Definitions

  • the present invention is directed to a method of measuring, evaluating and regulating the state, flow and function of bioelectrical energy in the body and mind, referred to as the terrain.
  • the bioelectrical inner environment of the human body is sometimes referred to as the "terrain".
  • the terrain includes the cells comprising the body, organs, and the interface between energy and body tissue.
  • the integrity of the terrain is the factor that determines why one person will get food poisoning and another will not - from the same infected meal. It is very difficult for a disease to live in a balanced terrain. Therefore, a person having a relatively balanced terrain will typically have good health and well-being.
  • the 'terrain is everything' and the pathogen is everything.
  • the terrain can be perfect, but pollute it with Ebola, methyl mercury or radiation and you are still in trouble. Remove the Ebola, methyl mercury or radiation without restoring the terrain, and you are still in trouble.
  • the biochemist Carrey Reams devised a method of analyzing saliva pH, as well as urine pH, urine conductivity, urine sugars/brix, urine NH4+, and urine NO3- to measure the electrical and ionization effects of foods, supplements and therapies on the bioelectrical properties of the human system.
  • Prior methods focused only on removal of a particular pathogen being ingested (or absorbed) in the terrain, but failed to address restoration of the terrain as well as ingestion. Specifically, saliva properties (aside from pH) were not considered. The distinction between an intervention that has exclusively beneficial effects and one that also produces harm is whether it simultaneously addresses the pathogen as well as the terrain.

  • the needs of a particular patient are determined. Treatment of the patient may be focused based on the specific determined needs as well as the patient's specific terrain, thereby optimizing utilization of the supplied needs.
  • the method of the present invention is applicable to the removal of obstacles (as discussed in detail below), the restoration of metabolic, mental, and emotional efficiency, and therapeutic interventions.
  • One skilled in the art is able to determine if the patient is able to utilize what they need, and if not, look for solutions to restore their ability to respond. As the patient is moved closer to Zero Need, regulation opens. Zero Need indicates that all properties of a person's urine and saliva are normal. Arriving at Zero Need does not indicate that the person is 'cured'. It means that the terrain is again functional and no longer a host for disease.
  • the patient is maintained at Zero Need for a period of time sufficient to restore 'self-regulation' to the patient, which allows the Inner Healer to function once more. This is an extremely powerful place within which interventions are much more effective and occasionally unnecessary. The process of self- regulation is many times a prerequisite for the successful treatment of many conditions.
  • the present invention takes into account our increasing toxicological challenges, and allows the study and evaluation of multiple terrain reactions rather than isolated states. In this way, a valuable and timely clinical method of understanding and fulfilling patient needs is provided.
  • This approach of the present invention allows equal importance to the terrain and the pathogen, providing an objective evaluation of a patient's needs while determining the effectiveness of any interventions. Further, a method of supporting the terrain if and when a patient requires an intervention is provided that is safe and optimal for the patient.
  • the system and method of the present invention does not diagnose or treat disease; instead it evaluates and enhances the structure and function of the terrain with Real-Time Functional Medicine.
  • the system and method of the present invention is based on the relationships and needs of anions vs. cations, positive ions vs. negative ions, and alkalinity vs. acidity in the terrain. These relationships may be calculated from measurements taken from samples of saliva and urine from a patient. Specifically, the following properties of a saliva sample may be determined using conventional techniques known in the art: pH (acidity or alkalinity), mS (conductivity), Brix (sugar content), NO3 (nitrate), and NO4 (ammonium). Likewise, the same properties of a urine sample may be determined using conventional techniques known in the art.
  • the resulting values for the relationships define a collection of information about the patient's terrain and needs. This collection of information is defined herein as a "zone". Treatment may then be assessed and provided in light of the patient's deviation away from "normal relationship values". In addition, the impact of particular foods, medicine or therapy on each of the values may be determined based on the particular zone in which the patient's relationship values fall.
  • Appropriate treatments may then be selected which cancel out any negative vectors, thereby restoring the terrain to normal metabolism. Once that balance is achieved (regulation is opened), the inner healer comes back to work and the person can again respond to therapy.

  • the urine pH tells us if the acids of normal metabolism and other toxins are able to get out of the body, therefore it needs to stay on the acid side. If the urine is too alkaline and the salts value is too low, you will see weakness in the liver and disturbances in the Phase 1 & 2 liver detoxification pathways.
  • the needs are cationic and negative. Therefore the effect of raising the salts value is to provide a positive and anionic reaction.
  • the needs are now anionic and positive, therefore the effect of lowering the salts value is to provide the opposite, a cationic and negative reaction.
  • Normal sugars is a Brix of 4. If the sugar value is below normal one could assume that the adrenals were weak, or the pancreas was over stimulated, or that there might be increased insulin sensitivity or, there could be something causing stress on the adrenals, like a scar or tooth problem on the associated meridian, or acid irritation from excess protein consumption. If the sugar value is too high one might think that the pancreas was under producing insulin, or that the pH surrounding the pancreas was too acidic, or that there might be an adhesion affecting its performance, a nutritional deficiency or a combination of the above. So you do a lab test and discover that they are chromium deficient. You give them chromium and they may or may not be able to utilize it. However, if you restore the terrain, the sugars will return to normal and they will be able to get all the chromium they need from their food.

  • This transformative ability is dependant on the integrity of the electrodynamic field that maintains the organization of the system, an imbalance in which can be observed as abnormalities in the proportional relationship of the normal values. This is why exposure to certain powerful electromagnetic fields and frequencies, radiation, microwaves, geopathic stress, and battery effects and their fields in human chemistry all cause a scientifically proven shut down of the immune system and various forms of disease. It is the electromagnetic impact of the toxin on this electrodynamic field that concerns us.

Abstract

The present invention is directed to a method of balancing structure and function in the human terrain. A sample of urine and a sample of saliva is taken from a patient. The properties for each of the samples are identified. A plurality of zones are provided, each of the zones defining a combination of values and a recommended treatment based on the combination of values. Sample values for the patient are calculated based on the identified properties. One of the zones having the combination of values is identified that correspond to the sample values. The recommended treatment for the patient is then identified based on the identified zone.

