Abstract

The invention relates to a multifunctional orthopaedic pillow comprising a number of pieces structured on the basis of non-contaminated polymer, with which said pillow is filled. The pillow is made using impermeable cotton fabric, preferably with polyester, for comfort, freshness, relaxation, mouldability and adaptability to any type of user. The pillow is also characterized in that it adapts to the shape of the user's head, protecting the neck area and minimizing the risk of suffocation through limitation of movement.

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to a multifunctional orthopedic bag or pillow comprising a combination of structured lens pieces based on uncontaminated polymer, with which said pillow is filled. The pillow is made of waterproof cotton material, preferably with polyester, in order to provide comfort, freshness, relaxation, moldability and adaptability to any type of user.

The pillow of the present invention is characterized in that it adapts to the shape of the user's head, whereby care is given to the cervical area and the risk of suffocation is minimized by limited movement. Additionally, when the user is a baby, it guarantees the roundness of the bone part of the skull, since the interior content of the pillow adjusts to the shape of the head and does not deform it, since it does not exert pressure on the skull.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Currently, one of the main problems that occur with pillows, specifically those used for babies is that they affect the shape of the baby's head, since they do not adapt to the curves of the skull, resulting in a malformation of said part of the body that can carry side effects later and that from the aesthetic point is undesirable. In addition, they do not provide freshness, nor are they comfortable for the user. In addition to the above, most of the pillows that try to solve the Cranial deformations of children, generally require a high investment, which makes it unavailable to any user.

In the state of the art there are documents that report different types of pillows filled with particles, which are mainly based on the use of a series of particulate material that gives it the shape of a pillow and allows the user to lie on it.

Among them is document KR 354829, which describes a filling material of a globular pillow that is mixed with said material to form inner air layers that are recovered as soon as the pressure exerted on the pillow is removed and improves the ventilation of the same. The filler material are spheres made of polystyrene, fine bioceramic powder that radiates far infrared and gemstone powder in a regular proportion. The mixture is molded in the form of a sphere. Many spaces are formed on the outer surface of the sphere and some of them pass through the body of the sphere in order to facilitate the smooth movement of the air. The spheres have elasticity for polystyrene and create a therapeutic pressure treatment that improves blood circulation. The spheres can be mixed with seeds as pillow stuffing.

The pillow described in said document has a particulate material whose shape is spherical, which does not provide therapeutic benefits on the development of the cranial cavity of infants or provide sufficient comfort to the user. In addition, the particulate material inside the pillow is synthetic and mixed with natural seeds, so that the product presents the risk of undesirable degradation of the natural material when it comes into contact with substances excreted by the user, such as sweat, saliva or vomit.

On the other hand, document US 20060010603 relates to a comfortable pillow that has a breathable cover and has a layer of main fabric that is closed at both ends and form an internal cavity that contains spherical pellets, made of neoprene with small fibers that extend from one to the other. The pellets can be made of foam, neoprene or composite material. Like the previous document, this patent application establishes that the shape of the particulate material is spherical, the size of the particles is regular and there are no different sizes depending on the application, so this pillow does not provide therapeutic benefits on the development of the cranial cavity of infants, nor provides sufficient comfort to the user.

Another document that is in the state of the art and that is related to the type of pillows, such as that of the present invention, is GB 2210555, which discloses the manufacture of a pillow filling material that involves cutting wood in small pieces to give them spherical shape, which have a rough surface produced specifically by treatment of a sandpaper machine. The preferred wood is Japanese cypress, or other wood impregnated with cypress aroma. This material releases the fragrance, absorbs moisture and does not degrade.

In this sense, the pillow in this document has a material that is made of wood, is spherical and not in the form of a lens. The particle size is regular and there are no different sizes depending on the application, with which it can be said that it does not provide therapeutic benefits on the development of the cranial cavity of infants or provide sufficient comfort to the user and also, its main function is that of expelling a pleasant aroma to the user.

However, US 5038431 relates to an impregnated cushion comprising a pocket for impregnable particles made of a waterproof material for filling. The pocket has a removable cover and the blade has a ventilation opening on the cover. The cover and ventilation may be aligned or facing. Preferred particles are expanded polystyrene impregnated with a medicine. This cushion facilitates the dispensing of a medication to an animal or person while resting.

