Abstract

The invention relates to a self-adhesive element for drawing wound edges closer together. In medical practice involving wound healing and cicatrisation, the closure of a wound often requires the wound edges to be forced closer together mechanically using apposition or suture stitches. The inventive device consists of an assembly comprising two pieces of thin, specially-designed tape. The simplicity of the device enables same to be applied without difficulty by any first aid provider, including personnel with no special healthcare knowledge. The invention offers further additional advantages, e.g.: apposition of the edges with three resistant strips; good holding strength owing to the use of four self-adhesive zones; possible optimum wound ventilation, thereby enabling progress monitoring and checking; and easy topical application of the necessary medication. In addition, the device can be sterilised using standard methods and can be supplied in an individual package or in blocks containing several single units.

Description

In medical practice concerning the healing and healing of wounds, it is appropriate that in the very important ones, its closure is forced by approximating the edges by means of stitches made with thread and needle, while in the minor and not minor This form of action is necessary because its healing takes place spontaneously without any special mechanical help.
In wounds of medium importance that also require the approximation of their edges for proper healing, this can also be achieved by the procedure mentioned sewing by means of stitches, but its less seriousness has always raised in the professional media the concern of finding a intermediate alternative solution with which to achieve the desired approach effect in a less traumatic way.
Currently, this effect is achieved using the so-called "approach points", which consist of narrow ribbons of plastic or textile material impregnated with an adhesive substance, whose respective ends can adhere to the areas near the edges of the wound, holding and preventing their separation
The placement of these approach points is done by gluing one end of the tape over the area near one of the edges of the wound after which, while with one hand these edges are held as close together as possible with the other hand is glued on the area near the opposite edge of the free end of the tape, maintaining sufficient tension therein so that when releasing its ends the approximation achieved is maintained.
The implementation of the operations described is not easy to perform and a certain skill is required to correctly achieve the desired effect, the greater the number of approach points to be placed on the wound.
Si consideramos que una de las cualidades más deseables en este tipo de remedios es la de su fácil aplicación para que su uso no esté reservado exclusivamente a personal sanitarioIf we consider that one of the most desirable qualities in this type of remedies is that of its easy application so that its use is not reserved exclusively for healthcare personnel
HOJA DE SUSTITUCIÓN (REGLA 26) especializado sino que, por el contrario, esté al alcance de cualquier persona que se encuentre en la necesidad de constituirse en socorriste, concluiremos que sería muy útil contar con un elemento que proporcionara esta sencillez sin merma de la eficacia necesaria.SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) specialized but, on the contrary, is within the reach of any person who is in need of becoming a rescue worker, we will conclude that it would be very useful to have an element that would provide this simplicity without reducing the necessary effectiveness.
The invention presented is described by an embodiment that should be understood as a non-limiting example.
To help the better understanding of its constitution, the accompanying drawings will be used, which will be referred to by the numbers and letters indicated therein: Figure 1 represents plan and elevation of each of the two pieces that compose it; Figure 2 represents plan and elevation of the set of them before use; Figure 3 represents a perspective of the same set that shows its relative situation during the application process on the open wound; Figure 4 represents, finally, a plan of the two pieces after being placed and with the wound already closed.
The invention consists of two pieces consisting of two pieces of tape A and B (Fig. 1) of very small thickness, made with special design in plastic or textile material with a certain degree of elasticity: the tape A has a certain length of its central part two recesses or bites R substantially rectangular, with axial symmetry, which reduce its width E to that of a narrow band bl; the tape B has a perforation P with a axial and substantially rectangular symmetry at a certain length of its central part, which retains two bands b2 of widths e2 much smaller than that of its total width E; to avoid the accumulation of tensions that could originate during use, causing their breakage, the lower angles of the recesses of the tape A and those of the rectangular perforation of the tape B are rounded.
Las zonas así impregnadas están protegidasIn each of these tapes, the front faces of their ends are marked with distinctive marks that differentiate them and which in the example at hand correspond to an arrow and a circle, respectively. In the areas corresponding to the marks and on the back, the tapes are impregnated with a substance Ad. adherently effective on human skin. The areas so impregnated are protected
In order not to favor the spontaneous detachment of the skin from the areas impregnated with adhesive and reduce the possibility of damaging hooks, the outer angles of the tapes are rounded.
The position of use of the assembly formed by both tapes (Figs. 2 and 3) is such that the tape A is introduced through the rectangular perforation of the tape B being in its final presentation crossed alternately, coaxially superimposed on each other ( Fig. 2) and without being able to stick to each other by virtue of the non-stick sheet L interposed.
Con base en lo anterior el funcionamiento del invento será el siguiente:Based on the foregoing, the operation of the invention will be as follows:
The non-stick sheets L corresponding to the areas marked with a circle on each of the tapes are removed; It is placed on the wound. It is necessary to close and normally to the direction of the wound the set of coaxially superimposed bands A and B (Fig. 2) and with the fingers it is pressed strongly on the circles that will have been placed, respectively, on one and the other. sides of the open wound Ha and with the unprotected adherent substance, whereby the corresponding areas will adhere to the skin; the non-stick sheets L corresponding to the areas marked with an arrow are removed and these areas are taken, at their ends, with the index and thumb of each hand and pulled from them, separating them, in the direction of the arrows with a force F (Fig. 3); with this action the edges or lips of the wound are comfortably approaching and when it is considered that the approximation is sufficient the ends marked with arrows are applied strongly on the skin to which, equally, they will adhere, with this the closing action of the Hc wound and fixation of the tapes on the skin will be finished. This operation is repeated as many times as necessary with as many approximators depending on the length and importance of the wound to be closed.
Este aproximador tiene las siguientes ventajas:This approximator has the following advantages:
La aproximación de los bordes / labios de la herida se realiza cómodamente sin la molestaThe approach of the edges / lips of the wound is done comfortably without the annoying
HOJA DE SUSTITUCIÓN (REGLA 26) necesidad de que el operador tenga que mantenerlos cerrados con una mano mientras con la otra aplica el aproximador y sin que se requiera una formación especializada previa.SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) need for the operator to have to keep them closed with one hand while with the other applies the approximator and without requiring prior specialized training.
The fixing force is considerably increased since it is achieved through four points of adhesion on the skin: two corresponding to the areas marked with a circle and two corresponding to the areas marked with an arrow that will have been displaced with respect to the approach of those (Fig. 4).
Each approach point is materialized by three very narrow bands, one bl and two b2, which withstand the necessary tension for wound closure.
It allows the perfect aeration of the wound favoring its healing.
It allows the visualization of the wound, the monitoring and control of its evolution as well as the topical application of the necessary medication.
It allows sterilization to reach the user in optimal sanitary conditions of use.
It allows its individual packaging or in blocks composed of several simple units.
The invention is not strictly limited to the embodiment illustrated but includes any other variant of execution.
The materials whose use is foreseen are those currently used in the manufacture of consumable sanitary material, of cure.