Description

BIOLOGICAL TERRAIN MANAGEMENT Field Qf The Invention
The present invention is directed to a method of measuring, evaluating and regulating the state, flow and function of bioelectrical energy in the body and mind, referred to as the terrain.
Background Of The Invention
The bioelectrical inner environment of the human body is sometimes referred to as the "terrain". The terrain includes the cells comprising the body, organs, and the interface between energy and body tissue. The terrain's ability to shift between cationic and anionic needs and events, and experience the friction between the two, determines its flexibility and adaptability to stress and change. The integrity of the terrain is the factor that determines why one person will get food poisoning and another will not - from the same infected meal. It is very difficult for a disease to live in a balanced terrain. Therefore, a person having a relatively balanced terrain will typically have good health and well-being.
The 'terrain is everything' and the pathogen is everything. The terrain can be perfect, but pollute it with Ebola, methyl mercury or radiation and you are still in trouble. Remove the Ebola, methyl mercury or radiation without restoring the terrain, and you are still in trouble. As one skilled in the art is well aware, it takes both to maintain a healthy body. Clinical success often requires that both be addressed, in the correct order.
During the 1940's and 1950's, a hydrologist named Prof. Vincent devised a method of analyzing the redox (ORP), conductivity and pH of urine, saliva and blood to determine the properties of the terrain. Foods, therapies and environmental factors influence and change the bioelectrical properties of the human system. These findings were represented on a graph containing four quadrants on which were plotted the redox potential, the acidity and/or alkalinity, the presence of positive and/or negative ions, and the conductivity as shown: a b c
Figure imgf000004_0001
wherein: a-f = redox potential d-e = acid alkaline a-h = positive ions, negative ions f-c = conductivity.
Each quadrant was associated with certain foods, supplements and therapies. Analytical devices that measure and compute these values are known in the art.
During the 1950's and 1960's in the USA, the biochemist Carrey Reams devised a method of analyzing saliva pH, as well as urine pH, urine conductivity, urine sugars/brix, urine NH4+, and urine NO3- to measure the electrical and ionization effects of foods, supplements and therapies on the bioelectrical properties of the human system.
Prior methods focused only on removal of a particular pathogen being ingested (or absorbed) in the terrain, but failed to address restoration of the terrain as well as ingestion. Specifically, saliva properties (aside from pH) were not considered. The distinction between an intervention that has exclusively beneficial effects and one that also produces harm is whether it simultaneously addresses the pathogen as well as the terrain. The present invention is directed to a system and method for applying Real-Time Functional Medicine that includes restoration of the terrain in the treatment of acute and chronic conditions.

