 7 can be seen from FIG. 8. Here, too, the unlocking opening 13 is exposed by removing the guarantee section. The free end 9 of the locking strip 7 is locked behind the locking edge 10. To release the catch, both for example, pressure can be exerted on the locking strip 7 with a finger through the unlocking opening 13, so that the free end is pushed back so far that it can be raised through the receiving opening 5. In this exemplary embodiment too, a support wall section 15 could be arranged, which stabilizes the insertion tongue 6.

In the case of elongated packaging in particular, it would be readily possible, according to the same principle, to provide two separate, spaced-apart insertion tongues with locking strips on the insertion cover 4 and to assign a separate unlocking opening to each insertion tongue.

Obviously, the appropriate choice of material and folding of the barrier strips 7 can be set at the desired angle to the tongue 6. In certain cases, however, it would also be conceivable to fix the barrier strip in the region of the pointed end 8, for example by introducing an adhesive point or by gluing in a double-sided adhesive foam strip. This would nevertheless ensure that the locking strip is sprung without the risk that the spring force would weaken due to excessive use.

The cut of a further exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 9 initially differs from the cuts described above in that it is not intended to accommodate a blister film. The additional wall section 11 is accordingly designed only as a simple continuous section. In contrast, this blank also has hollow side walls which can be erected in the manner of a parallelogram, each having an outer wall 18 and an inner wall 19. The hinge folds 27 are also identical. A further difference then consists in that the locking strip 7 is not designed to be freely resilient, but can be fixed to the cover 4 with the aid of a connecting section 39.

A handle opening 37 is delimited by perforation lines in the base 2 on the side facing the rear wall section 3. Corresponding to this grip opening, a semicircular grip tab 38 is also punched out on the additional wall section 11 and can be bent at a right angle to the additional wall section 11 (FIG. 10).

Finally, a guarantee tongue 42 is arranged on an outer edge of the additional wall section 11. When the additional wall section 11 is folded into the plane of the floor 2, this guarantee tongue 42 lies directly in front of a guarantee opening 41, which is closed by a guarantee section 40. This guarantee opening is delimited by perforations in the rear wall section 3.

FIG. 11 shows how the packaging according to FIG. 10 can be opened. First of all, the handle opening 37, which is initially still closed, is pierced, so that the section broken out in the process stands up and lies against the handle straps 38. Then, for example, a pressure is exerted on the tabs 38 with the thumb in the arrow direction a and, at the same time, a counterpressure in the arrow direction c on the rear wall section 3. Obviously there is a relative shift of the additional wall section 11 in the arrow direction b. This causes the blocking strip 7 to be freed from the blocking edge 10, with which the cover 4 can be swung open.

When the additional wall section b is displaced for the first time, the guarantee tongue 42 penetrates the guarantee opening 41, whereby the guarantee section 40 is destroyed or broken out, so that the first opening of the packaging is indicated.

Finally, the alternative cut according to FIG. 12 again shows a variant which is intended to hold a blister film. The cut thus has a certain similarity to those according to FIGS. 1 and 5. The same elements each have the same reference numerals. Here too, the blocking strip 7 is intended to be fixed to the plug-in cover 4 with the aid of a connecting section 39. As can also be seen, among other things, from FIG. 13, two unlocking openings 36 are arranged in the base 2 close to the end wall 13, which are closed by means of guarantee sections 16. Corresponding openings 43 are provided on the support wall section 15.

The opening function in this packaging can be seen in particular from FIG. 14. When opening for the first time, the two unlocking openings 36 are pierced, for example, with the index finger and middle finger. The two guarantee sections 16 are swung open so far that they come to rest on the locking strip 7 through the openings 43. At the same time, a counter pressure is exerted on the end wall 12 with the thumb, so that the locking strip 7 or its upper end is pushed away from the locking edge 10 and the cover 4 can be opened. FIG. 14 also shows the fixing of the locking strip 7 with the aid of the connecting section 39.

The exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 15 and 16 has a certain similarity to that according to FIGS. 9 to 11. Instead of a single handle opening 37 in the base 2, however, a further handle opening 37 'is arranged in the plug-in cover 4, so that the relative displacement between the plug-in cover and the set wall section 11 or end face wall section 12 is facilitated. The two handle openings 37 and 37 'are closed with a guarantee section which must be broken out before first use.

A fastening section 44 is hinged to the additional wall section 11 and is provided with a sealing strip 46. In the closed state of the packaging, the two punched through openings 45, 45 'allow access through the opening 37'.

As can be seen from FIG. 16, a blister 47 is sealed on the sealing strip 46. The blister 47 can be folded together with the fastening section 44 into the plane of the additional wall section 11, so that it projects into the interior of the packaging in the closed state. It is advantageous if the blister 47 is somewhat narrower than the additional wall section 11, so that in the closed state only the additional wall section rests on the connecting webs 31 of the hollow side walls.

In the further exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 17 to 19, a blister 47 is also sealed so that it can be swung out. However, the insert lid 4 is formed in two layers with an additional layer 4 'in order to achieve an improved rigidity. The plug-in lid is also provided with roundings 48 in order to prevent corners from bending open. Tear-off tabs 45 are arranged in the region of the rounding, which are separated from the remaining section of the plug-in lid by predetermined tear lines 49. The second layer 4 ′ can be articulated overhead or, as indicated by the dash-dotted lines, laterally on the section 4. Figure 18 shows the state before the packaging was closed for the first time with the double layer of the insert lid already glued. The insertion tongue 6, the locking strip 7 and the connecting section 39 are formed only in one layer and are broken out or punched out of the material of the inner layer 4 '. A slightly different configuration results when the inner layer 4 'is articulated laterally.

As can be seen from FIG. 19, the plug-in lid 4 lies in the closed state on the full-surface additional wall section 11, which is partially visible in the area of the rounded portions 48. The plug-in lid 4 is glued to the additional wall section 11 via adhesive points 51 in the area of the tear-open tabs 50. To open the packaging for the first time, the adhesive bond to the tear-open tabs 50 must be released, the predetermined tear lines 49 breaking open. Thereafter, at least one of the handle openings 37 and 37 'must be exposed in order to release the locking of the insertion tongue 6 by relative displacement. Only now can the plug-in lid 4 be pivoted open, the locking engaging again after each closing.

Not all combinations of individual features are shown in the exemplary embodiments. Of course, however, it is conceivable to exchange individual features as desired, so that, for example, other of the exemplary embodiments illustrated could also be designed with a glued plug-in lid, with or without a hollow side wall and the like.

21. Packaging according to claim 20, characterized in that the glue points (51) are separated by predetermined tear lines (49) from the hinged part of the insert lid.

22. Packaging according to one of claims 1 to 21, characterized in that it is made of a cardboard polymer laminate with a smooth, tear-resistant surface.
