Description

THE POWER TRANSMITTING APPARATUS FOR MOTOR
RUNNING MACHINE
Technical Field The present invention relates to an apparatus for transmitting a driving
force in a motored running machine, and in particular to an apparatus for
transmitting a driving force in a motored running machine in which a person can
take exercise together with another person or pet in such a manner that a
rotational force of a common motored running machine is transferred to a roller
shaft of a non-motored assistant running machine.
Background Art
Many persons take exercises in a health club together with other
persons, so that the persons don't feel boring therein. At this time, the persons
take exercises with a certain competition with respect to the persons taking
exercises together in the health club. However, a certain economic burden
occurs when persons take exercises in the health club, or there is a time limit in
taking exercise in the health club. Recently, a motored running machine has
been widely used for effectively taking exercises at home while saving money. However, a person who takes exercises alone at home may feel boring, so that it is impossible to effectively and continuously take exercises at home.
As shown in Figures 1 through 3, a conventional motored running
machine is configured in such a manner that bearings are engaged at both ends
of a rear roller 31 , and a driving force of a motor is transferred to the rear roller
31 through a belt when a running machine is operated. Here, ass shown in
Figures 2 and 3 a shaft 110 passes through and is engaged with a belt adjusting
bolt 160 through a bracket 150 installed in an inner side of a frame at both
surfaces, so that a rotational force of a roller is not transferred to an assistant
running machine. In the case of pets, the number of persons who raise the pets at home
is increased. The industry related to the pets has been greatly increased. The
pet industry is classified into various fields such as a food, hospital, beauty care,
selling and buying, education, health, etc. Only very unique products related
with the pets have been developed. Recently, a pet-dedicated running machine has been developed for
exercise of pet. The above running machine is operated by a function operation
controlled by an owner of a pet. Namely, the pet cannot take exercise by himself.
The above conventional pet-dedicated running machine has many problems
that it is designed for only based on a human idea. The pet's intelligence and
instinct understanding concerning the pets are not fully considered. Therefore, it is impossible to achieve an effective exercise of the pet by an owner of the pet. First, since the pet does not feel getting healthy through the exercise,
the pet cannot have the purpose of exercise. Therefore, when the pet takes
exercise using the running machine, the owner of the pet cannot continue the
exercise of pet even when the pet needs more exercise.
Second, the pets have a lot of interest with respect to a new thing but
have a lot of fear. Therefore, the pets don't like running alone.
Third, the pets are a kind of species that have been used to live and
hunt in a group. Therefore, the pets have a certain intimating character that
follows an activity of an owner or other pets. When acting together in a group,
the pets have been used to feel joyful. Therefore, the pets feel tiered when the
pets take exercises on the running machine and don't feel interesting.
In addition, in order to overcome the above problems, the owner of pet
can buy a pet-dedicated running machine and takes exercise together with the
pets. But, in this case, the cost is high. Since two running machines should be
separately operated when starting and stopping the exercises, there is a lot of
inconvenience in operation. When an emergency situation occurs during the
exercises, it is impossible to quickly cope with the situation.
According to the Korean patent laid-open No. 2003-0068099 (laid-open
date: August 19, 2003), there is provided a pet-dedicated running machine capable of keeping the pet healthy or enhancing the same based on an indoor
exercise. In the above pet-dedicated running machine, there are provided a
running belt that is movably engaged to a support frame structure supported on
the ground and runs in a longitudinal direction, and a roller member that is
rotatably engaged to the support frame structure, and supports both ends of the
running belt, and is engaged with the running belt. In the thusly-constituted
running machine, it is possible to allow the pets to take exercise in an indoor or
outdoor place. At the daytime when people generally go out, it is possible to
allow the pets to take exercise. Even when the weather is rainy or cold, it is
possible to allow the pets to take exercise, so that the pets can be raised in
healthy. However, in the above conventional running machine, there are
provided simple construction and operation of a pet-dedicated running machine.
In addition, it fails to disclose any construction and operation that the pets take
exercise together with human. Actually, there are some persons who change the designs of the
conventional pet-dedicated running machine and use the same without fully
understanding the basic characters of pets. Therefore, a proper pet-dedicated
exercise instrument capable of overcoming the above problems is urgently
needed. Disclosure of Invention

present invention, Figure 12 is a plane view illustrating a right side structure of a
rear side roller having a driving force transmission function of Figure 11 , and
Figure 13 is a view illustrating an installation state of a running machine
connected by a driving force transmission apparatus according to the present
invention.