Figure 5 is a spreadsheet page displaying data input fields according to the present invention. Summary Of The Invention
The present invention is directed to an objective method of assessing and regulating the state, flow and function of bioelectrical energy in the body and mind, referred to as the terrain. The study and assessment of human structure and function (i.e. the terrain) is known as biological terrain management ("BTM"). According to the present invention, the needs of a particular patient are determined. Treatment of the patient may be focused based on the specific determined needs as well as the patient's specific terrain, thereby optimizing utilization of the supplied needs.
The method of the present invention is applicable to the removal of obstacles (as discussed in detail below), the restoration of metabolic, mental, and emotional efficiency, and therapeutic interventions. One skilled in the art is able to determine if the patient is able to utilize what they need, and if not, look for solutions to restore their ability to respond. As the patient is moved closer to Zero Need, regulation opens. Zero Need indicates that all properties of a person's urine and saliva are normal. Arriving at Zero Need does not indicate that the person is 'cured'. It means that the terrain is again functional and no longer a host for disease.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the patient is maintained at Zero Need for a period of time sufficient to restore 'self-regulation' to the patient, which allows the Inner Healer to function once more. This is an extremely powerful place within which interventions are much more effective and occasionally unnecessary. The process of self- regulation is many times a prerequisite for the successful treatment of many conditions.
The present invention takes into account our increasing toxicological challenges, and allows the study and evaluation of multiple terrain reactions rather than isolated states. In this way, a valuable and timely clinical method of understanding and fulfilling patient needs is provided. This approach of the present invention allows equal importance to the terrain and the pathogen, providing an objective evaluation of a patient's needs while determining the effectiveness of any interventions. Further, a method of supporting the terrain if and when a patient requires an intervention is provided that is safe and optimal for the patient.
The system and method of the present invention does not diagnose or treat disease; instead it evaluates and enhances the structure and function of the terrain with Real-Time Functional Medicine.
Detailed Description Of The Invention
The system and method of the present invention is based on the relationships and needs of anions vs. cations, positive ions vs. negative ions, and alkalinity vs. acidity in the terrain.
The resulting values for each of the properties of the salvia and urine samples are then used to calculate values for the following relationships: anions vs. cations; positive ions vs. negative ions; and alkalinity vs. acidity in the terrain. The calculation of these relationships from the properties enumerated above is known in the art.
The resulting values for the relationships (i.e. anions vs. cations; positive ions vs. negative ions; and alkalinity vs. acidity) define a collection of information about the patient's terrain and needs. This collection of information is defined herein as a "zone". Treatment may then be assessed and provided in light of the patient's deviation away from "normal relationship values". In addition, the impact of particular foods, medicine or therapy on each of the values may be determined based on the particular zone in which the patient's relationship values fall.
Appropriate treatments may then be selected which cancel out any negative vectors, thereby restoring the terrain to normal metabolism. Once that balance is achieved (regulation is opened), the inner healer comes back to work and the person can again respond to therapy.
A terrain graph according to the present invention plots values derived from urine and saliva samples, including values for the redox potential, the acidity and/or alkalinity, the presence of positive and/or negative ions, and the conductivity: a b c
f g wherein: a-f = redox potential a-h = positive ion / negative ion i-b = saliva pH i-e = urine pH b-e = plotted point derived from i-b and i-e. f-c = cationic, anionic
,The system and method of the present invention is designed to help the health professional see, understand and manage shifts in the terrain during therapy. The system and method of the present invention provides options for terrain support and evaluation of the effectiveness of the options. The present invention further shows the impact of a medicine or therapy (i.e. an intervention) on the terrain, and then allows for compensation or amplification of any effects such an interventional may have on the patient. One skilled in the art, using the system and method of the present invention can determine if the 'cure' is killing the patient, mitigate the adverse effects, objectively evaluate progress, quickly signal a patient's changing needs, thus allowing the patient to get the benefit of the therapy. It can also be used for prevention by developing nutritional programs that best serve the individual terrain.
The easiest way to assist the terrain is to not abuse it. There are certain foci and obstacles that preclude any progress being made. An exemplary questionnaire for identifying such obstacles is set forth at Appendix I. The questionnaire is also provided at www.healthydetox.org, identified therein as the Ladder to Freedom Questionnaire. Once the questions are answered by a patient, the resulting data is assessed, and a target "Ladder to Freedom" (provided in Appendix I) is generated based on his or her responses. The Ladder indicates the first obstacle that should be addressed at the bottom of the column of obstacles. Once the first obstacle has been overcome, the next obstacle up from the bottom is addressed, and so forth.
Diet can be and usually is a major Obstacle to progress. Also provided on my website at www.healthvdetox.org is the document 'Common Sense Health' that offers some practical guidelines as to how to discover a person optimal diet. In general, the first step to an optimal diet for most individuals is to remove acid forming foods, and replace them with alkaline forming diet appropriate to an individual's blood type. An alkaline forming mineral supplement may provide benefit as well. The basic process to an optimal diet is: 1) Learn Common Sense Principles regarding food, water, exercise, sleep and fun; 2) Identify the obstacles to good health that pertain to you and remove them; 3) Remove the toxins generated by those obstacles; and 4) Repair the damage. Food - The Alkaline Reserve Diet
First, you need to know which foods are specifically beneficial for you. By doing the following steps, you will generate a personalized foundation for your diet: What to Eat: 1) Identify your blood type and list your favorite beneficial foods in all categories from the book "Eat Right For Your Type" by D'Adamo. These beneficial foods enhance oxygen utilization, good circulation and nutrient utilization. 2) Delete from the list generated in step 1 any foods known to contain fungal metabolites (mycotoxins). 3) Delete any remaining foods on the list that make your tongue feel odd, increase your pulse rate, or foods that you crave. These symptoms identify food allergies.
4) Underline as especially beneficial any foods remaining on the list that you ate between the ages of 1 to 5 years old. As our organs were growing and forming, they learned to digest and transform food into energy with the foods from our early years so the beneficial ones remain allies for life.
5) If you were not breast fed for the entire first 10 months of your life, delete whatever the protein was that they put in your bottle, soy or dairy. That protein will provoke an immune reaction whenever eaten for the rest of your life. If you can eat dairy the first choice is organic yogurt and buttermilk (because the lacto bacilli are in them) and second, raw, organic dairy. Pasteurized dairy ends up clogging the arteries. 6) Delete any contaminated foods, as set forth in the book "Diet for a Poisoned Planet".
7) Organize the foods remaining the list into conventional food groups.
8) Experiment with recipe and menu ideas. Be advised that "The Zone" does not take into account that you need far less protein if 1.) you eat it raw or very rare, and 2.) if you chew it to a liquid. People who are ill cannot generally metabolize more than 40 grams of protein per day without ill effect.
9) Gradually increase the percentage of raw foods you eat to your maximum tolerance (not if you have an ulcerous condition). Cooking destroys the all important enzymes in food and damages the phytonutrients. 10) Eat only organic foods, including locally grown, fresh, in season foods. Spray all foods, including protein, with a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution prior to preparing for consumption, and then rinse thoroughly with pure water, which substantially eliminates parasite and bacteria contamination. Inorganic farming and ranching present a host of other, more serious health problems including pesticides, hormones, antibiotics, mycotoxins, lack of minerals, lack of the metabolites of beneficial soil bacteria and nuclear irradiation. What Not To Eat
In addition to the general toxins and mycotoxins, the following foods are especially detrimental to the associated blood types, and should be deleted from the diet:
Type O. Wheat, dairy, cabbage, nightshades, pickled or fermented foods.
Type A. Corn, tomatoes, peanuts, sesame, cayenne, and red meat.
Type AB. Corn, chicken, orange, salt, pepper, vinegar.
Type B. Chicken, corn, nuts & seeds, tomato. If you have any symptoms of bloating, abdominal discomfort, gas, or feel tired after food, avoid all sweets. Sweets include anything that tastes sweet, no exceptions. This is temporary until your gastro intestinal tract has returned to normal function. How to Eat
1. Eat regular meals at the same time of day, consistently. Regularity strengthens the stomach and fine tunes the metabolism. 2. Relax when you eat, do not conduct business or have arguments. Stress turns off the production of hydrochloric acid, and without it our food ferments and putrefies more rapidly. 3. Chew all food to a liquid, and chew the liquids too. This greatly assists digestion and elimination, and decreases the amount of food you need to feel satisfied.
4. Enjoy and appreciate your food.
5. Stop eating just before you are full. Systematic under-eating is one of the great secrets of long life. 6. Do not drink more than a few ounces of liquids with meals, and sip what you do drink. Liquids dilute the digestive juices rendering them less efficient. 7. If you must eat at a restaurant, take 2 Betaine HCL tablets (Standard Process Labs) just before you start eating. This will increase the Hydrochloric acid in your stomach and help to kill any incoming parasites or bacteria. Fancy restaurants have parasites too. Most restaurants cook their food in tap water, and use it to make their coffee and tea and soups and sauces.
Fine Tune Your Diet And Evaluate Its Effectiveness:
A simple test can be performed with pH (litmus) paper. Saliva and urine pH are evaluated first thing in the morning before any food or drink or brushing the teeth. Our
Figure imgf000012_0001
nemesis in life is acidity as it reduces our ability to utilize oxygen and makes us good hosts for fungal problems. Our bodies have buffering systems to keep our blood just slightly on the alkaline side at 7.35 pH. Those buffering systems need to be maintained with generous supplies of bioavailable minerals from alkaline forming foods. Use the information in Table 1 to correct each pH with the suggested items. To use this fine tuning approach correctly, you keep a food, remedy and pH diary so you can observe the impact of what you are doing over time. If you can manage to keep the pH values consistently in the normal range plus/minus .2 pH, you will have made a good start towards better health. Table 1:
Figure imgf000013_0001
Figure imgf000014_0001
Water Intake:
Our bodies are between 60% and 70% water. It is of primary importance that we drink it pure and in adequate quantity. A high quality reverse osmosis and UV sterilized water is preferred. However, reverse osmosis and distilled waters tend to be on the acidic side. A dropper of liquid silica, coral calcium per gallon, or some of the minerals listed that balance your pH per your blood type negates the acidity.
Homeopathic remedies can be made by consecutively diluting a substance in it and 'succussing' or shaking it. None of the substance eventually remains but its frequency locks into the outer electrons of the water molecules. The solution is to put a pair of powerful north pole magnets around the incoming water pipe after the ground point. This degausses the water and improves taste.
Pure stream water from glaciers or clean rainfall (?) that no one is urinating in, flowing over igneous rock rich in silica and iodine and other minerals is 'wetter' than normal water and has a healing effect, like Hunza and some other areas. Exercise and Recreation
Unless you're an athlete, body builder or in the military, there's no need to waste breathe and risk adrenal exhaustion and injury with excessive exercise. Stop before the endorphins in the brain flow because they give you an artificial sense of well being from which you eventually crash. Select any activity that you really like and do it regularly. If that activity does not make you perspire for a few minutes, try a sauna once a week. Review 'Eat Right For Your Type' and the exercise suggestions for each blood type. The best forms of exercise are swimming and sex because they both involve expansion rather than contraction. Sleep
Healing takes place in deep peace. The catabolic cycle runs from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. (time to detox, function) and the anabolic cycle starts at 3 p.m. and runs to 3 a.m. (time to rest and rejuvenate). Lack of rest will create disease and disease will create inability to rest.

