Abstract

An electrochemical test sensor (10) includes a base (12), a generally hard electrically-conductive layer (14), an electrochemically-active layer (16), and a lid (20). The electrically-conductive layer (14) is located between the base (12) and the electrochemically-active layer (16). The electrically-conductive layer (14) and the electrochemically-active layer (16) are made of a different material. The electrically-conductive layer (14) and the electrochemically-active layer (16) form an electrode pattern (30, 32, 34). The electrochemical test sensor includes a reagent for determining an analyte of a fluid sample.