As shown in Figure 4, a motored running machine 10 includes an
operation panel 11 and a handle provided in a front upper side. A driving motor
13 installed in the interior of a front lower side rotates a front roller 31 a. The
rotation of the front roller 31 a is transmitted to a rear roller 31 through a belt 14.
Therefore, a user takes exercise on the belt 14 while running and walking on
the same. In addition, in a human dedicated assistant running machine 21 or a pet dedicated assistant running machine 20 installed in one side of the motored
running machine 10, the front and rear rollers 41a and 41 are connected by the
belt 16. A connection body 50 having a connection unit capable of transmitting a
rotational force of the motored running machine 10 is installed between the rear
roller 31 of the motored running machine 10 and the rear roller 41 of the
assistant running machine 20, 21. The end portions of the rear rollers 31 , 41 are
finished by a certain finishing material. A safety bar 211 is installed in the human
dedicated assistant running machine 21 and the pet dedicated assistant running
machine 211 , respectively, so that the user or pet can take exercise on the
moving belt in safety.
Therefore, the rotational force of the driving motor 13 of the motored
running machine 10 is transmitted to the front roller 31a and the rear roller 31
through the belt 14. The rotational force of the rear roller 31 is transmitted to the
human dedicated assistant running machine 21 and the rear roller 31 of the pet
dedicated assistant running machine 20 through the connection unit 60 for
thereby rotating the belt of the assistant running machine. Therefore, the human
user can take exercise together with the human user of the human dedicated
assistant running machine 21 and the pet of the pet dedicated assistant running
machine 20. In addition, it is possible to take various exercises based on the
functions of the human dedicated assistant running machine 21 and the per dedicated running machine 20 in such a manner that the user of the assistant
running machine 10 selects and operates a desired function.
The driving force transmission part of the motored running machine 10 is
provided at the shaft of the rear roller 31 that is a rotary shaft and is connected
with the assistant running machine by the connection unit. Therefore, even
when the inclination angle of the motored running machine is changed, it is
possible to transmit the same rotational force to the assistant running machine. In the case that a certain number of family members take exercises by
connecting the human dedicated assistant running machine 21 to the motored
running machine 10, when the family members get on the belt at the time when
the running machine starts, over loads occur as the friction force between a
running plate 170 and the belt 14 is increased. Therefore, it is preferred to take
exercise on the human dedicated assistant running machine 21 with a certain
time difference from the motored running machine 10. Figure 5 is a perspective view illustrating an engagement of a driving
force transmission opening frame according to a preferred embodiment of the
present invention, Figure 6 is a disassembled perspective view illustrating a
driving force transmission opening frame of Figure 5, Figure 7 is an engaged
perspective view illustrating a driving transmission of Figure 5, and Figure 8 is a
plane view illustrating a right side structure of a rear side roller engaged with a driving force transmission opening frame of Figure 5.
As shown in Figures 5 through 8, in the driving force transmission
apparatus according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the
rear roller part of the belt frame 15 of the conventional motored running
machine 10 is cut, and a driving force opening frame 100 is connected thereto.
Therefore, a driving force transmission function is provided to the conventional
motored running machine 10. Namely, in the present invention, the users of the
conventional motored running machines change the conventional running
machines with the motored running machines having a driving force
transmission function and connect with a non-motored assistant running
machine at a low cost, so that the owners can take exercise together with family
members and pets.
As shown in Figure 5, a belt frame 15 is installed at the belt 14 of the
motored running machine 10, and a driving force transmission opening frame
100 is bolt-engaged to a rear end of the belt frame 15.
A washer 131 is inserted into an end of the rear roller 31 except for a
bearing 130. The shaft 110 rotating by the rotation of the rear roller 31 includes
a rectangular column shaped driving force transmission part 33 at an end of the
same and is exposed from an opening 101 through a bearing housing 140
formed in the bracket 150 of the driving force transmission opening frame 100. A connection socket 34 operating as a bearing during an adjustment of
inclination is inserted into the opening 101 of the driving force transmission
opening frame 100. The connection socket 34 exposed from the opening 101
and a lateral plate 35 of the connection body 50 are bolt-engaged, so that the
connection body 50 is connected with the motored running machine 10.
As shown in Figures 6 and 7, a bearing housing 140 is installed in the
bracket 150 of the driving force transmission opening frame 100. The shaft 110
fixed with the roller by disposing the washer 131 therein is inserted into the
bearing housing 140. When the roller is rotated, it rotates together for thereby
transmitting a driving force.