The present invention is further directed to a novel software data management application and graphical and numerical representation of that data, that accepts standard and non standard chemistry values determined from a person's urine and saliva, analyzes them as to bioelectrical nature, represents them in a unique and new way both graphically and numerically, gives observations of foods, supplements and therapies with similar and opposite characteristics, and further tracks the bioelectrical correlation of the observations with pre and post consumption measurements of the person's urine and saliva. These results of pre and post testing are accepted into a database, divided into files of single substances, and then further analyzed for statistical significance and percentage of effectiveness. This software is offered as a 'pay per test' website application. This program is not intended to diagnose, mitigate, treat or cure any disease. It exists to merely match the bioelectrical properties of foods, supplements and therapies with the bioelectrical needs of the body as derived from, but not limited to, urine and saliva pH and ORP, and urine conductivity, sugars/brix, NH4+, and O3-, which are calculated to represent anionic / cationic, positive ion / negative ion, and acid / base state and need.
The software program has a novel and unobvious representation of data including layout, data input screen, graphic representations of data, the flow of the program, numerical portrayals of data, user interface design, console design, file and data management design, data analysis method, instructional explanatory and tutorial text, and interpretations of relationships between the data. The Values, Ratios And Needs
The values used herein have been selected not so much because of what they tell us about digestion, organ function and toxicity, but because they can be used to calculate the bodies ability to transform matter into energy (a cationic event) and energy into matter (an anionic event). Brief information about the physiological associations of each value and ratio is provided.
One aspect of the present invention is the ability for one skilled in the art to see, understand and use the bioelectrical effect of foods, remedies and therapeutic interventions, through their calculated values, on the terrain. The present invention utilizes remedies and foods and therapies to restore the terrain to balance, not only because of their nutrient or ingredient value, but because of their bioelectrical impact on the terrain as expressed by cationic vs. anionic, positive ion vs. negative ion, acid vs. alkaline, and Redox needs and state. This is a very different way of looking at foods and remedies and therapies. We all need potassium, for example, but some people do well with the citrate form, others with orotate, and others with the chloride. The system and method of the present invention allows one skilled in the art to determine for each patient which is the best form of potassium to administer, evaluate the impact of that form on the patient, and therefore to adjust the dosage for the optimal or desired effect. The present invention makes sense out of why chocolate is of benefit for one person and a poison for the next. The present invention gives you a way of seeing the exact impact of any ingestion or intervention on the terrain with pre and post Panels. As you will see, this applies to differentiating between the various cancer therapies, support for dental extractions, detox and diet protocols, remedies and the like. Physiological And Bioelectrical Associations:
All of the following values can only be seen as reactions, not static events. A single measurement cannot tell you much about the person. The values are dynamic and flexible when in a normal state. You need to evaluate a fasting state (first morning) and then compare it to a Panel taken after a meal or remedy or modality to see how the person responds to rest or work.
Quadrant values according to an embodiment of the present invention are provided in the graph shown in Table II below. Each quadrant enumerates obstacles to be avoided.
Table π
Figure imgf000019_0001
SALIVA pH
Normal, is pH 7.0. The saliva mirrors the blood and the lymph. It gives us an indication of what the body is holding on to. One of the basic premises in biological medicine is that the tissue tends to become too acidic because of poor elimination and toxicosis. In response to this the blood becomes too alkaline and oxidized, which blocks the transfer of oxygen from hemoglobin and results in hypoxia. This increases the tissue acidity as the system eventually moves from aerobic metabolism towards fermentative metabolism. The intracellular pH then tends to be too acidic and fosters the growth of fungi. This state is represented in Quadrant IE in BEV and BTA, the cancer-virus-stress zone. You will see how it also appears in Quadrant m in BTM.
If the saliva pH is over 7.4, this is considered to be an extreme reaction of the buffers to acidity and therefore thought of as acidity. It still mirrors the blood pH, but the more alkaline it is, the more tissue acidity it represents. Table II below gives an approximation of the difference.
Table HI
Figure imgf000020_0001
The value plotted on the Quadrants is corrected according to this chart because what we are monitoring is the body's need or inability to mount the alkaline reserve. We know the tissue is too acidic. The method of dealing with this is through the elimination of obstacles, foci, diet corrections and improving the elimination of toxins. We do not attempt to acidify the saliva directly unless it is only slightly out of range and the rest of the values are very close to normal. Giving the correct minerals and alkalizers to a person with extremely alkaline saliva will actually lower it towards normal range in this case. We are not acidifying anything here. We are either restoring the alkaline reserve or draining acids or both.
URINE pH
Normal is pH 5.8 - 6.0.
The urine pH tells us if the acids of normal metabolism and other toxins are able to get out of the body, therefore it needs to stay on the acid side. If the urine is too alkaline and the salts value is too low, you will see weakness in the liver and disturbances in the Phase 1 & 2 liver detoxification pathways.
SALIVA / URINE RATIO
SALTS
Normal salts are 16 mS.
For values higher than normal, the needs are cationic and negative. Therefore the effect of raising the salts value is to provide a positive and anionic reaction. For values lower than normal, the needs are now anionic and positive, therefore the effect of lowering the salts value is to provide the opposite, a cationic and negative reaction.
SUGARS
Normal sugars is a Brix of 4.
The effect of a relatively high sugar value only (i.e. without the effects of salts), indicates the needs are positive and anionic, the effect is negative and cationic. A relatively low value provides that the needs are now negative and cationic, the effect is positive and anionic. SALTS / SUGARS RATIO
Raising the salts and lowering the sugars both have a positive and anionic effect. This opens the ratio.
Lowering the salts and raising the sugars both have a negative and cationic effect. This closes the ratio. N03
Normal N03 is 10.
For values greater than normal, the need is positive and cationic. The state is anionic and negative. For values less than normal, the need is now negative and anionic. The state is positive and cationic. NH4 Normal-NH4 is 6.5.
For values greater than normal, the need is anionic and negative. The state is cationic and positive. For values less than normal, the need is cationic positive, the state is anionic positive.
N03 / NH4 RATIO
