Abstract

The invention relates to a method for placing personalization information on a card-shaped data carrier (1) by forming a personalization layer (4), in which the personalization information are contained. The inventive method is characterized in that the personalization layer (4) is applied to a feature layer (3), which is protected from being manipulated, and a permanent and intimate connection is formed between the personalization layer (4) and the feature layer (3) so that the personalization layer (4) cannot be removed without damaging the feature layer (3).
