Abstract

The invention relates to a generator (10) for motor vehicles, in particular an electrically excited claw-pole generator, comprising a stator (16) and a rotor, which are arranged in a housing (12) composed of two end shields (14, 16). In order to mount the generator to a vehicle part (30), a fastening device having at least two retaining arms (32, 34) having holes (36, 38, 40) for the passage of fastening screws (42, 44, 46) are provided on one of the two end shields. The opposite openings (48, 50; 52, 54) of at least one hole (36, 38, 40) are designed differently and enable various ways of fastening the generator to the retaining part of the vehicle.