A bolt hole 141 is formed in the bracket 150 and the bearing housing 140
of the driving force transmission opening frame 100, and the bearing housing
140 passes through a belt adjusting bolt 160 through the bracket 150, so that
the rear roller 31 is stably supported, and the belt 14 is adjusted. As shown in Figure 8, the washer 131 is inserted into the both ends of
the rear roller 31 instead of the bearing for thereby fixing the rear roller 31 and
the shaft 110. The shaft 110 is inserted into the bearing housing 140 having the
bearing 130 inserted therein in such a manner that a rectangular column
shaped metal or a PVC piece are prepared and installed in the bracket 150 of
the driving force transmission opening frame 100, so that the roller and shaft are rotated together when the running machine operates for thereby
transmitting a rotational force.
At this time, the rectangular column shaped driving force transmission
part 33 of the end of the shaft of the rear roller 31 is exposed through the
opening 101 and is connected with the driving force transmission part 33 of the
end of the shaft of the rear roller 41 of the assistant running machine by the
connection unit for thereby transmitting a rotational force.
Figure 9 is a disassembled perspective view illustrating a driving force
transmission apparatus according to a preferred embodiment of Figure 5. As
shown therein, a belt frame 15 is installed at a belt 14 of the motored running
machine 10, and the driving force transmission opening frame 100 integrally
engaged with the bracket 150 is bolt-engaged with the belt frame 15 at the
driving force transmission part 30 in which the rear roller 31 is provided at the
rear end of the belt frame. The bearing housing 140 is installed in the bracket 150, and the driving
force transmission part 33 of the end of the shaft 110 fixed with the roller by the
washer is inserted into the bearing housing and is rotated together with the
roller when the roller operates for thereby transmitting a driving force.
The connection socket 34 bolt-engaged with the lateral plate 35 inserted
and exposed through the opening of the connection body 50 is inserted into an engaging hole of the driving force transmission opening frame 100 for thereby
achieving an operation of a bearing capable of stably supporting the connection
body 50 when adjusting the inclination.
The connection body 50 is connected in such a manner that the distance
and connection angle between the motored running machine 10 and the
assistant running machines 20 and 21 are maintained. The connection body 50
includes a body having an opening at both sides, a cover 51 hinged for thereby
being opened, and a lateral plate 35 bolt-engaged with the connection socket
34 of the running machine through the opening of the connection body 50.
There is provided a connection unit 60 in the interior of the connection body 50
for connecting the driving force transmission part 33 of the motored running
machine 10 and the assistant running machines 20 and 21 for thereby
transmitting a driving force.
Here, the connection unit 60 is a universal joint or a connection bar. In
the present invention, the universal joint is preferably used as the connection
unit 60.
The universal joint bar used as the connection unit is separated into two
parts. The both ends of the bar are engaged with the driving force transmission
part 33 using the universal joint having a rectangular groove for thereby being
inserted into the driving force transmission part 33. In each engaged part of the separated parts, a concave part is formed in one surface, and a convex part is
formed in the other surface for thereby corresponding to the concave part and
being engaged, so that the rotational force is transmitted. A thread part is
formed in an outer portion of the engaged part. In the other engaged part, an
engaging nut contacting with the outer diameter and a female thread is formed
in the outer side, and the thread part and engaging nut are integrally engaged.
When the motored running machine and the assistant running machine are
connected using the connection unit, even when the motored running machine
and the assistant running machine are not in a horizontal state or do not have a
right angle connection, it is possible to easily transmit a rotational force from the
motored running machine to the assistant running machine. When the assistant
running machine is not used, it is easy to separate the same.
When the connection bar is used as the connection unit, since the
connection bar is preferably separated into two parts for thereby transmitting the
rotational force of the motored running machine to the assistant running
machine even when the motored running machine and the assistant running
machine are eccentrically arranged. At this time, a rectangular driving force
transmission groove of which one side is opened is formed at the both ends of
the connection bar for thereby being inserted into the driving force transmission
part. In addition, an engaging nut having a female thread engaged with a thread formed in an outer surface of the driving force transmission part contacts with
an outer diameter of the connection bar in one side of the opened portion in
order for the driving force transmission groove not to be escaped from the
driving force transmission part. Therefore, the engaging nut is fixed to the
thread of the driving force transmission part in a state that the rectangular
column shaped driving force transmission part is inserted in the driving force
transmission groove of the connection bar. The connection bar separated into
two parts is connected with the universal joint. Even when the motored running
machine and the assistant running machine are eccentrically connected, the
rotational force of the motored running machine is efficiently transmitted to the
assistant running machine.