To open the NO3/NH4 ratio you need to raise the N03 and lower the NH4. But raising the N03 has an anionic/negative effect, and lowering the NH4 has an anionic/positive effect. One might think that the positive and negative needs might just cancel each other out and that one could focus on anionic need, but that is not the case. One must satisfy both the negative and positive needs (with IIO2 for example) as well as the anionic need. A closed ratio here can be very difficult to change and very dangerous. In fact, if NO3 drops to 0-1, it can be a signal that death is near, especially if the NH4 is very high.
You can see these values in healthy people who are under extreme stress, such as fasting, a bad hangover, the flu .... But they rebound towards center afterwards. It is when this kind of imbalance is sustained and inflexible that the terrain becomes a host for serious illness. Or, when the illness is so severe that no intervention will cause a shift toward normal, time is most likely running out. CELL & PSYCHE: THE BTM QUADRANTS This information is presented as associations between mother nature, human nature, substances and disease states in reference to where and when they appear in the terrain. Referring to Table π, substances tend to draw towards the Quadrant they are in. For example, someone who is stressed whose values triangulate in Q3 would do well with just enough rest from Ql to draw them to Zero Need. Fun, in Quadrant 2, would also improve their state as it moves them backwards through the Quadrants and advancing decrepitude towards youth and rejuvenation, but is problematic in that they may be too sick to have fun. Conditions in a Quadrant tend to be irritated or worsened by a state or substance in the same quadrant. Giving someone what he or she need in a way that they can use it is the most elegant solution. Cell & Psyche . All states of magnificence and choice exist in the center, at Zero Need. The shadow world exists in all of the Quadrants, the degree of darkness being relevant to the severity of imbalance. Achieving states of heightened awareness through insight or will power draws towards Zero Need, but requires effort and guidance. The easiest way to balance the terrain is to either not harm it, as it tends to self regulation in the absence of abuse, or to be completely aware in the present moment. A terrain free of abuse of the self or others is prone to enlightenment. A person in present time has nothing to regret and nothing to look forward to. At the moment of death, or its realization, a sick but enlightened person might go to Zero Need, or a person from the shadow land might become enlightened The state of self- actualization, wherein a person passionately experiences their perfection in the present moment, whether achieved by prayer or taking out the psycho-garbage, is a state of Zero Need, and will draw the physical terrain towards it.
Likewise, shadow states of mental and emotional stagnation prevent one from being in present time, and draw the physical terrain towards them. True success is achieved by addressing the Cell and the Psyche at the same time. . BTM: Basic Strategies for Terrain Support
1. Focus on reducing needs by prioritizing remedies, therapies or foods from the Table of Needs that are appropriate to the firing order, the ratios and the values.
2. Use live cell or glandulars to strengthen the weak organ. If a value is below normal, use homeopathies or spagyrics for drainage of the congested organ. If the value is above normal, use supplements or herbals for drainage. 3. Adjust Inhaled Ionized Oxygen according to the ratio of positive and negative needs. End with the negative ion need.
4. If the patient requires a therapy that worsens their values, say closes their pH's and acidifies the saliva, give a remedy that opens the pH's and alkalizes the saliva shortly afterwards but not before.
5. The same therapy or remedy can produce different results in different people. Run a panel 2-3 hours after a therapeutic intervention to monitor the result. If you do one thing at a time the results will be more specific. Combine known interventions after their individual effects have been noted. 6. Use Table of Needs to identify therapies and substances that worsen the values and avoid them.
Having now generally described the invention, the same will be more readily understood through reference to the following example:
Example 1 Samples of saliva and urine are taken from a patient, and properties identified above are calculated using methods known in the art. The resulting properties for saliva and urine include pH, mS, Brix, N03 and N04. As best shown in Figure 1, these properties may be input into fields in a computer program. The computer program then calculates relationship values for saliva and urine using calculations set forth in Figure 2. Specifically, the following values are provided for both urine and saliva: anion (AN) vs. cation (CAT), positive ions (P) vs. negative ions (N), and alkalinity (AL) vs. acidity (AC) in the terrain. Equations for calculating these relationships is well known in the art, such as explained by Alexander Beddoe, D.D.S. in his biological theory of ionization. Once relationship values are calculated, tne specific zone in which the patient falls may be determined using the Tables of Needs, as provided in Table IV below. The Table of Needs includes twelve zones. Each zone is defined by a combination of values indicating either anion (AN) or cation (CAT), positive ion (P) or negative ion (N), and alkaline (AL) or acidic AC). In addition, each zone specifies what treatment may be required to alleviate the greatest imbalance. For example, Zone 1 below indicates a treatment focusing on alkalizing saliva (i.e. if patient saliva is highly acidic). Thus, the Table of Needs identifies the major imbalance.
Table IV: Table of Needs
Figure imgf000027_0001
As provided in the Table IV, the arrow pointing up shows the organ that needs to be strengthened. For example, the kidney needs to be strengthened in Zone 10. The arrow pointing down shows the organ that requires drainage: heart, blood, endocrine. "Lower NH4" shows you the primary goal. Q4 tells you they need substances from Quadrant 4, and to move in that direction. The substances or therapies listed let you know major Intervention Strategies for this zone. The lower case letters (m,d,l) next to the firing order lets you know if they are in mid, light or dark RED. In this case it is dark red because the AN need is first. There ape specific foods to use and avoid for each determination in each Color Zone, or 36 different base diets.
The relationship values may be used to calculate the bodies ability to experience ' cationic and anionic events, the ionization potential required to do so as either positive or negative ions, the oxidation reduction effect resulting from this process and incoming pollutants, and their combined effect on the acid base balance and buffering capability of the system. This transformative ability is dependant on the integrity of the electrodynamic field that maintains the organization of the system, an imbalance in which can be observed as abnormalities in the proportional relationship of the normal values. This is also why certain wavelengths of light and electromagnetic frequencies, whether isolated or as the resonant photon emission properties of foods and substances, cause healing in the human system when their vectors effect a return towards the normal values of the electrodynamic field that sustains us. And this is why what we are measuring here is of such Vital importance. The terrain is this electrodynamic field. BTM cannot tell you a genetic predisposition, but it can tell you if the inner environment is stressing and thus altering that genetic information and how to remove the stress. BTM shows how to balance the terrain so that it is no longer a host for disease. It can show you how to achieve and maintain the best possible environment for the optimal performance of the structure and the function of the human being. After determining the zone in which the patient falls using the Table of Needs, the specific'treatment, or "primary strategy", is established by correlating the zone with the Zones Tables. Table V includes treatment information corresponding to Zones Z1-Z4.

