Abstract

A portable electrochemical power supply (20) for handheld electronic devices (88), such as cellular telephones, is disclosed. The power supply (20) includes a housing (22) with an electrical connector (86), a circuit board (24), and a removable electrochemical cell (72) disposed therein. The circuit board (24) carries power supply circuitry which receives electrical energy from the electrochemical cell (72) and provides a power supply output for powering an external device (88).