The cushion described in this document is based on the elimination of odors and the additional therapeutic benefits it offers for developing infants. However, at no time this development is related to ergonomic benefits, because on the contrary if said beans come into direct contact with the user's head, they will present protrusions that will be uncomfortable for the same, since the beans do not slide over each other. In addition, the different sizes between the particles of the product disclosed in said application are not mentioned, whereby it can be declared that the cushion does not adapt to the shape of the user's skull.

Finally, US 20080208299 relates to a cushion filled with multiple lentil seeds, partially filled with a flexible porous cover. The cushion is preferably made of cloth, such as cotton. Lentil seeds are useful for storing heat when subjected to microwaves from a microwave oven and for slowly releasing this energy to the user's body through the cover. A volume inside the cover is filled between 60% and 85% by lentils. A closure is attached to the cover to secure the body of the cushion. Its objective is to transfer heat for a period of time to the user's body in an area that feels pain. This cushion prevents odor release by heating oat seeds.

The invention described in said document is based on a material inside a cushion, where said material is lentil seeds, where the lentils have annoying edges for application in resting developing infants. In addition, the particle size is not related to the therapeutic function of the cushion, so it can be established that it has no therapeutic benefits on the development of the cranial cavity of infants Additionally, it is important to highlight that its main function is to provide heat to areas with pain in the user's body.

Considering the above information, it is evident that there was a need in the state of the art to design and implement an ergonomic pillow that has a series of particles of different size inside, so that the pillow adapts to the shape of the skull of a user, especially an infant, and thus allow the head to obtain a round shape.

Additionally, it is necessary that the pillow has good properties of comfort, freshness, relaxation, moldability and adaptability to any type of user, while it is economical and inside there are no particles with forms that can affect health and the integrity of the user's skin.

DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

The invention can be understood in a better way by means of the figures, where each of the elements that make up the ergonomic pillow to be protected is shown. In addition, the figures show the reference numbers assigned to the elements that make up said pillow.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The multifunctional orthopedic pillow (1), object of the present invention, comprises the following elements or parts:

• An outer cover (2) in fabric, which is woven at its distal end (21) and at the proximal end (22), where said outer cover (2) has a substantially rectangular shape; Y

• A plurality of particles (3) that are inside the outer cover (2) and shape the pillow (1), where said particles (3) have different sizes depending on their application and are substantially lentil shaped in order to fit the user's skull shape.

Specifically, the outer cover (2) is made of fabric, preferably waterproof fabric composed of a mixture of cotton with polyester. In a preferred embodiment, the ratio of cotton and polyester on the outer cover (2) is 50% cotton and 50% polyester, in order to allow the fabric to be soft and comfortable enough for the user and to be easy to wash and maintain in an adequate state so that the infant does not suffer from health problems.

Additionally, the outer cover (2) has an embroidery at its distal end (21) by means of which the filling of the inside of said cover (2) with the plurality of particles (3) is allowed. This embroidery fulfills the function of preventing the particles (3) that are inside the pillow (1) from coming out and may compromise the integrity and health of the infant, since the user or the baby can ingest said particles (3). In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the particles (3) correspond to polymer-based structured parts, preferably non-polluting, in order to prevent bacteria from adhering to it or any other type of microorganism or contaminant that affects the user's health. .

These particles (3) have an acrylic finish, which allows them to have a specific consistency and not deform when the user rests on the pillow (1).

In one embodiment of the invention, the pillow (1) has a specific size depending on the age of the infant, as shown in table 1 below:

Thus, it is also important to mention that the particles (3) can have a series of sizes (thickness) depending on their application and the age of the user. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the particles (3) are present in five different sizes, which are the following:

- 6 x 2 mm

- 8 x 3 mm

- 10 x 4 mm

- 12 x 5 mm These particle sizes (3) allow when the infant places his head on the pillow (1), it adapts to the round shape of the back of the skull and provides comfort and comfort to the user. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, particles (3) of different sizes are present inside the pillow (1) depending on the age of the user, since they allow the infant to move and not drown and In addition, they adapt to the round shape of the back of the skull.
