Abstract
The invention relates to a device for controlling and regulating the energy consumption and thermal load in computers or computer units, comprising a supply voltage unit (24) which generates one or more controlled principal voltages (06) from the voltages of the external energy sources (25), said principal voltages (06) being adjustable by means of a voltage control unit (852) along with a power regulation unit (851). Said device further comprises a power distribution unit (01) which can distribute, to the set of chips, and influence the power supplied by the supply voltage unit (24) via the conductors of the principal voltages (06), a set of chips (02) which can provide a data processing functionality, at least one fan control unit (19) which can additionally cool the set of chips and other components, and a power loss control system (850) which is accommodated in the power distribution control unit (03), the set of chips (02), or the external supply voltage unit (24) and can monitor and regulate the energy consumption and the cooling process of the set of chips.
