Description

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR VIDEO PAYMENTS
BACKGROUND
Technical Field
[001] The present invention relates to a method and system for video interaction and more particularly to interactive video commerce through mobile payment ecosystem including connected devices and all offline and online commerce ecosystems using videos.
Description of the related Art
[002] 1 Earlier payment of bills were commonly received through paper by mail and 2 to make a payment, the payment section on the bill was typically filled by hand and returned to the biller by mail. Nowadays, an alternative way for paying bills is via telephonic payments using credit card or other pre-arranged payment systems such as cash on delivery or online/internet based payment systems that allows us to make electronic payments online without any use of paper or cash. However, it is a tedious job to enter all the payment details, account details, credit/debit card details and carry out transactions. Moreover a lot of online vendors do not save account details on first purchase and therefore, subsequent purchases require repetition of the process of entering personal and bank account details, credit/debit card details, which is a big friction and bottleneck in terms of user convenience when it comes to today's online monetary transactions system. Moreover, the current system does not provide ample protection in cases when an unauthorized malicious entity comes in possession of details like one's card number, name on card, expiry date, CVV number, bank account passwords, etc. Since no examination of the biological or anatomical features of the transaction requester is done for authenticity (biometric authentication). Hence, what is needed is an easy and efficient means of carrying out online transactions that do not require entering personal details, credit/debit card details, passwords, etc. every time a person wants to make an online transaction, reducing the latency in data transfer between users (both the one who is sending and the receiver) and providing better security and authentication methods that incorporate biometric authentication.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[003] The present invention is a method and system for video commerce wherein monetary transactions of making payments, receiving payments, purchases, sending and receiving money and other such activities are performed through videos wherein the videos can either be recorded, pre-recorded or live-stream. In order to send money or make a payment, use of a video is made wherein a user mentions in the video to transfer a particular amount of money to a particular person/company that he chooses from a list of pre -configured users. This video is then transferred through a secure data communication tunnel to a server which then authenticates the user's credentials, and upon successful authentication confirmation, the payment is made to said person/company by using associated monetary accounts that belong to the user and the said person/company. The invention implements a service through which the above mentioned activities are performed. Said service requires registration of a user to provide his personal details, financial and monetary details, biological or anatomical features for biometric authentication and in addition, details for geo- location and device identification are obtained. If a receiver of payment is not registered with said service, then the receiver is required to register. The above mentioned pre-configured users are a list of registered users that a particular user associates with his or her account.
[004] A user is required to register only once initially and thereafter, all subsequent transactions are done automatically without the need to enter any further details like personal and bank account details, credit/debit card details, etc.All authentication activities are automatically carried out in the background/backend (in the server) without the user's involvement.

[0036] The present invention may implement various approaches to achieve successful monetary transactions using video. Videos that are used may be live- streaming videos, pre-recorded videos, recorded videos (videos recorded just prior to transaction request for the same purpose) or any other such embodiment of video.
[0037] The present invention implements a system of video interaction for monetary transactions comprising a video interaction module 110, a network 109, an authentication module 106 and a personalization module 106. Said video interaction module is used for generating a video 100 and related data in an electronic device 102 and sending this video as requests for performing monetary transactions. Said network comprises a user electronic device 107 used by a user to generate monetary transaction request using said video interaction module to send an amount of money to a receiver; at least one serverl08 that receives, authenticates and processes said monetary transaction requests using said authentication module 106; a receiver electronic device 107 used by said receiver to receive said amount of money specified in said monetary transaction request and at least one data transfer tunnel 105that enables secure transfer of data within said network.
[0038] The video is then transferred over said network 109 through high security data-tunnels which are protected data gateways that provide protection of said video 100 and related data from malicious and unauthorized attacks, interceptions and accesses .Said authentication module 106 collects information comprising personal information, financial information ,biometric details and device information of said user and said receiver, and stores them in a related database as authentication data for authentication of said user and said receiver. One or a combination of these maybe used to authenticate a user. Personal details involve details like name, address, phone number, e-mail, date of birth, nationality, etc.
[0039] Financial details require a user to provide details regarding any monetary account that said system can access which holds information as to how much money a user has or can spend using which payments can me made/validated. Said account can also be used for receiving payments wherein amount of money is credited/added to amount of money said user has. Hence said account can be used as a user's (sender) account from which an amount of money is deducted or a receiver's account in which an amount of money is deposited/credited/added.
[0040] Biological and anatomical details are acquired from a user for biometric authentication and may involve one or more of techniques such as (but not limited to) retina scan, facial recognition with texture matching, and voice printing. Device identification is a number used to authenticate devices used by a user and each device identification number corresponds to a unique device number (Unique Device Identification Number).
