The operation of a sink mounted food waste disposer is described as follows.
As a beginning, a food waste disposer is mounted inside a sink and the inlet section (10) connected to the drain opening of a sink takes food waste to the disposer. The small inlet holes
(13) connected to the second draining pipe (12) filters food waste to pass water only. The remaining food waste is delivered to central waste food processing parts through the first draining pipe (11) . The un-passed food waste blocked by the small inlet holes (13) is continuously flushed by falling water to reduce salt content of food waste, so as to minimize water pollution by diluting discharged water and recycle food waste as livestock food or compost.
Food waste from the first draining pipe (11) is delivered to the compression/grinding section (40) , and water from the second draining pipe (12) is discharged directly through a separate pipe.
Food waste from the draining pipe (11) is delivered to the compression/grinding section (40) by the first conveying screw (20) inside the screw cover (21) , which is driven by the first motor (22) .
Food waste inside the compression/grinding section (40) is lifted to an upper part by the second conveying screw (42) . While being moved to the upper part, food waste is squeezed between the second conveying screw (42) and cone shaped water-squeezing pipe (43) . Food waste becomes compressed and drained water is discharged to the water reservoir (41) through the cylindrical lower part (43a) inside the water-squeezing pipe (43) .
This compressed and squeezed food waste between the second conveying screw (42) and the water-squeezing pipe (43) is shredded by the rotating blade (45) and delivered to the next drying/disposal section (50) . The fixing plate (44) tightened on the locking groove (43b) is the only exit to the rotating blade (45) , where food waste moved from the squeezing pipe (43) to the fixing plate (42) is shredded into small pieces.
The secondmotor (30) on the bracket (31) rotates the first gear (33) by moving the gearbox (32) . The first gear (33) moves the second gear (49) . Finally, this second gear (49) rotates the second conveying screw (42) . The shredded food waste by the rotating blade (45) is discharged through a discharge hole (46b) on the cover (46) and re-enter to the drying/disposal section through an inlet hole
(46c) next to the discharge hole (46b) . The rotating pan (47) moved by the third and the second gear pushes the food waste
π into the inlet hole (46c) .
Food waste falls on the first circular plate (55) in the drying/disposal section (50) through the inlet hole (46c) . The first heater (56) on the bottom of the first circular plate (55) dries food waste. The dried food waste on the first circular plate (55) falls down through the central outlet hole (55a) . The rotating axis (58) moved by the third motor (51) rotates the first dryer (54) . In turn, this first dryer (54) collects and pushes waste food into the central outlet hole (55a) by rotating the first drying pan (54a) . Lots of the first drying pan (54a) faces toward inside to collect food waste easily.
In the present invention, the above first dryer (54) and the following third dryer (59) rotate with the rotating axis
(58) . However, the second dryer (57) between the first dryer (54) and the third dryer (59) hold the position instead of rotating with the rotating axis.
Food waste on the third dryer (59) through the central outlet hole (55a) spreads out through the outlet hole (59b) , which is on the outer shell of the third dryer (59) . The moving third dryer (5) and the holding second dryer (57) with the second dryer pan (57a) enable spreading out of food waste.
In detail, the second drying pan (57a) does not move as the second dryer (57) does not rotate. The second drying pan
(57a) faced toward outside spreads out food waste that is moved
by the third dryer (59) . Food waste moves outward by the second drying pan (57a) , finally falls through the outlet hole (59b) .
The fallen food waste through the outlet hole (59b) is on the second circular plate (60) . The second dryer (56a) on the bottom of the second circular plate (60) dries the fallen food waste one more time. The third drying pan (59a) collects food waste on the rotating third dryer (59) . To explain in detail , like the first drying pan (54a) , the third drying pan (59a) faces toward inside and collects waste food moved by the third dryer (59) .
The food waste collected by the third drying pan (59a) falls into the collecting part (80) through the outlet hole (60a) , the center hole of the bottom plate (61) , and the hole (62a) of the plate (62) in succession. The fallen food waste in the collecting part (80) is 1/40 of the original size and 99% dried, so that only one or two time a month is enough for trash dumping.
In the present invention, the first, second, and third drying pan (54a) , (57a) , (59a) made of rubber fit tightly on the first circular plate (55) , the third dryer (59) , and the second circular plate (60) , respectively to move food waste without leaving dreg.
The present invention further comprises the ventilation pan (70) to blow out odor from the food waste disposer. The
ventilation pan (70) inhales odor from inhalation hole (52a) mounted on the cover (52) andblows out the odor rapidly to remove bad smell .
INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY
As described, the present invention relates to a food waste disposer, more particularly a sink mounted a food waste disposer that dispose food waste from kitchen automatically after in-series process of compression (dehydration) , grinding, and drying. With listed in-series process, the disposer can reduce quantity of food waste up to 1/40 and dehydrate food waste almost up to 99%. With a compact size of the unit, it can be easily mounted in a sink. It can remove odor and leaching water from food waste completely. The disposer also can minimize water pollution by purifying 90 % of discharged water. The new food waste disposer enables recycling of food waste to livestock food or compost by removing salt from food waste. The present invention provides a sink mountable food waste disposer with reliable quality and several outstanding features.
