Abstract

A fibre optic cable adaptor (1) for fibre optic cable assemblies. The adaptor (1) includes: a first housing (3) arranged to receive a plurality of fibre optic connectors, said first housing (3) including a first part (3a) for receiving a first fibre optic connector and a second part (3b) for receiving a second fibre optic connector; a first shutter member (23) arranged to pivot relative to the first housing (3) between closed and open positions in response to insertion of the first fibre optic connector along a first insertion axis; a second shutter member (27) arranged to pivot relative to the first housing (3) between closed and open positions in response to insertion the second fibre optic connector along a second insertion axis; a spring unit (41) including a first spring member (45) arranged to bias the first shutter member (23) to a closed position and a second spring member (49) arranged to bias the second shutter member (27) to a closed position.
