Abstract

Implant materials and methods are provided for treating urinary incontinence. The implant material includes at least one pharmaceutically active formulation capable of promoting retropubic fat dissolution, and a biodegradable carrier material which is provided with the at least one pharmaceutically active formulation, wherein the implant material is sized and shaped for placement within a patient's retropubic space. In use. the material is introduced into the retropubic space, preferably via a minimally invasive procedure, to contact adjacent tissue and promote dissolution of retropubic fat therein and consequent induction of adhesions.