The Zone Tables may then be correlated to the Saliva Reference Values ("SRV") Basic Support Table, as set forth below in Table XVTfl.
Table XVπi:

The SRV Basic Support Table may be used if a particular patient's saliva properties are further from normal balance compared to urine properties. Preferably, if saliva properties deviate from normal more than 10% greater than the deviation of urine from normal, the above SRV Basic Support Table is used for determining the primary strategy.
The Zone Tables may also be correlated to the Urine Locator Value ("ULV") ratios set forth in the ULV Ratios Basic Support Table shown in Table XLX below: Table XTX:

All of the above noted information (as provided in the SLV and URV tables) is conveniently summarized in the computer program disclosed herein. As best shown in Figures 3 and 4, examples of console pages are provided showing results from saliva analysis in Biogram 1 plot and table, results from urine analysis in Biogram 2 plot and table, as well as results from psyche analysis shown in Biogram 3 and table.
The console page shown in Figure 3 includes relatively imbalanced urine properties, shown in Biogram 2 (10). The patient also displays imbalanced saliva properties, shown in Biogram 1 (12), though not as deviant as Biogram 2. Psyche deviation (14) is also provided on the console page. Note that the greatest deviation indicates urine pH is -100.0% off from normal (16). As such, the primary strategy (18) includes raising urine pH. Treatment is provided in the Zones Table for Zone 9b, Table XUJ (given CAT need is less than AN need), and indicates a treatment comprising a blood cleanser and/or lymph drainage. The console page shown in Figure 4 includes relatively imbalanced saliva properties, shown in Biogram 1 (20). The patient displays only slightly imbalanced urine properties, shown in Biogram 1 (22). As such, the SRV Basic Support Table, Table XVUI may be consulted for treatment options. Alternatively, the Zone Tables may be used, in which case the individual falls within Zone Z10, with a urine pH deviation of 51%. Data provided in the console pages is calculated using methods disclosed herein, and as provided in calculations set forth in Figure 2. This data may then be input into a spreadsheet program to create the biograms (i.e. data plots) provided on the console pages, such as shown in Figures 3-4. An exemplary format for the spreadsheet program is provided in Figure 5. Specific treatment is thus provided according to the Zones Tables. Specific foods that are beneficial to a particular patient (depending on the Zone in which he or she falls), as well as foods that should be avoided, are set forth in Appendix U. The information provided in Appendix II may be used to enhance treatment of the particular treatment administered to a patient. The Chemistry and Correlations
The bioelectrical state and needs of the body can be determined from urine and saliva pH and ORP, and urine conductivity, sugars (brix), NH4+, and N03-, which are then calculated to represent anionic / cationic, positive ion / negative ion, acid / base, and oxidation / reduction state and need. Calculations of these relationships provide the following data:
1. Cationic states correlate to Quadrant 3 (as provided in Table IT);
2. Anionic states correlate to Quadrant 1, and may be graphically represented as such on the f-c axis; 3. Positive and negative ion may be calculated from conductivity, brix, NH4+ and N03-, graphically represented on the a-h axis, and remain consistent with the findings of both Vincent and Reams; 4. Quadrant 3 did not represent 'alkalinity', but an alkaline reaction to an acidic state of the tissue, likewise Quadrant 1, an acidic reaction to an alkaline substance. Tissue acidity is a fundamental finding in pathology in Biological Medicine. Corrected pH values were found to plot in Quadrant 3 exclusively, with an adjustment in the plot point where a solid dot shows a reaction by the alkaline buffers to tissue acidity, and a hollow dot shows a double acid state, or depletion of the alkaline reserve and lack of ability to respond to tissue acidity. The 'i' point shows normal pH (discussed below). Need versus State
As best shown in the graphs below, a patients' values may be plotted onto the Quadrants. The darker gray triangle shows their state, and the lighter gray triangle shows their need. The dot represents the corrected pH values as described above. There are two views. The first is the 'Total State and Need'. Their size and placement reveal severity and utilization status. The second view represents the calculated values and is called the 'Window of Opportunity', which calculates the difference between the two and reveals dosage sensitivity and specificity. Following are examples of : 1) A mild liver drainage disturbance.