[0041] Device identification also involves geo-tagging a device. Geo-tagging is the process of adding geographical identification metadata to the video .This data usually consists of latitude and longitude coordinates, though they can also include altitude, bearing, distance, accuracy data, and place names. Said personalization module 106enables personalization of videos by adding said user's personal graphical stamp 103on a video as a digital imprinting implemented as said user's identification tag integrated to said video's data as visible metadata. Said graphical stamp 103 is a customized stamp or watermark or any such graphical representation of the user's (who created the video ) name, company logo, etc. that is incorporated into the video so that the video is instantly identified as that belonging to said user upon viewing. Videos 100 are protected from unauthorized replication and misuse by securing videos with digital imprinting 103, which is a form of digital signature that is integrated with the video data as metadata. A digital imprint is unique for every user and no two entities can have identical digital imprints. Digital imprinting is implemented as an identification tag.
[0042] An identification tag is a tag that is attached along a video that identifies an entity and can be used to retrieve information associated with the entity available in the internet as this tag is unique for each and every user. A video having an identification tag 103 can be sent from any source and shared and it can be made available on the internet (or any other network) out as a point of sale or payments.
[0043] The video interaction module 110 enables a video and related data to be generated by a user in a user electronic device and sent to said at least one server 108 through said at least one data tunnel 105, wherein said authentication module 106 compares said video 100 and related data with said user's authentication data stored in said database and said monetary transaction is authenticated if said video and related data matches said authentication data. Upon authentication, said at least one server completes said monetary transaction by electronic transfer of an amount of money from said user's account to a receiver's account.
[0044] Upon successful transaction, said at least one server sends a notification of successful transaction to said user. Also, upon successful transaction, said at least one server sends said video and related data to a receiver electronic device 107 belonging to said receiver. Thereafter, said video and related data is disabled over said network by said at least one sever 108 that makes changes in said video and related data's metadata to prevent any unauthorized re-use of said video for making any further transactions.
[0045] Data transferred within said network is encrypted at a source node and decrypted at a destination node. The said video 100 can also be time bound and self destructive with time/view restrictions and encrypted to maximize the payment security. A service is associated with said system and said user interacts with said system using said service wherein said service requires said user and said receiver to register with said service for setting up a service account before first monetary transaction request can be made by said sender.
[0046] After said registration of the user and the receiver, said service completes any subsequent requested monetary transaction automatically upon receiving said request for monetary transaction based on the information said user conveys through said video and related data. Said service then prompts said authentication module 106 to perform said user's authentication and upon successful authentication by said authentication module, said service prompts said at least one server 108 to perform said requested monetary transaction. Upon successful completion of said requested monetary transaction, said service prompts said at least one server to send a notification of successful transaction of said requested monetary transaction to said user. Upon successful completion of said requested monetary transaction , said service prompts said at least one server to send said video and related data to a receiver electronic device belonging to said receiver.
[0047] To further add an extra measure of confirmation from the user, an embodiment of confirmation request is implemented wherein an initial confirmation before sending video is obtained from a user(sender) and a second confirmation request is made to said user after successful authentication to confirm a payment. Said service implements said personalization module to integrate an identification tag with said video and related data upon generation of said video and related data by said video interaction module. An identification tag is a tag that is attached along a video that identifies an entity and can be used to retrieve information associated with the entity available in the internet as this tag is unique for each and every user.
[0048] The video either live video or created or stored video having an identification tag can be sent from any source and shared, and once it is identification tagged, it can be made available on the internet (or any other network) out as a point of sale or payments. Using said identification tag, interactive and embedded in-video payment is implemented in online commercial platforms wherein if a content or product provider (seller) is registered with the service and has buyer's video in database with buyer's authentication, the payment is directly made upon approval of the buyer to confirm his purchase from said seller. Said service and identification tag are integrated with said platform to support hassle free online shopping.
[0049] For example, a merchant registered with said service can record/shoot a video advertising a product in said video and he can post or share said video on the internet. The merchant can then add his identification tag to said video such that a buyer registered with said service who wants to buy said product after viewing said video can do so simply by choosing the option of agreeing to buy said product associated with said video , add his identification tag to said video for the payment of an amount of money corresponding to price of said product and share/send said video to the merchant and the money is transferred from said buyer's account(sender account) to merchant's account (receiver account) upon successful authentication. Hence, we see that there was no need for a buyer to record a fresh video.
[0050] Said system and associated service may configured with at least one software and/or at least one hardware system. Said system can be integrated as a feature or third party software component in software applications or services or systems .Said system can be integrated with other hardware systems for achieving monetary transactions using video.
[0051] In another aspect of the invention, said service performs translation of content of said video to preferred language of said receiver using said at least one server if the preferred language of said user and said receiver are not same. Advanced transcoding, transcribing and natural speech recognition engines are used to process incoming and outgoing videos for accurate processing from their source language (user's language) to the destination language(receiver's language) and also, optional automated subtitles are provided with the concerned video.
