Abstract

Comprende un primer elemento de entrada de una fibra óptica (2) por la que circula una señal portadora de información (S1 )? un bloque (3) detector óptico, un bloque (4) ecualizador no lineal y un bloque (5) procesador final. Se caracteriza por el hecho de que comprende un bloque ecualizador no lineal eléctrico (4), conectado entre la salida del bloque detector óptico (3) y la entrada del bloque procesador final (5), que compensa la característica no lineal cuadrática del detector óptico (3). Se consigue de este modo que el conjunto de los dos bloques (3 y 4) presenten una característica conjunta lineal entre la envolvente de campo eléctrico de la señal óptica portadora de información (S1 ) en la fibra óptica (2) y la señal eléctrica (S3), y que, de este modo, el bloque procesador final (5) pueda compensar, de forma más efectiva, las distorsiones lineales que sufre la señal óptica en la transmisión por la fibra óptica. Se consigue un receptor óptico (1 ) con compensación no lineal del proceso de foto-detección y con compensación lineal de las distorsiones lineales de la transmisión por la fibra.
