Abstract

A payment system and method enable a user to purchase online content from an online content provider for a first communication device using a second communication device. The payment method comprises sending a payment code to the payment system by the first communication device over a first communication network via a first communication service provider. The payment system parses the payment code and debits the payment amount from the user's payment system account. The payment system sends a payment confirmation message to the merchant Website over a second communication network via a second communication service provider, the second communication device operating on the second communication network. The merchant Website sends a first access confirmation message to the payment system and the merchant website sends a first access confirmation message to the first communication device.
