Abstract
The invention relates to a device for the examination of breast tissue, comprising a cone-shaped holder (15), a microwave transmitter (2), a microwave receiver (3), at least one antenna device (10), and one controller (4). An interior side of the holder (15) accommodates the breast. The antenna device (10) is disposed on an exterior side of the holder (15). The controller (4) controls the microwave transmitter (2) and the microwave receiver (3). The microwave transmitter (2) transmits a microwave signal into the breast by means of the antenna device (10). By means of the antenna device (10), the microwave receiver (3) receives the microwave signal scattered by the breast. The controller (4) determines information about the breast tissue based on the microwave signal received.