The "i" point, or center of the graph, represents point zero, or "Zero Need" - the goal. The bigger the shape of the need is, the greater the imbalance. It has been fascinating to observe that when a patient reaches and maintains "Zero Need" status, they also tend to be in "Present Time", or, experiencing a state of well-being.
Evaluation of Effectiveness
If an intervention is given and the values plotted from the next urine and saliva measurements show a decrease in the shape towards point "i", there has been improvement. If not, specific information can be deduced from the data as to how to more effectively proceed with the case. For example, it was found that: l.The ratios between the values directly correlated to the state of a patients autonomic Regulation and could pinpoint where a metabolic correction was required. 2. A patient's inability to utilize the intervention required in a specific Zone correlated to the high probability of a regulation, focal or Obstacle1 problem that had to be addressed first. Data Management Tools
1. Interventions are prioritized according to the most relevant need.
2. Substances or therapies with the appropriate bioelectrical characteristics are suggested or can be evaluated. 3. Primary Strategy and Detox Strategy can be computed.
4. Regulation can be assessed and metabolic corrections made.
5. Progress can be tracked by observing the graphs over time of: a. sum of total needs, b. % of deviation from normal values, c. and deviation from proportional balance.
6. Rigidity can be observed.
7. Momentum can be plotted.
8. Interventions can be assessed and logged per their specific effects on specific values.
9. 'Window of Opportunity' determinations allow for predicting patient sensitivity to dosage. 10. 'Locked Zone' alert predicts possibility that no intervention is useful at this time, and to instead focus on regulation, focal or Obstacle (including diet) issues.
11. Flexible Master Console that the doctor can configure to show preferred information.
12. Files, notes, prescription, and labs management and storage.
13. Reference database and Tutorial. 14. Protocol and Diet are printable.
In brief, BTM allows you to evaluate the terrain, know when to provide support, how to provide support, and then evaluate the effectiveness of the support relevant to utilization of the intervention. BTM Understanding of The Terrain and Heavy Metal Toxicity
Heavy Metal toxicity is a 'Pathogen' from which the terrain cannot generally recover on its own. It produces a rigid cationic. positive, oxidized, and acidic terrain state. This state frequently triangulates up into Quadrants 3 and sometimes 2. Pharmaceutically altered sulfur compounds like DMPS, a sulfonate, and chemicals such as EDTA and DMSA also have a cationic, positive, and acid effect on the terrain and triangulate into Quadrant 3. The substances in a Quadrant generate the imbalances found in the same Quadrant, whereas substances in the opposite Quadrant pull the terrain towards Zero Need. Therefore, these chemical methods of detox (in Quadrant 3) are directly contraindicated for metal toxic persons who triangulate into Quadrant 3. This explains a terrain specific aspect of the
'healing crisis' that is encountered with use of these chemical detoxification agents: they may be getting out some of the metals, but they are compromising the terrain in the process. NDF (a natural heavy metal and chemical detoxification agent invented by this author) has a flexible anionic, negative and positive, and alkalizing effect on the terrain. It triangulates into the opposite Quadrant 1, which is directly indicated. This is another reason why a 'healing crisis' is either minimized or not required during metal and chemical detox with NDF. One can also see from this why some very observant doctors have found that NDF tends to mitigate some of the side effects associated with DMPS and DMSA: it's a bioelectrical balancing phenomena due to NDF's anionic impact offsetting the cationic impact of both the chemical chelators and the heavy metals. NDF™ could also be chelating out the chemical chelators, as it is known to bind to and increase the elimination of a wide variety of dangerous chemicals including the hydrocarbons (i.e. the P=propane in DMPS). What Is Normal pH? A Paradigm Shift
BTM proposes a slightly different point of view on the subject of urine and saliva pH. The urine represents what we are eliminating; the saliva represents what we are keeping. The urine does not accurately represent the state of the body, but does represent what it is eliminating - ideally acidic wastes. The first morning saliva pH is the indicator of the state of the body: tissue, lymph, interstitial fluids and blood. In people with vibrant health, normal urine pH is about 5.8; normal saliva pH is about 7.1 am not suggesting that one acidify the body by acidifying the urine, but that one alkalizes the body by draining the acids via the urine, represented by an acidic urine pH, and simultaneously restoring the alkaline reserve as represented by the saliva pH at 7.
People with a urine pH of 6.8 and above, who have low urine conductivity, also show disturbed Phase 1 & 2 liver detox pathways. If the acid wastes of metabolism, and other acidic toxins are successfully leaving the body, the urine pH will reflect this by being acidic, at about 5.8 - 6.0. If LiverLife (BioRay™), a spagyric type (predigested) liver and kidney support and drainage remedy including agaricus blazei and milk thistle, is given to a person with liver dysfunction, heavy metal toxicity, alkaline urine and low urine conductivity, their urine pH becomes acidic and the conductivity increases, and of course, they feel much better because the acids are now leaving the body. (This is represented earlier in the first two BTM Quadrant examples.) If one drains these acids, one also sees the saliva pH gradually return to where it should be, at about pH7, which it would not be able to do if the acids were not able to leave the body. People with a usual (unmedicated) urine pH of near 7 tend to have pelvic congestion, liver dysfunction, fatigue, pain, persistent viral and fungal infections, and trouble with detoxifying - due to the acids recirculating instead of leaving the body. Acids generate a powerful battery effect and field, which disturb our normal electrodynamic field. Tissue Acidity and Heavy Metal Toxicity
Excessive tissue acidity (free radicals, lactic and oxalic acid, etc. causing lack of oxygen) is a cause of pain and fatigue, but may not be the only cause. If the situation is complicated by viral, bacterial, parasitic and allergic causes, the tissue acidity caused by heavy metal toxicity will block the successful elimination of these other more superficial causes. One cannot completely correct acidemia or free calcium levels or the calcium / phosphorus ratio prior to heavy metal detox because the heavy metals are acidic and acid forming through their disturbance of a multitude of pathways.
BTM Evaluation: Correcting Tissue Acidity in the Heavy Metal Toxic Patient
If you have a BTM evaluation of the patient's terrain, and verification of heavy metal toxicity, the protocol that best suits their needs becomes clear. There are 12 different terrain zones, and over 36 sub categories, identifiable with BTM. Each one requires different remedies, foods and therapies to achieve the same primary goal: drain the toxins, replenish the alkaline reserve, and restore the electrodynamic field. NB: This analysis and protocol are not to be taken as a general protocol for this situation as metal toxicity, because of its pervasive and disruptive bioelectrical effects, and tissue acidity can exist in any of the different Zones, each one having different management parameters and strategies. Example:
Here is an example of a relatively simple case of tissue acidity and heavy metal toxicity, the data report for which has been condensed.

