Description

DEVICE FOR SUSPENSION TRAINING WITH BALANCE BAR
Device for training in suspension consisting of: a flexible/rigid element (n. l) joined to the middle upper side of the balance bar(n.2); on the lower extremities of the above -mentioned balance bar are mounted two torsion ropes (n.3);these torsion ropes have a pulley for each one in order to let the cords through; a pair of cords on one end are joined to the handgrips (n.4) and the other end passes through the pulleys of the stabilizers of the harness (n.5) finishing to the ankle bands (n.6)wrapping the feet ( see Tav. 1 with numbers).
This invention consists of a device completely modified compared to the already-known patent, even though at present there is something similar but its function and purposes are completely different (US 2006/0052222 Al). The above-mentioned device consists of a limited number of elements which allow an easier use creating a closed kinetic chain apparatus which gives the possibility to perform acrobatic exercises important for muscle and flexibility but more for brain; the vigilance level grows so that it's possible to know the space around us under all points of execution. This kind of training stimulates not only the striated muscles but all those muscles which stabilize the joints such as all the muscles along the spine and the rotator with regard to the shoulders. By means of this device the user can perform other kind of exercises such as the rehab training. An example is the recovery of a knee after an operation
(The user, lying on a bench pulls the handgrip corresponding to the interested leg moving the knee such as the rehabilitation at the physiotherapist).
The device for training in suspension with the balance bar consists of a rigid/flexible element (Tav.l Fig.l and 2 n.l) with one hook for each end; one hook is fastened on the ceiling/frame and the other one on the eye placed on the middle upper side of the balance bar and it works as a fulcrum; this fulcrum creates a balance effect stimulating the proprioception (Tav.l Fig. 1 and 2 n.2). Two movable hooks are placed on the lower side of the bar; the distance between them is adjustable according to the dimension of the user. A torsion rope is joined to each hook; these ropes work as movement damper for the exercises around the horizontal axis as they rotate around the vertical one (Tav.2 Fig.1, 2 and 3). The torsion ropes (Tav.1 Fig.2 n.3) consist of rigid/flexible element and a pulley through which passes the rope (Tav.l Fig.l n.7); it joins at one end the eye of the handgrip which can be adjusted by means of a buckle (Tav.3 Fig.1 and 2 n.4). The handgrip adjustment is important for two reasons: the first to fit the device according to the height of the user, the second, very important, works to facilitate the effort of the arms, doing, at the beginning, short ranges and increasing them as soon as the user gets stronger (Tav.3 Fig. 1 and 3 ).
The power of the user increases very fast with this balance system because it stimulates the hypophysis to produce more GH.
The other end of the rope joins the ankle band (Tav.3 Fig.l n.6) first passing to the stabilizer (Tav.3 Fig.l n.5),fixed to the harness; (Tav.4 Fig.2 n.5a) the stabilizer consist of rigid/flexible element ( adjustable by means of a buckle placed on the lumbar part of the harness ) and a pulley. Each stabilizer can be removed from the harness as a karabiner. The harness has some belts/pockets (Tav.4 Fig.3 n.5d)in order to put some weight. This additional weight helps the user who wants to increase his power. The stabilizers are a decisive factor otherwise the device wouldn't work; through the stabilizers pass the ropes which are connected to the ankle bands closing the kinetic chain. In order to rightly perform the exercises is very important to use the stabilizers which hold the user when is parallel to the floor both in prone position and supine position (Tav. 2 Fig.2 n.5) (Tav.3 Fig.3 n.5). The ankle bands (Tav.l Fig.l n.6) are designed not to cause damage to the user because they wrap both the ankle and the foot with a particular crossing. This system allows the user to train his legs by means of exercises such as leg-press or leg-extension (Tav.2 Fig.2 n.6) (Tav.4 fig.4 n.6).
