A floor display system (100) comprises, in different embodiments, one or more of the following features: multiple display panels (310, 315, 325, 330); variable image orientation (520, 577); networked data distribution and management (108, 109, 125, 800-804); interactivity (900-909, 1000); image-enhancing optics (1100); controlled audio (111); a protective covering (1200); an anti-slip element (1300.1); fragrance technology (1400); theft prevention (1500, 1501); a track-and-trench system (1910, 1915); specialized positioning mechanisms (2020); and lightweight; flexible layers (2100).
