Abstract

An electrochromic or electrodeposition display comprising a plurality of cells, each of said cells comprises surrounding partition walls, an electrochromic or electrolytic fluid filled therein, and a polymeric sealing layer which encloses said fluid within each cell and sealingly adheres to the surface of the partition walls. Microcups are formed by embossing or imagewise exposure.