Figure 10 is a view illustrating a connection state of the driving force
transmission apparatus of Figure 5. As shown therein, each driving force
transmission opening frame 100 is fixed to an end of the belt frame 15 by a bolt,
and the connection socket 34 is inserted into the inside of the driving force
transmission opening frame and operates as a bearing.
Therefore, when the angle of the motored running machine 10 is
adjusted, the rear roller 31a rises with respect to the rotational axis of the rear
roller 31 , so that the inclinations of the belt frame 15 and the driving force
transmission opening frame 100 are changed. At this time, when the driving force transmission opening frame 100 and the connection body 50 are engaged
without the connection socket 34, the inclination angle is adjusted together with
the connection body. Therefore, the installation state gets unstable. A certain
accident may occur. The engagement of the driving force transmission opening
frame 100 and the connection body 50 is achieve in such a manner that the
lateral plate 35 inserted into the connection socket 34 operating as a bearing
and the opening of the connection body 50 is bolt-fixed.
Figure 11 is a perspective view illustrating a driving force transmission
unit according to another embodiment of the present invention, and Figure 12 is
a plane view illustrating a right side structure of a rear roller having a driving
force transmission function of Figure 11.
As shown in Figures 11 and 12, in the driving force transmission
apparatus according to another embodiment of the present invention, the
running machine having a desired driving force transmission function is
fabricated in such a manner that the driving force transmission portion of the
end of the belt frame 15 of the conventional motored running machine is not cut
but used with no change.
As shown in Figure 11 , a semicircular groove 180 is formed on an upper
side of the belt frame 15 of the both sides positioned at the portion of the rear
roller of the motored running machine, and a semicircular bracket 150 corresponding to the semicircular groove formed in the upper side of the frame
is engaged for thereby forming an opening portion.
As shown in Figures 6 and 7, the bearing housing 140 is installed in the
bracket 150, and the rear roller 31 and the shaft 110 are inserted into the
bearing housing 140 and are rotated when the roller is rotated for thereby
transmitting a driving force. The bolt hole 141 passes through the bracket 150
and the bearing housing 140, and the belt adjusting bolt 160 passes through the
bracket 150 and the bearing housing 140 for thereby supporting the rear roller
31 and adjusting the belt. The driving force transmission part 33 of the end of the shaft 110 is
exposed through the opening portion formed in such a manner that the
semicircular groove 180 of the upper frame and the semicircular protrusion of
the bracket 150 are engaged, and the driving force transmission part 33 is
connected with the connection unit 60. The transmission of the rotational force will be described with reference
to Figure 12. The bearing housing 140 is installed in the bracket 150 of the
motored running machine 10, and the shaft 110 fixed with the roller using the
washer 131 is inserted into the bearing housing 140. When the running machine
operates, the shaft 110 is rotated through the bearing housing 140 of the
bracket 150. A bolt hole is formed near the opening of the frame, and the lateral plate 35 having a slide ring inserted thereinto is bolt-fixed for thereby achieving
an easier installation of the connection body 50.
Figure 13 is a view illustrating another example of an installation state of
a running machine connected with a driving force transmission apparatus
according to the present invention. In the above construction, the pet dedicated
assistant running machine 20 is not connected with the human dedicated
running machine 10. Namely, the running machine is fabricated for only the
exercises of the pets. A plurality of pet dedicated running machines 20 are
driven by the driving apparatus 80 having the front and rear motors 81 and 83. The driving apparatus 80 includes an operation part 80a capable of
adjusting a certain operation state of a timer, a speed adjuster, etc. Front and
rear rollers 81 a and 83a are provided in the upper and lower sides of the driving
apparatus 80 and are connected with the front and rear motors 81 and 83 that
drive the front and rear rollers 81 a and 83a. The front roller 81 a is connected
with the driving force transmission apparatus P that transmits a rotational force
to the front roller 41a of the pet dedicated assistant running machine. The rear
roller 83a is connected with the driving force transmission apparatus P that
transmits a rotational force to the rear roller 41 of the pet dedicated assistant
running machine 20. At this time, when the driving force transmission apparatus P is installed in the front and rear rollers 41a and 41 of the pet dedicated running machine 20,
a driving force transmission can be achieved more easily. In addition, it is
