Description

DESCRIPTION A CREDIT CARD MODULE AFFIXED VALIDATOR
The present invention relates to a validator which is used in the field of automatic fere collecting systems and data processing.
The automatic fare collecting system, which operates electronically, is a system which the fere is collected by a system consisting of a card named as "smart card" that thanks to a chip on its body it can preserve the data concerning the fare and a device named as "validator" which can read the data on the chip on the body of the smart card when the smart card is hold the terminal of the validator in question. The data contained in the chip on the body of the card is read by the validator thanks to its antenna and transmitted to processing unit, the remaining fere amounts is encrypted by the processing unit and written on the card again via the antenna, so the fare collection is completed.
The automatic fare collection system consisting of a smart card and a validator is used in transportation sector as it is used in many other sectors. In transportation sector, especially public transportation, transporting people as a group on land route -city buses-, railway, metro forms necessitate the use of the automatic fare collection system. In present system, the individuals who are the potential users of the system need to apply to some points previously formed by the system in order to purchase a smart card and have the card charged the ticketing fee.
The present validator takes place in a modular system, structure. The modular system is composed of a device recharger, charging the ticketing fee data on the smart card, a bank database recording and preserving the charging data, a validator with GPS and GPRS modules and a data collection center which is a combination of separate software where the whole system information and data is recorded and operated.
The smart card charged by the device recharger is hold towards the terminal of the validator where presents an antenna and the antenna interacts with this card. The validator permanently controls by means of the antenna if there is a card or not in the reading, interacting space. When a card is hold towards the interacting space, after checking if it is defined and recorded in the system, the whole data as the ticketing fee quantity, the time of the use, the number of the device is read and the reducing of ticketing fee is transacted and the whole data such as the remaining amount, the time of the transaction and the number of the transacting device is written on the card again. The data read is transmitted to the memory of the validator and from there transmitted to "data collection center" with the data of location regularly transferred from the GPS module via GPRS or wireless local area network. Data collection center is a software consisting of three basic groups which record, store and query the data. The data acquired, read by the validator is transmitted to the data collection center via GPRS or local area network and adjusted, systemized in order to be added to the database following the evaluation of the data. The data systemized is recorded to the database by another software and the data recorded to the database is queried by another software through a demanded criterion. The softwares are compatible to function in one computer or in separate computers. The data transmitted to the validator via GPRS or wireless local area network by the data collection center can be updated in many respects such as the quantity of the ticketing fee, the restrictions commonly named as "black list" or and other demanded prohibitions.
A credit card is a system of payment which provide to user to pay from a bank account verified by the bank through a plastic card. The credit card has a common use worldwide. The credit card of which the dimensions, thickness and the data stored on it is certified by the ISO standards and international scales has two operation systems namely contact cart and magnetic stripe card. The operation system of a credit card in practice is as follows; the credit card is slipped through or placed in a credit card reading socket named POS (point of sale) device, the data on chip or magnetic stripe is read , expurgated in a given standard, checked in respect of validity date, service code, the data confirmed to be valid is transmitted to the bank via compatible transmitting substructure , when the account is verified to be valid by the bank the charge is accepted, the data concerning the confirmation of payment is transmitted to the credit card reading module and the payment is completed.
Present invention offers innovation to present automatic fare collecting system consisting of a smart card which has to be separately produced and charged for this operation and a validator that a credit card is incorporated.
Present invention provides automatic fere collection system to operate with credit cards operation system through a combined operation substructure and credit card reading modules added to fare collection.
Two credit card reading modules are mounted on the body of this innovative validator one of which is a magnetic stripe and the other is a contact credit card. The credit card data read by the credit card reading modules is transmitted to the validator main board. Validator The main board of the validator is linked, communicated to the credit card reading modules. Validator main board transmits the credit card data via GPRS or WLAN or such compatible transmitting substructure to the bank credit card system. The bank credit card system evaluates the data and transmits back to the validator main board with a conclusion. The main board transmits the conclusion confirmation transmitted by the bank system to the screen of the validator and the user is informed about the ticketing.
Hereinafter, a preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described more in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings;
Figure l.is a sectional view showing front body internal part of the invention. Figure 2.is a sectional view showing back body internal part of the invention. Figure 3. is a side elevational view showing the invention.
In figure 1 in a sectional view showing a front body internal part of the invention a reference numeral 1 is a front body, colorful LCD screen is 2 , a contact card reading module is 3, a contact credit card is 4,
In figure 2, in a sectional view showing back body internal part of the invention a reference numeral 5 is a back body, 6 is a processor, 7 is a reading module for a magnetic stripe credit card, 8 is a validator main board, 9 is a magnetic stripe credit card. In figure 3, in a side elevational view of the invention, 1 is a front body, 2 is a colorful LCD screen, 3 is a contact card reading module, 5 is a validator back body, 7 is a reading module for a magnetic stripe credit card. The credit card data read by 3 contact card reading module or 7 magnetic stripe credit card reading module is transmitted to 8 validator main board. 8 validator main board transmits the credit card data to a bank credit card system via GPRS or WLAN or such compatible transmitting substructure. The credit card data evaluated by the bank is transmitted back via the same transmitting substructure. 8 main board, thanks to 6 processor transmits the evaluated bank data to 2 colorful LCD screen. The user is informed about the ticketing.
On 1 validator front body and 5 validator back bodies 3 contact card reading module and 7 magnetic stripe credit card reading modules are affixed, mounted and 8 main board is linked, communicated to 3 contact card reading module and 7 magnetic stripe credit card reading modules. Thereby, the users are free of purchasing a smart card previously and charge it for a ticketing fee. As defined above, it is an object of the present invention to provide a combination of credit card system with a validator fare collection system.