Figure imgf000048_0001
This person is in Zone 5, Quadrant 3, with low salts and alkaline urine being the most out of balance values. Requires substances predominantly in Quadrant 1. The primary needs are anionic / positive / acid. Total needs are at 12 points, a mid range number suggesting cautious case management. The patient is 50% out of balance. Regulation is blocked. The Gall Bladder meridian is weak, the Spleen meridian congested. Saliva is over oxidized and the urine is too reduced, indicating ongoing free radical damage. You can see that the 'Total Need and State' are very similar to the 'Window of Opportunity'. Dosage can be ramped up in 25% increments in an effort to restore Regulation.
The protocol options are selected according to their simultaneous impact of fulfilling the specific needs and correcting Regulation within the context of Zone 5.
Protocol Options for Example:
Primary Strategy*: LiverLife™
Drain acids: LiverLife™ Restore Alkaline Reserve: Zinc gluconate, Potassium Citrate, Wobenzyme with meals
Metal and Chemical Detox: NDF™
Terrain Support: Red Algae
Isopathic: Latensin
Exercise: mild walking, Hatha Yoga Therapy: Negativeur or Grounding, check for amalgams in teeth, check for EMR exposure, check for adhesions in the URQ (gall bladder and liver area), check for focal scars on the GB and Sp meridians, local biophoton therapy.
IIO2 (Inhaled Ionized Oxygen Therapy): 10 minutes positive, 2 minutes negative
Diet: Lemon, pineapple, beet. Print Diet list. Contraindications: sulfones, hydrocarbons, vigorous exercise in the sun, heat, hyperthermia, chlorine/bromine/fluorine exposure, EMR exposure, ozone, excess water. See Diet List. Dosage: Ramp up in 25% increments. Follow up: Retest in 3 days.
*Primary Strategy: this category of recommendation addresses the most out of balance value with a single remedy intervention. This way of approaching the case allows for one correction at a time, and then reevaluating its impact on the terrain. In this case it would be to drain acids and raise urine conductivity for a few days and then reevaluate the situation. LiverLife™ also happens to provide an excellent preparation for detox. This single intervention, restoring the ability to eliminate acids, can have profound effects on the rest of the terrain.
The BTM software generates the above information and more, including graphs representing the numerical values. Tables containing further intervention suggestions are available so the practitioner can select items that may be more pertinent to the patient's symptoms and still pertinent to the needs of the terrain.
There are many other causes of tissue acidity besides metal and chemical toxicity, allergies and infections.
BTM is a completely objective method of measuring, evaluating and regulating the state, flow and function of bioelectrical energy in the body and mind, referred to as the terrain. With BTM we are finding out what someone needs and then giving it to them in a way that they can utilize it and in the order required. This applies to the removal of Obstacles, the restoration of metabolic, mental, and emotional efficiency, and therapeutic interventions. We can know if they are able to utilize what they need, and if not, look for solutions to restore their ability to respond. As we move them closer to Zero Need, regulation opens. Arriving at Zero Need does not indicate that the person is 'cured'. It means that the terrain is again functional and no longer a host for disease. We have to keep them there long enough that 'self-regulation' is restored, which is similar to saying that the Inner Healer can function once more. This is an extremely powerful place within which interventions are much more effective and occasionally unnecessary.
Treatment System Summary:
The BTM method of the present invention includes analyzing specific properties of a patient's saliva and urine using laboratory techniques know in the art. Relationship values are thereby determined from the property data, and the zone in which the patient falls is established. Once the zone has been determined, the primary strategy (i.e. particular treatment) may be determined based on the Zone Tables. However, the specific treatment may be altered depending on the patient's saliva and urine deviations (from normal values, as known in the art), as well as ratio values, as provided in the SRV Basic Support Table as well as the ULV Basic Support Table.
The patient's data is preferable plotted on a terrain graph using data for both urine as well as saliva. All of this information may then be presented and managed on a console page as disclosed herein. In for the patient to receive the full benefit of the primary strategy, various obstacles specific to his or her quadrant should be avoided, as set forth in Table H Thus, plotting the data on a terrain graph helps to identify the obstacles to be avoided. Furthermore, the patient should not ingest foods that will negate, or hamper, the benefits or the treatment provided in the primary strategy. Depending on the zone in which the patient falls, particular foods are beneficial and other foods should be avoided. Such foods are set forth, by zone, in Appendix II. Thus, adherence to beneficial foods, and avoidance of deleterious foods, helps to ensure that the patient receives the maximal benefit of the primary strategy.
Additional guidance on proper diet, as well as water intake and sleep, is set forth in Common Sense Health document provided at www.healthydetox.org. and incorporated herein by referenced. Such guidance provides the patient with a structured diet and lifestyle, thereby maximizing the benefits of the primary strategy.
It will be apparent to one of ordinary skill in the art that various modifications and variations can be made in construction or configuration of the present invention without departing from the scope or spirit of the invention. Thus, it is intended that the present invention cover such modifications and variations, and as may be applied to the central features set forth above, provided they come within the scope of the following claims and their equivalents.

THE LADDER TO FREEDOM
The basic Obstacles are listed on The Ladder to Freedom in the order that they tend to be priorities to a person's health. However, each person has his or her own priorities and the following exact order may not pertain to you. The more severe the area of disturbance, the higher the priority it has.
Start climbing the Ladder to Freedom at the first rung you have not completed, and skip any that you have. The reason the Obstacles are arranged in the following sequence is that, most of the time, if you have not completed dealing with a lower numbered Obstacle it may not be prudent or effective to deal with a higher numbered Obstacle first.
