Abstract

A tool box having a carrier frame enclosed therein for supporting a handle of a pivoting tool or shaft. The tool box having a bottom shell and a top cover closable by a snap fastener. The tool box being stackable. Trhe tool box is capable of being contained in a tool rack in stacked configuration.

CONTAINER HAVING TOOL APERTURE

FIELD OF INVENTION

The present invention related to a tool box and, more particularly, to a tool box for a single-stack tool rack, which comprises an upright pivot shaft, a plurality of tool boxes respectively pivoted to the upright pivot shaft and arranged in a stack, and a carrying handle provided at the top side of the upright pivot shaft. The carrying handle is formed of a handle body mountable to the upright pivot shaft, and a hand tool detachably connected to the handle body to serve as a handgrip.

DESCRIPTION OF THE RELATED ART

Various different designs of took racks and boxes have been disclosed for use to hold tools and accessories, and have appeared on the market. In order to provide more compartments for holding more tools and/or accessories, the dimension of the tool rack or box should be as ample as possible. However, it is inconvenient to carry a bulky or heavy tool rack from place to place with a tool box.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention comprises a toolbox to fit within a single-stack tool rack which is light weight and which does not require significant installation space. It is another object of the present invention to provide a tool box and a single-stack tool rack which can easily be carried from place to place by hand, or connected to a wall or other support. It is still another object of the present invention to provide a single-stack tool rack and tool box which enables the user to arrange storage items in a preferred order. To achieve these and other objects of the present invention, the tool box comprises a plastic container to fit on a single-stack tool rack comprising: a base, the base having an upright pivot shaft perpendicularly extended from a horizontal top face thereof; a plurality of tool boxes respectively pivoted to the upright pivot shaft of the base and arranged in a stack, the tool boxes each comprising a coupling ring which respectively sleeves onto the upright pivot shaft of the base wherein the tool box positioning structure provides in the coupling rings of the tool boxes and the upright pivot shaft of the base for enabling the rotation for the positioning of the tool boxes to be horizontally turned about the upright pivot shaft and positioned in one of a series of angular position; and a handle coupled to a top end of the upright pivot shaft, the handle comprises a handle body coupled to the upright pivot shaft, the handle body having a first end mountable to the upright pivot shaft and a second end, and a hand tool coupled to the second end of the handle body. The tool box as claimed wherein said handle body comprises a mounting Diock mountable to the top open section of said upright pivot shaft of said base, a hollow shank adapted for receiving said hand tool, and a collar connected between said mounting block and said hollow shank and adapted for stopping said hollow shank outside said upright pivot shaft after connection of said mounting block to the top open section of said upright pivot shaft.

The tool box, wherein said base comprises a bottom open chamber, and a swivel case mounted in said bottom open chamber.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIG. 1 a single-stack tool rack box as shown comprises a tool box (20), and a handle fastening structure (21).

Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2 further, the tool box (20) comprises a box body (27). The box body (27), as shown in FIG 5, comprises a bottom shell (272) defining a plurality of compartments (271) for holding tools and/or accessories, a top cover (28) hinged to one side of the bottom shell (272) adapted for closing the compartments (271 ), and a snap fastener (29) adapted for locking the box body (27) when the top cover (28) closes on the bottom shell (272), Further, each carrier frame (26) has a side opening (261) corresponding to the snap fastener (29), for enabling the user to access to the snap fastener (29) conveniently.

Referring to FIG 5 and FIGS. 1 and 2, the aforesaid handle (51) comprises a handle body (40) and a hand tool (50). The handle body comprises a handle (51) and a threaded shoulder (53) disposed at one end of the handle (51 ).

As indicated above, the tool box of the present invention achieves the following advantages:

a) The tool boxes (20) are arranged in a stack on the tool rack whereby the tool rack requires less installation space b) The tool box (20) can be horizontally positioned about the upright pivot shaft (13) • and quickly positively positioned in a desired angular position convenient for enabling the user to pick up storage items;

c) The box bodies (27) of the tool boxes (20) can be made transparent and marked for convenient classification of storage items; and

d) The box bodies (27) and the carrier frames (26) of the tool boxes (20) are detachable so that the user can carry the box bodies (27) away from the carrier frames (26) for arranging storage items.

Although a particular embodiment of the invention has been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.

Claims

What is claimed:

1. A tool box comprising:

(a) a carrier frame and a box body carried in said carrier frame wherein coupling rings of said tool boxes are respectively extended from the carrier frame of said tool box at side;

(b) a base, said base comprising an upright pivot shaft perpendicularly extended from a horizontal top face thereof; and

(c) a plurality of tool boxes respectively pivoted to said upright pivot shaft of said base and arrange din a stack, said tool boxes each comprising a coupling ring respectively sleeved onto said upright pivot shaft of said base.

The tool box of claim 1 , wherein the box body of said tool box is comprised of a bottom shell defining a plurality of compartments for keeping storage items, a top cover hinged to one side of said bottom shell and adapted for closing said compartments, and a snap fastener installed in said bottom shell and said top cover and adapted for locking said top cover when said top cover closed on said bottom shell.

3. The tool box of claim 1 , wherein the carrier frame of said tool box has an opening in one side wall thereof corresponding to the snap fastener of the box body of the tool box.

4. The tool box of claim 1 , wherein said tool box is arranged in a stacked tool rack in a plurality of tool boxes.
